My Top Ten Wish List for DA 2 (in no particular order)
==========================================

1) A least one more controllable party member at all times.

Agree

2) Playable epilogues.

Agree

3) Leliana and Morrigan back. Morrigan's child factors into the story. Maybe Leliana is even pregnant with the PC's child at this point too, but then she finds out that the PC also has a child with Morrigan! Uh oh...

Agree

4) Some sort of home/base for the player and companions, that is not just the same camp site all the time.

Camp was fine, this not needed

5) Pictures/illustrations to go with the codex entries (make them a bit more interesting I think).

Agree, and voice over like in Mass Effect for those of us that dont want to read on TV/Computer screens

6) Able to continue the story with same main character you created in DA 1, like in Mass Effect.

Agree (unless you die in end of course)

7) I'd like the companions to initate the conversation with me a little bit more, instead of myself always going up to them. And maybe my comrades could give me gifts for a change. But maybe that's just me...

Naaaa, but Id like even more interaction between group NPCs and large story arcs so you cant get whole story in first 25% of game like I did this play through.

8) Summonable/ownable pet dragon! Maybe just a baby one. Kind of like the mabari pet, but could breathe fire.

Nope but before this game ends (meaning before part 3 done) I WANT A WHITE GRIFFON!

9) #9 deleted as 1st person sucks darkling poo

10) Even more dialogue choices/paths... I love having options.

Totally agree. See #7

Any thoughts?

Put your wish lists here too if you like... doesn't have to be ten, just however many you can think of.

My extras

1) Cut Screen Nudity (I dont really need it, just pisses me off some american soccer mom has more say over a game im paying for then I do, content wise)

2) Less in your face same sex stuff. Still have it but make it so you have to go looking for it to have it in your game.

3) (worth repeating) Voice overs for the codex ala Mass Effect

4) Takes place in new area of world (Antiva or Orlay, or ... (you get idea)

5) bigger encounter areas for the side missions like "Civil War" and such rather then just a single combat screen

6) Multiple character side quests. I love the side quests for each party member but id like to see multiple ones rather then just the one (Ogren = bar wench, Allistar = sister, Lelianna = Marjory, ect). Knowing the ir story will expand even more after the first quest done would be awsome!

Thats all I can think of right now, sure more will come to me later

Also, include some passage of time indicator when you travel, or total time passed. I miss this from Baldur's Gate. I did notice and like the progression of the blight on your world map as you travel and progress along the allies quests... But, how long does it take to go from Denerim to Orzammar? Just a small addition, perhaps?

1. A clever villain with a touch of humanity and power.

2.A new character.

3. No Origin stories, just start the main story.

4. No Darkspawn please, tired of those witless brutes.

5. More skills and talents, or at least more depth.

6. Bigger areas, felt like every city was extremely tiny, make some sprawling cities!

7. More meaningful main quests (i.e. every quest unravels a bit of the story and forwards the narrative). DA:O felt like every separate area was completely detatched from the world with an enjoyable mini-story but lacking any "big narrative."

8. More future consequences like how the devs touted. I remember Mike Laidlaw kept saying that choices in the beginning would come back and hit you somewhere along the lines, I didn't feel that way at all, aside from one origin story character or such.

9. Better loot system, the loot in DA felt like filler. It felt like a chore looting all the corpses, whereas it should be enjoyable.

10. More "party quests," longer, more meaningful ones, like Shale's. Shale's was average length, fun, and intriguing. The others in DA:O felt way too short (5-10 mins), and not very meaningful. Talk to sister, get my sword, kill this person, visit that place, etc...

1: More Origins, apostate mage and dalish mage would be awesome.

2: Have companions and npcs react to what specialization class you are, found it extremely annoying that no one reacted at all to me being a blood mage.

3:Have specialization classes have more spells and spells with a bigger impact.

4: More information on how talents work(numbers, how they work and exactly what they do) found the dragon age tooltips to be very annoying.

5: Longer and more quality dlc(shale is fine, but wardens keep was meh;/) or do away with the dlc develop expansions instead.

6: More tactical fights, most fights felt like just ''tank and spank'' except for the broodmother and maybe the archdemon.

