It has come to my conclusion that for "us" to get the endings we want, it is clear for us to not download the Extended Cut DLC.

Think about it, there are going to put a vast amount of time (maybe a little effort on the side) to make these [satisfying closure cut scenes] for us.

In order for us to truly be "heard" by Bioware and (get what "we really want"), we need to neglect what they are about to put in front of us.
They are practically saying "here take this DLC Extended Cut so we can get on with our lives". Which will mostly guaranteed lead to another massive ragefest of fans and players of the ME trilogy.

Pass this on to other people, pass it on to the RetakeMassEffectMovement, etc.
If you really want [satisfying] endings this is how you will do it.

Extended Cut is all there is going to be. Any "movement" after it comes out will not receive positive attention. That is just my theory.

The Extended Cut is all we're going to get. It's not exactly what we wanted, but it's the best that's going to be delivered. We're lucky BioWare and EA did anything in the first place.

Which is why this should be brought to attention immediately to all fans/gamers on this site, and pass the message on to any "movements" on the internet.

You see this is what I think they wanted, they found a way to neutralize and calm down the rage by declaring this Extended Cut DLC, in my opinion if we kept pushing them back on the verge of a corner (they would change the ending).

Hmmm.... they could also run a make a statistic of how many people downloaded it and make an argument that because so many downloaded it, it must have been fufilling. Like the pro-enders argue the sales number means satisfaction... it could ofcourse also go the other way.

Edit: I am at least gonna check it out before judging it!

Why don't you wait and see what the extended cut is?

Thats the problem here, everyone is just resigned that the current endings are so bad...what if the dlc makes them good? Is this not possible?

So my idea is to have one soul to download the Extended Cut DLC (sacrifice his eyes and heart for what he is about to see) and record it and paste it on youtube, for all viewers, that way it will completely negate all reviews and counter marks for how many people downloaded it.

Yeah, I'm not going to download it until I see it on youtube or something. If the extended cut doesn't make me want to play ME again, there's no point in downloading it or any other paid/free DLC for ME3. Bummer.

Its no skin off Bioware's nose if fewer people download the EC. Its purpose is purely to mitigate the horrible publicity they've been getting recently, and will either succeed or fail in that without regard for how many downloads it gets.

Before thinking of downloading or not downloading it ... We should just wait AND Hold the line AND again and again and again criticize the ending, debating, making threads about what we want and perhaps ... PERHAPS the EC will be even more "personalized" than BW actually wanted at the beginning.

I disagree with OP's idea. Do, download the Extended Cut. Experience it. Come back here and tell Bioware why it failed.

The thing you do not download is any Paid DLC. Extended Cut is free. Take it. Comment on it. But if they then put efforts into Paid DLC and none of us buy them, then and only then will they really get the message that they messed up TWICE. Once with the Ending, and the second when they made the Extended Cut instead of actually listening to us and giving us the Ending they marketed to us before the game was launched.

Now they have everyone in the palm of their hands, they want everyone to be thrilled and anxious for this Extended Cut DLC, completely negating all of the feedback being vaccumed by them and thrown out. Once people buy into the DLC, they will have a reason and a full explanation that to completey shut down everyone reacting to the horrid ending.

Any movement after EC will be seen as whiny and entitled. Don't download it if you don't want to play it, but starting another movement after Bioware has done this for us will make you come across every bit the whiny entitled brat the internet has been calling the retakers since day one.

It was completely unreasonable to ever think that we'd get exactly what we wanted in a changed ending. Bioware has done something very few developers ever have, meet them halfway like they're doing for us.

I strongly agree with you on this point. Bioware/EA are giving us a FREE dlc that is gonna clarify and provide closure about our choices throughout the series. Even tho i can probably guarentee you it won't deliver if we start another movement and rage about it then EVERYONE will most likely see us as whiney brats because the DLC was FREE and you can bet bioware/EA will use that to their advantage saying we really are a *Vocal Minority* more and more PR tactics.........i can personally say i am done with bioware.

Bioware said that it will be "explained" (in cut-scenes) why things are the way they are and THEN there will be an "Epilouge" (or in other words the final chapter). It is not clear what they mean because what they are going to show us is a spoiler other wise they would just tell us.

Ive been sold on the IT as fact since I heard Shepard's voice in the catalyst's own voice, repeating everything the catalyst says. Its hard to hear it you dont have good headphones.

They are not changing the ending - Period

The extended cut DLC is to address the feedback from fans on the ending

If you don't want to downlad it fine, that is by all means your choice

May I remind you all they said it will be explained in cut-scenes and no dialogue or gameplay choice what so ever. Do you really want to bare an extended 5 min cut scene clip of watching more garbage be filled into your mind making the horrid ending even more putrid? No dialogue, No action, No Satisfaction.

The DLC is NOT free.....

They took out the the prothean and his mission at the last minute before ME3 release for an UNKNOWN reason and it was $10. Why would they do this?

A. Its to pay for the free DLC that they are working on that the fans dont know about yet.

We are not "lucky". It had nothing to do with them being nice or trying to do what was right. They simply did some math and realized that the harm to the IP, consumer trust, reputaion and other factors was too high.
