1) If its before the next Blight then the same character. If not then a new one, but would like codex entries detailing my original character and companions to be found in books, based on my old game saves.

2) Ok we have swords axes and maces, what about scimitars, halberd, spears, flail? And some specializations or talent lines to go with them ?

3) Why do all rogues use dual wield? Cant they have a shield line of talents as well but only able to use bucklers ?

4) Would loved to of been able to rebuild Wardens Keep and recruit more Grey Wardens.

5) Some sense of time passing. Some NPCs say its been a year some say a few months. Not asking for time limits on quests just some guide to how much time has passed.

6) The ability to craft your own weapons and armour with various metals and skins. Also the ability to add items to them for decoration, eg a party member gives your character a gift and you can hang it from your belt or sword hilt. Some gifts may even have hidden bonuses to stats if your in a romance ?

7) A few repsawnable dungeons maybe ? But then you would need to add a level cap into the game or only allow it to repawn so many times, you know rumours go around the bandits and they dont use those tunnels anymore kind of thing due to someone clearing them out each and everytime.

8) More options in conversation to stab people in the face if you dont like them.

9) Enchantment!!! Sandals' rules.

10) I liked the idea of your own personal merchant traveling with you just wish he would sell some of the stuff you give him when he reaches a village or city and takes on some new items from said city / village.

1. No hardset canon for first game ending! If it retcons major choices I made in the first game, then that just neuters the impact of choice in a game that's marketed to be all about morally grey choices in the first place!

2. New story, no Blight 2.0 or continuation of first story! If the Dragon Age franchise is nothing but Blights and their aftermath, then that's just uninspired and phoning it in! Not to mention turning your bright new promising franchise into a one-trick pony plotwise!

3. New PC! I don't want to play an "epic level" sequel that presumes I even survived DA:O in the first place, just like point #1!

4. No plot focus on Morrigan's DirtyLittleBastard godchild she may not have even had in the first place! Cliched and superlame plothook to begin with, and tied to #1 and #2!

5. More ambiguous unresolved endings and cliffhangers! Not enough people in the gaming industry have the balls to pull off stunts like Director's Cut Bladerunner or John Carpenter's The Thing!

6-10. More of 1-5 for emphasis!!!!!!!! :wizard:

Everyone else who posted in here probably hates all of my suggestions, but I don't flippin' care! <3  <3

I've only got 2:

1: A new protagonist, at the end of DA:O the protagonist has come full circle and had a suitably epic ending, so lets have a new one.

2: Less side-tasks and more side-quests. If I wanted to read a wall of text and then go kill 10 generic enemies, I'd play an MMO.

1. New protagonist, back to lvl 1. I'm not interested in super-heroes in my RPG's
2. Larger, less linear areas. Sure it's a big dungeon, but I want to be able to have a choice of how I tackle it. This goes double in outside areas, I want to wander around the open areas not be forced into one path by a downed tree or cliff.
3. More options for working things out or discovering extra ways to get somewhere. I don't want every plot advancement to be handed to me on a plate.
4. A better villan, whose motivations and actions are hard to fathom for much of the game - see Jon Irenicus. I'd like some mystery that I could woek out here as well.

1. A chance to repeat NPC's last lines, not just one sentence, by pressing a button. A replay working like the quick saving function. English is not my first language, and at some points of the game (werewolves were the worst!) voice acting is rather hard to make out, especially if someone is making noise at the background. The growling was a nice rpg touch, I admit, but it was like sitting the senior secondary school's English listening exams again...

2. I would like to see more of dwarven and elven cultures, especially the dwarves. When I bought the game, I expected to see more traditional take on dwarves. I would not have been surprised to see backstabbing politics for elves, since they are often portrayed that way. Amusingly the dwarf concept of DAO works very nicely with D&D-idea of lawful dwarves... They are lawful, following their traditions and rules almost blindly, but not necessarily good. I found Orzammar very interesting and most importantly, a fresh take on dwarves.