7: Allot better side quests, the mage bag, chantry board and blackstone chest, all pretty much sucked and felt like your typical fail mmo quests. Give us grand epic side quests, with interesting and exciting characters and plots.

8: Most important thing, a open lock spell and/or the ability for warriors to bash open chests:P

9: Have it take place in Tevinter;p

3. More in depth lore (Especially about the Dwarves and Elves!)

4. More Thaigs being reclaimed, more elven ruins to be explored

5. More possible party members, if you can do it without sacrificing quality

6. More Specilizations!!!!

7. More Quests

8. Morrigan re-introduced along with possible child

9. More Origins

10. More options in Dialogue

1. Fully voiced PC (male and female), even if that means less origins (I wouldn't miss dwarves).

2. Better, detailed epilogues.

3. More attention and interaction to the important scenes (like the final scene with Howe).

4. Better developed side quests.

5. Longer and/or more companion quests.

6. More conversations overall with companions, even if they're shorter.

7. More dialogue options that actually make a difference, instead of all leading to the exact same reply from the NPC.

8. Proper in-game descriptions.

9. More balanced combat system...

10. ... but with even more spells and abilities.

i agree with the voiced PC idea, no need to put 6 kind of voices like violent, wise and whatnot just one would be ok the violent one was pretty annoying more than anything anyways

- Same main PC
- If you killed someone in DAO then they are dead, if they are alive at the end, the continue into the next game
- If you were in a relationship with someone...they should remember....would suck to have to start over again.

Other then that...I am just excited to see what Bioware comes up with for a large expansion, or sequal...

For the relationship part, well, yes; but your pc will have to take care of it or rebuild it (Morrigan´s case); not from scratch, but still actively working on it. Same goes for friendship with returning companions; Sten (if returning) can be initially friendly, but you´ll have to keep that friendship as such actively.

I love the idea of a "headqaters"; I loved it in Baldur´s Gate (the castle, the plane sphere, temples...) and even more in NWN2 (the Crossroad Keep was one of my fave parts). Of course it can be a mobile something, like the Normandy in Mass Effect; and if you can even make it count in the whole plot and "improve it"; even better.

My propposal? Well, Isabella´s ship. ;)

I´d like more ambiguos "mystic experiences" such as the one with the ashes (lirium, faith, both?) perhaps involving a visit to the Black City.

And last but not least, the parts I enjoyed most were the interactions with my companions; like the philisophical debates with Sten, deniying Morrigan from breaking the relation and seing her feel week and confused; listening to Leliana´s tales (and songs, man; I want more of that!!!), Alister´s jokes about how he was rised by stricly religious mabaris... For once, it would be cool to have a bit less "you´re the last hope and saviour of the world" than "my little spot in the world is confortable with some people I like to have arround".

On the other hand, I´d like to see more complex conversations with your companions. Since you change their lives, such as the case of turning Oghren from a drunkard waste into a more optimist and confident killing machine, you can also destoy Morrigan´s perception of caring about other as not necessarily leading to weakness or showing Sten that honour and responsability is possible even with non-Qun followers (he even considers himsefl redeemed); I´d like to see them showing that they have changed you or the others arround you. The possibilities are huge and Leliana is an amusing mine; from calling Sten "softie" to considering Shale a sister. Conversations with two people at the same time can be a great or conversations between party member without you, like the possible attachment of Minc to Aerie in BG2.

I assume that it will be just as awesome as DA:O. I also think there will of course be improvements with respect to things such as graphics, animation quality, dialog trees, branching storylines, etc. Using DA:O as a metric, however, I am afraid that DA:O 2 will not have (despite the fact it should have):

1. Balance
2. Gold-sinks (housing, trophy display)
3. Craftable armor, weaponry, etc. (tie this in with point 2)
3. Post-campaign play (including some specifically post-game questing; also tie this in with point 2)
4. 5 member parties (at least 4 + Dog :pinched:)

1. More races and creatures, friend/foe.

2. Higher quality textures for the platforms that can handle it. (My mid-range computers doesn't even blink at DA:O. So much power to squeeze...)

