I  played through the whole game as a casting sentinel and tech armor is somewhat of a disappointment.  Barrier seems to do much of the same with a softer penalty.

The team seems to be addressing the subpar performance of certain abilities in multiplayer.

Tech  Armor in multi now has a 60%  base penalty  like other armor powers instead of 80%.  IMO, still needs a buff since it is power the class is built around.  It needs to outclass Defense Matrix and Barrier considerably.  In SP, Barrier would probably be more desirable.

Adrenaline Rush's evolutions now have it reduce damage by 40% and restore shield to 100%.

Anyone think the Multiplayer Balance Changes make it into single player?

Well, in SP, Sentinel can take a bonus power to stack with Tech Armor to achieve 70% DR. It's the only class that can do this (I suggest Defense Matrix, the ability to purge and bring back shields allows you to tank more effectively like in ME2). It won't save you from Turrets (damn turrets), but it withstands normal weapons fire pretty well on Insanity. Take Throw with the Recharge Combo evolution, and Liara with 100% Singularity CD boost, and you'll be nuking enemies erryday. I only ever have to use guns against elites (Banshees, Primes, Brutes, Atlases).

Definitely needs tweaking in MP, tho. I run a Sentinel in MP, and I never use Tech Armor except to activate/purge it when my team's getting swarmed. Kinda like a CQC grenade. The power cool-down penalty is too much of an anchor, and 30-40% DR is really not worth it.

I just beat insanity with my caster sentinel, easy stuff. Marauder shields killed me once and that was it(honestly, stupid aiming at the point).

Spec'd for less cooldown penalty and more damage. Ran a level 5 particle rifle with a +172% cooldown. Barely noticed throw's CD, while overload wasn't bad at all.

It's not as bad as people think really. Your just not going to be an adept.

Cheers. McBeath.