3. Linking origins to main game. I think the city elf origin was well made in this account. It felt very different to save my character's father from slavers than just to save an Alienage elder. I would have liked an opportunity to discuss the topic in depth when my character's lover found out about her marriage when Shianni mentioned it, not just pass it quickly. It would have been nice to be able to continue that discussion later at the camp. The game already lets companions react to PC's actions (like Alistair after Redcliffe, Wynne after Haven etc.) and I think hardly anyone would just shrug it off if they found out their lover was bethored to someone else and had never mentioned anything about it.

Another important point: after my PC dealt with the slavers, Soris mentioned something about how she always is the hero and saves the day, sounding quite annoyed. I really liked this! It's not realistic if everyone cheers for PC all the time. City Elf PC's heroics cause troubles to Alienage, although nobody says at her face that it was her fault, and it could feel annoying to have a cousin who appears from nowhere, even after you have held a funeral for her, and fixes everything just so.

4. I actually liked the available romances, unhappy or no. Even Gorim, although having some sense of time passing (3 months / 6 months / one year since Origin?) would made his marriage and child a bit more realistic... I would like to see my character happy, of course, but it cannot be so if the end result would be completely out of touch with the rest of the world. Like it would be if my elf or dwarf NPC was Alistair's queen and all hail the king and the queen... Nice fairytale, but not something which would realistically happen in DAO world. Nobody has complained why dwarf noble female PC cannot be the queen of Orzammar and Alistair her king!

Since other companions commented on PC's romance, I would have liked to have a discussion with Wynne after the relationship with Alistair ended. Not necessarily long or in depth, but some mention about it! Same for male PCs who romanced Morrigan.

*The rogues scoff as Dagna says she will burn their shoes* 'Everyone knows dwarves cannot do magic!' the leader exclaims, and then suddenly their shoes, their leggings, their chests, their arms, but not their heads erupt in fire.

"I completely forgot to use the lesser form of the tenth symbol there, I so need to work on that, but it's so fun just casting magic at any and all bad guys" replies Dagna as she starts to walk away to release the hero from his bindings.

"How was that? I think the council fears dwarfs using magic, but I have magic, it's soooo exciting! How did you get to be a prisoner anyways? Well I am joining you since you made it possible for me to join the tower. No there is no need to throw someone out and have them watch the camp, we can be five in number, like the variations of the 'Masters Eye' casting. Or like the 'Giddions Stretches or the..."

Thanks for..

Wait a Sec...

Umm, hi Dag...

Andraste help us all....

(regardless of player choice)

"This will be real good, I can definitely learn from you, you are going to be exploring all sorts of places, and I love learning new things, think of what a swell team we will be!"

In otherwords Dagna as magic user, new lands, and a 5th person spot.

Introduction of time: some quests needed to do in a certain amount of time or fail.

More personal quests: each of my companions have 1, I should have more (for example, in noble human origin look for your brother, kill Howe's son if you're evil; in noble dwart search for Gorim, etc). And more class quests: there's just a few if you're rogue, there should be at least 1 for each class.

More companions: Jowan, Gorim...

Voice in your own character

Weather (rain, snow...)

More traps, puzzles, laberints and side quests involving investigation (maybe not in the main story but optional and with a good reward at the end).

Unlock spell; and warriors should break chests (its content should be destroyed if it's fragil, remained if it's an armor/weapon or explode.

More interaction with environtment (a rope you can climb with xx dexterity or a wall you can pass with XX force).

A combat log: maybe something that displays more/less information depending on your party members class, level and abilities.

Play more with the 3rd dimension (rocks falling from ceilings, oil from caudrons...)

Better conversations with your party members, and between them. If for example Wynne speaks with Allistair about her child, I want to ask her about that.

Less lineal story and more options to resolve situations depending on your origin and your "aligment" and no more "hero saves the world".

Happy endings for every option, very difficult to reach but possible.

1. I think it would be amazing if the number of party members fighting with you could correspond to your level of difficulty. So, if you're playing easy you get the basic party of four, but maybe for difficult or nightmare you can have 5 or 6 so life doesn't suck so much.

2. Other characters start more conversations. I feel so nosy all the time.

3. If DA2 takes place right after DAO, then I'd like some of the same characters, but also new ones! More hilarious people! More romance options!