3. A huge city floating in the sky and a huge city in a bubble under the water. (Imagine the scenery of such.)

4. Actions that influence other party members even when they are not present (but only major things like killing the entire city and not things like stealing a cookie from the baker).

5. To have meta-maps where areas that directly connect to each other seem seamless such entering and exiting buildings or changing floors within the same building. Traveling large distances overland is still probably best as an overmap.

6. Multi-sourced dynamic shadows

7. Settings and situations influenced by Origins saved games.

8. More "Necessary isn't always nice" scenarios with lots more fore-thinking into the consequences versus the immediate gain.

9. True 3 dimensional position processing to allow very unique tactics and environments, such as flying enemies (rather than all models anchored to the ground by an offset), and bridges where one can cross over AND under, swimming, falling, etc.

10. Vehicles such as griffons, dragons, wagons, oxen, halla, big butterflies, whatever.

If I was allowed more, I'd add an increase to party size (perhaps as something you must spend multiple points to gain with each party member to balance out the increased power, meaning you can have more but with weaker members and pretty much MUST have more once you do it because the party members can't level up as fast. If a member doesn't have the skill, they cannot be part of a party that exceeds their amount. Every member character would need this to prevent them from being overpowered if only the main character had to do it.

I would also add a rule-set with more customizations across the different rules rather then only 5 settings (though I think pre-sets with the ability to customize further like the face feature makes a lot of sense).

I would also add customizing the appearance of items to a certain degree in shape, color, markings, etc. excepting unique items, which no other item can mimic.

I would also add a better branching of dialog rather than giving the option for a character to go all wild-mood-swing on someone out-of-the-blue in nearly every dialog option.

I would also like to add a tactical view that pulls further back to the distance that enemies can aggro while still centered on your character.

I would also like to change the tactical camera so that it *can* move to a straight-down view (for those cluster-#*^@ situations). The angled view would still be available.

I would also add that a high enough cunning (possibly mixed with a skill or feat like survival and/or stealth) should allow someone to sense stealthed critters (cunning+stealth?), critters hiding in the ground (cunning+survival?) or magicked things that could come to life (cunning+magic?). [So much for the darkspawn sensory when it came to Sharlocks. amirite?]

I would add that pets like Dog could occupy a special slot for its master that does not count against the party (not unlike a summoned thing) and the ability to gain pets for certain companions would be neat (and possibly affect encounters positively or negatively just like the companions themselves)

And regarding romances:

Find a way so that people that want the gay romances won't get stuck with it-was-business-sex-with-anyone-required-for-the-job backgrounds for the companion. Maybe there could still be a "cheap sex" option, but I think I speak for many when I say that there's something to be said for people who see romance as more than "just sex".

Also, there's quite the demand for going all-the-way with aspects of the scenes. I would suggest working on the models a bit (as their body morphing doesn't quite work right even with the bra and strap) and have a setting to let whoever wants them bare to have them bare (though I, personally, think it's all a bit silly, correct physics or not). I'd also have the option for the whole fade-to-black style for those who can't seem to press ESC to skip past the silliness.

1.) Remove Specializations and replace with Subclasses that are chosen at the start of the game.  Have the subclasses change the default stats and add to origin stories. (Eg, add an extra 5-10 minute area in between the end of of your origin and Ostagar explaining how you learn the spec)  More talents for each spec and more spec restricted gear.  (subclasses can still be the same EG shapeshifter and are unlocked similarly)

2.) More origin stories that explore other aspects of the lore.  Eg: Apostate origin, Chastind origin, Legion of the Dead etc

3.) More diverse armour and weapon models, less emphasis on textures for differentiation.

4.) More non-story related dungeons, longer dungeons in stories (orzammar length is great)

5.) Unlike others, I'd much rather play the game with a different PC and even in a different province like Orleis or the Tevinter Imperium

6.) Expansion on weapon proficiencies (sword/shield, dual wielding 2hander, archery) and tweaks to functionality.

