No, I call myself American because by sheer cosmic accident of birth I just so happened to be born within the geopolitical boundaries of the United States of America, thus making me a Citizen of the United States.

As to your second comment, I disagree.

YOU are why so many people dislike Americans.

The tiny minority of self-assured and arrogant pricks like you, are what the rest of the world chooses to pre-judge me, and most decent Americans by.
You make being a member of a global community harder for the rest of us, and I sincerely hope you wake up one morning and find that you have miraculously lost the ability to speak, type or otherwise communicate your idiocy.

I understand where your coming from but most of the global hate for the US is because of our politics not our actual citizens.

Yeah, that's true. Everyone hates the leader. It's simply human nature.

Being British any "Nationality teasing" towards me that I ever come across is a poorly mimicked accent and some comment about the state of my teeth. So not so bad really.

It's the treatment of others I find disturbing (mostly against people whose first language isnt English)

I dont like pointing it out, but in my experiences any ignorance or racism I come across online typically comes from an American. :(
Which is a shame, since I know the majority of the USA aren't a**holes. But the vocal few really have given the states a bad rep.

It is a fact that everyone hates us because we are top dog. The majority wouldn't care enough to hate us if we weren't the worlds top superpower. It gives people a reason to hate. It is how humans work. Don't get mad at me for stating facts.

It's our political system as a whole not just a certain party. Global dislike of the USA has been prevelant regardless of which party has been in power.

Leave your one-sided politics out of this, they don't belong and they'll get this locked.

Simply that. I've got kicked 4 times this week for only being from Spain. They see that in my PS3's player ID and I listen to them through their mics insulting me and saying how stupid and useless I am (even if I played a lot better than them ingame) and then got kicked because "I'm spanish and is not possible that I have internet" and BS like that.

The last ones to do that, were "spicebaby96" and "RyoTkm" (PS3). Congrats, you succeed kicking me, now you can play better with people from your own country.

I know I'm not the only one being kicked for non-sense things like that, I hope everyone can play with everyone without that kind of stupid racism and country-hate.

You're not telling us the whole story, or you're not articulating yourself very well.  Things might be different on the ps3, but I have never seen anyone get kicked out of a game based on their gamertag or accent or even for speaking a language other than english.

Are you playing with other Europeans?

Wars in the last 100 years have been fought by coalition forces.  Countries coming together to fight.  As a matter of resources and military forces America IS the "top dog"...just not the only superpower on the table.  The three main super powers are America, China, and Russia.  This is a good thing because they keep each other in-check.  The reason for the hate is the arrogant attitudes about this fact that some Amercans flaunt while they travel abroad.

If America isn't the top superpower, why does everybody come to us with their problems? Please tell your leaders that we aren't actually that big so that we can stop policing , and providing for, the rest of the world. Our military and foreign aid budgets are insane.

Well, I don't hate anyone (it's too stressful) but having ran into people from the 3 superpowers, the proportion of raging douchebags in America seems to be specially high. Not generalizing to EVERY American, but it's something I have observed, maybe it has something to do with the culture, maybe I just have more contact with American douchebags because we are both from the West, idk.
