Dude, they're locked into this, you won't change their minds. All you can do is play it, hope it at least makes the endings tolerable, and decide from there if you wish to purchase any future paid dlc or other bw products. I'm not personally that optimistic, but have pretty much entered a holding pattern for now. At least it should not be humanly possible to screw up the ending beyond what it is now.

I'd rather have had spacebrat dissected and shot into a thousand different suns, but this is what we get. Hope it's good, but prepare for it to not be everything you'd hoped.

Which is why this should be brought to attention immediately to all fans/gamers on this site, and pass the message on to any "movements" on the internet.

As a fan of the series, I will do what I like with my product.

Look there's 2 ways you can deal with the extended cut, like it or not:
1) Watch it on youtube.
2) Download it and suffer through the Star Child section anyways to see the results for yourself.

In the end there's only one way to "stick it to Bioware/EA" over the ending and that's not give them more money.
- Do not purchase paid DLC.
- Do not buy Bioware points for multi-player packs (You shouldn't be wasting your money this way anyways. You can get enough money to buy a Specter pack if you complete about 4 Bronze missions. Takes about an hour or so).

That's the only way to get any real message across to them.

So, Bioware decides to put forth their time, energy, and resources into a free DLC to fix the ending, which they didn't see a problem with in the first place. And you're whining and saying that we didn't get what we want?
Now I'm starting to understand where IGN, Penny Arcade, and Kotaku got the idea that the fanbase is entitled and complaining.

I'll happily download and play it, thankful to Bioware that they even gave it to us in the first place, let alone for free! It's called compromise. Bioware likes their ending and wants to keep it, and we need to understand that. But at the same time, they're willing to change it because we asked.

Show a little gratitude, will you?

who knows...they said they wouldn't change the ending but maybe they would just like how they said we had16 endings but really only had 3 before we bought the game...

Listen, I'm just bringing up some clarity for everyone around this community. Dont forget corporate businesses of all kinds of this era are all, sneaky, greedy, and lets not forget GREAT manipulators when it comes to ADVERTISEMENT and their PRODUCTS.

Listen I love everyone in this community. Do what you must, I just wanted to be heard, and enlighten a few people. "To simply make change in the world, all it takes is the will of a single man".

No, I'd rather give them the chance and try this Extended Cut for myself.

If that fails, sure, it'll be another firestorm around this place (and the Net in general). But I'm not going to just nix what they come up with...they got so much right with the ME series, I personally feel I owe them another chance at this.

Well, you failed at enlightening anyone on anything. In fact, I found this insulting over anything else, so I think you should go back and change what you wrote.

LinksOcarina, like I said I just wanted to bring enligtenment, no need for a ragefest from you because of my own individual opinion. Do what you must, "free will" kid.

Just make sure you apologize to me later, when the Extended Cut DLC makes you cry and gouge your eyes out.

Bioware said that it will be "explained" (in cut-scenes) why things are the way they are and THEN there will be an "Epilouge" (or in other words the final chapter). It is not clear what they mean because what they are going to show us is a spoiler other wise they would just tell us.

Ive been sold on the IT as fact since I heard Shepard's voice in the catalyst's own voice, repeating everything the catalyst says. Its hard to hear it you dont have good headphones.

I was wondering why that kid go to him in the end of his dream :?

Just wait for the extended stuff and if it doesn't adress the actual problems with the endings (guaranteed 100% if they're not altering anything) simply refrain from buying EA/BioWare games in the future, they'll get the point as soon as it starts hitting them in their wallets.

The Extended Cut is all we're going to get. It's not exactly what we wanted, but it's the best that's going to be delivered. We're lucky BioWare and EA did anything in the first place.

They can keep that attitude if they want to, they will be selling A LOT less games in the future though. As it should be. Outright lying to your customers (yes customers - as in people who buy your product so you have money to live) shouldn't be tolerated just because this is a game and it's being defended with the 'artistic integrity' argument. If BioWare built cars that would stop running after 1.000KM would you say the same? Or would you demand them to fix it since... you know... you already paid for a working car?

They said directly that they will not change the ending. It's final. Extended cut is all we're going to get, so don't waste your breath on it.

"It has come to my conclusion"?

Seriously, not paying for future DLC out of protest is one thing, however, asking people not to download a free extended cut that may just answer most if not all of their questions.......is simply ridiculous.

As a sidenote to everyone, who gets a chance to read this.

Lets not forget once Bioware will be done with the ending to this trilogy once the Extended Cut DLC is out, they will put their hands in their pockets and walk away.

They are going to vacuum any feedback from it, and vent it out to space.

In the end, truthfully the Reapers + Bioware have won...

The Indoctrination Theory does not require the ending to change dude, it only needs to be explained and look what bioware is doing...there explaining it like they said!

It's extra content, and content I'm not being charged any more for, for a game I mostly enjoyed. I'll download it, see if it's any good. If it is, and it helps me to feel better about the ending, then great! If not, then I'll get over it. It's hardly the first videogame I've played with an awful ending.

At the very least, I do appreciate that the writers and cinematics team are making some effort to accommodate the unhappy fans, impossible though that will probably be. They really don't have to bother. Spending weeks clamouring for them to do something and then not even bothering to download whatever it is they do, seems ... odd to me, and perhaps a little mean-spirited.

Hence if they do bring light towards the so called "Indoctrination Theory", how do you (end) the trilogy with a total blank slate allowing for a horrible sequel, and your Commander Shepard did all that work to get slapped with a beam and become a puppet for the Reapers?

Like people held their wallets after ME2 abandoned the RPG elements?

or when they held their wallets after the "Fiasco" that was DA2 and swore they were finished with Bioware?

or when the masses cancelled their pre-orders for the abomination that was Multi-player?

or maybe even when the evil of day one DLC turned them off Bioware forever ?

Yep heard it all before Image IPB

Its not the ending (how many times do I and others have to go over this?). Bioware HAS said that there will be an Epilogue which means "final chapter"...AFTER they "explain" the "current" ending.

Sounds like IT to me!

Mass Effect 3 is the end of the Shepard arc