7.) Origin stories tie in with the world a bit more.  Even if we only had 4 origins (one for each race + a mage) with an emphasis on changing story events based on the origin a bit more could make the game a bit more replayable.  (especially with the specialization stuff I mentioned before)

8.) Improved AI.  Fix exploits like pulling and forcefield and make the enemy AI a bit smarter.

9.) Less generic side-quest, I'd much prefer 10-20 quest between companion quest/more involved side quest than 30-40 fetch/kill.

10.) More interesting injuries.  Rather than attribute debuffs have injuries apply other effects like a chance of spell interuption, reduced mana/stamina and decreased accuracy.

1. animations for females that aren't the same as they are for males.  Seeing Morrigan swagger into the Anvil of the Void?  Kind of off-putting, even if she was the one putting out.  Half expected her to start scratching herself, or maybe even try to "adjust".

2. Different hands.  For everyone.

3. An informative index for the Codex entries.  'cause "114", even if it's item 64 out of 79 under the Quests and Notes heading, just isn't going to do me much good when I'm looking for specific information in a specific note regarding lock boxes and Last Wills.

4. Continuity between games.  Not so much WRT my own character given the options we had in the final encounter, but in terms of locations I'd personally like to at least start out in a place I've already been, just to get my feet back on familiar territory.  Always helps inform my understanding of a world when the areas exist independently of any one game.  Same goes for monsters and spells.  More, rather than different.  In addition to, rather than instead of.  If Inferno is part of the world, as it is now that the first game is out, would like to see it return in the second.  If Denerim's Market already exists in one game, at least show me that there are still shades of that market after the war when it's been rebuilt in the second game, if we get to return there.

5. More music.  Absolutely loved the music that was there, but found there to be too many times when there was simply nothing playing at all.

6. Mutton (aka "the dog").  Love that little guy.

7. Touch-ups regarding "illusioneering".  Less obvious Banter Points.  Areas that aren't locked into a particular time of day, no matter when or how frequently you visit.  Static encounters that aren't presented as random ones (Job board quests, for example, that result in a world map encounter).  Consistent presentation of whatever notion of death happens to be used (if characters only fall unconscious in battle, don't replace their portraits with a flesh-stripped death-head)  etc etc.

8. Same voice actors for returning characters.

9. Multi-mage spell casting... even if it's story-specific.  BIG magic. (self-confessed mage junkie)

10. Less game play emphasis on Tactics slots.  Shouldn't (IMO) have been made a skill that you could put points into.  Would personally appreciate a combat model that didn't favour AI so much... even if the system allows players to program the AI themselves.  I expect there's virtually no chance of me seeing this one, but... is a wish list.  Nobody said the wishes had to be reasonable.

To sum up, then, in the words of a previous poster:

More Awesome.

For the most part, DA:O is remarkably awesome.  Moar pleeze.  Tank you.

Either allow all recruited party members to accompany you or find something reasonable for them to do while your main group is off saving the world.

It doesn't make any sense to drag them along and then force them to sit at camp all day long because they don't fit your artificially small group due to class composition.

I agree.

Holding the Denerim Gate was a nice touch though. I wish it had more like that.

I want something like this..

When a main party travels, of course there will be random battle encounters. Instead of the main party getting that random encounter, sometimes the random encounter will be at the camp. Some kind of animal attack, bandits invading your camp, a random friendly NPC passing by, etc.

1) Same main PC, like many before have said.

2) For the love of christ, have the different classes that the companions are BALANCED. Annoyed me something fierce that they were practically all warriors.

3) New class(es)

4) More Character Creation Customization

5) More combat. More more more.

6) Give us a place like Warden's Keep as the main party camp. Let us go inside, give us a few quests and codex inside

7) More armor and weapons

8) Have it in orlais or somewhere other than Ferelden.

9) More Dragons

10) More difficult combat. On hard mode Flemeth, the High Dragon (sacred ashes), and the archdemon were WAY too easy. The high dragon was the toughest of the three for me, took two tries. Did Flemeth before the High Dragon and she took 1 try and the Archdemon took 1 try. WAY too easy.

1. Alistair *shifty look*

2. Helmets and/or outfits that don't make me feel like the village idiot. This might seem silly, but hey, aesthetics are important to me. I swear I keep thinking my mage looks like a total dork with her Enchanter's Cowl on whenever I see it (with its tassels!!!!), etc. Ummm, on the plus side you don't actually see them in cinematics. However, let me point out that you don't see First Enchanter Irving wearing anything that dorktacular - ever. Also, I think we need Orlesian tailors to come up with sexier robes for females (hey, I'm female & I like my outfit to not look dowdy :P ).

3. On the romance end: it was great in DA:O, but you know, after you get to the love stage with your LI, you don't have all that much left to talk about...maybe there should be some, err, continuing flirty banter options after you go past the, err, tent scene? Not that the kissing isn't fun. :P I did enjoy tormenting Morrigan by having my character kiss Alistair in front of her.

4. More to explore!

5. More quests/side-quests. Maybe it will be possible to create random quests of some sort? It would be a nice way to get some extra gold. Those shiny weapons are sooo expensive. :P

6. Not that I'm sure how you'd manage it, but in the "more to explore" vein, more expansive feeling areas would be nice.

7. More awesome party banter. It was brilliant & just keep that up!

8. The Hespith/broodmother thing was great - if you do more creepy areas, let me tell you that that was highly effective. *shudders at the mere though of Hespith's verses*

9. Oh, well, technically this should be up higher, but I was in Project Runway mode earlier. I want the story to continue & see all my old companions because I wuv them all (even Morrigan - she did say I was like a sister to her - awwww!). Needless to say, I'm rather anxious about the whole Old God reborn thing.

10. Maybe traveling to one of the other countries at some point? I'd like to see...oh, ALL of them, but uh, if I really have to choose two: maybe Orlais & Par Vollen? Might be interesting to visit the Qunari & see Sten, heh. Techncially, I'd like to see Antiva too perhaps.

11. Fine, sorry, adding one more: I like tough ethical choices - this interests me greatly, so if you can work more of that in, that'd be great.

1. Bigger map/world areas, that aren't locked to a certain path. If it looks like you can walk there, you should be able to walk there.

2. Larger (travel-able) world map, with the possibility to go to locations in more than one country.

3. A respawn system or a new game+ option, so it isn't all over once you finish the game. I know you can still do DLC currently, but that just isn't enough.

4. As per many above posts, being able to play the same character as in DA.

5. As per point 4, consequences in DA #2 for the choices in DA, big and small.

6. More equipment variety, and more reason to switch equipment more often as you go along.

7. More game-spanning, mysterious, secret side quests. I love the really drawn-out ones where you spend a majority of the game gathering clues, working your way to some looming danger. Preferably when you just happen to stumble over them by paying extra attention. It's ok to have a long, complex side quest that 75% of the players miss altogether or are unable to finish on their first play-through, really.

8. More random dangerous places, like the Twisted Rune in BG2.

9. Day/night cycles, seasonal changes and weather.

10. The option to change your character's looks as you go along, like growing a beard or changing your hairstyle.

They highlight newly acquired items in the lists already, but I seriously grew to dislike the arbitrariness of the inventory limit, and the fact that I had to waste a boatload of money getting that limit up to a semi-reasonable size. Not to mention the scrolling (the tabs helped immensely with this).

And that reminds me: out of the box (if DA2 even comes in a box) storage space for whatever base camp or stronghold we might be provided with.

1. At least 6 characters in your party.

2. Save file brought over (like Mass Effect 2).

3. Ability to travel to Ferelden, Orlais, Tevinter and the Free Marshes.

4. MOAR classes/races.

5. Companions make appearances in the storyline (Morrigan, Shale, Alistair, Oghren, and Sten).

6. Oghren (after a Ferelden battle), Leliana (visiting the Urn of Sacred Ashes),  a new Grey Warden (introduced early on like Alistair(Male)), apostate (Circle quest(Female)), Qunari(Male(Warrior)), Werewolf(Male), Mabari, Chantry Sister, Maleficar (Male), Golem, a Templar, and an Assassin as companions.

7. MOAR origins.

8. Morrigan's child as the final boss.

9. 10 or so years later.

10. MOAR armor/weapons.

Ahh, wishful thinking.^_^