4. More places to go fight pointlessly to figure out everyone's strengths and not only megahuge quests where you're stuck with your party until its over

1) A better leveling mechanic (hate the way it's now, with loads of attribute points on levelup). Players physical stats should change very little from the start of the game.

2) new origins

3) a new story (new character)

4) no items restriction based on player level (I know you might say it's not in there, but it is, in a different form...the ever escalating attribute requirements for items coupled with escalating attributes - the result is pretty much the same) Needles to say I hate this too.

5) More and better weapon animations and types (two-handers and axes/mauls use the same animation set...fugly)

6) better scaling and proportions.

That's it.

1. Mention of your PC and how they ended up (say the new PC was a Gray Warden, have whoever is the recruiter/trainer be who you had doing that at the end of DAO or have it be in shambles if you had no one do that). I don't think I'd want the same PC because I like how she ended up. In order to keep her story interesting, it would end up getting messed up.

2. The option to make helms invisible at all times

3. Don't have the talk stop in romance options once you hit the point where they are in love

4. Be more careful about consistent endings (no more things like Anora asking about Alistair's sense of humor when he's DEAD, thank you)

5. Have there be more real consequences, even to good choices. Like in the Conner story, if you go to the mage's tower, have more people die because Conner takes advantage of the GW going away for a few days

6. Don't have your future king going out performing B&Es . . . The end of that quest line was really bad in terms of timing and broke a lot of the immersiveness. The quests are interesting when they have unexpected consequences, though (like the Crow quest line).

7. More options as far as faces and bodies go.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I don't think it would be possible to make your PC the main character of a sequel. S/he is a grey warden that dealt with the Blight, and the taint will make you insane. With all the possible choices it seems a huge task to make a game based on the player's choices. I've never played Mass Effect but aren't you the same basic Commander Shepherd regardless of gender/background? DA:O has the origins among other things that make it impossible to carry your outcomes to the next game. At least to me it seems wiser to set the game after the Warden's lifespan and have their legacy told as a general story about how they united Fereldan against the Blight. The next protagonist imo should not be a Warden, the game should not take place in Fereldan, and the only characters returning should be Flemeth, Morrigan, the kid, or any other that could have an unnatural lifespan.

I also think they could make the lip syncing a lot better, like they did in Mass Effect. Besides that I'm sure Bioware will deliver quality DLC and future games from this amazing story.
And the one thing I want (and I'm sure a LOT of other fellow fans will) for Dragon Age is a trilogy, with persistant character, choices, romances and evolving story. It's becoming a  defining feature of Bioware now, and I definately think Dragon Age should get the same treatment. Image IPB

Same main PC would be great. If the development issues for that is too great, then I'd like the second one to happen far into the future or in a different part of the world. I really don't want to be railroaded into someone else's "ending".

I want a quest where my PC finds some long lost Griffen eggs! Or a Griffen magically frozen that I can unthaw and then sick on my enemies. :)

1. Please don't give me the same pc, let the loose ends be tied up in a expansion so we can start a whole new tale in the next game.
2. more origins which give the player power, orlesian/nevarran/tevinter/ander (im keeping my options open) noble would be badass
3. new story with no connection to the previous one but with a codex that recognises the choices we made and notes them in the new games lore

heh oh boy. I feel like I wrote this thread in de ja vu for NWN2 before they fubar'd it up and sent to Obsidian.

1.Multi-Player gol-durnit!

2.Character models that are fat/thin.medium like in NWN

3. A manual for the toolset

4. I am a sucker for sequels so a continuation of your choice of campaign would be novel. At any rate Allistair would be getting toward the "crazy Grey Warden" section of his reign as king (unless he is drunken lout in your version). Imagine a crazy old Alistair, tried to have heirs but all of them are messed up because of the taint and so forth, eventually having to find a normal man to impregnate Anora. Then again that might be disturbing.

5. And of course I would like to jump and swim and ride a stupid mount of some sort! In most games we take that for granted these days.

1) Much improved story. Compelling throughout.

2) Improved, cinematic movies and dialog sequences like in Mass Effect 2 and Heavy Rain.

3) Consistently high presentation values - cutscenes/cinematic touches, architecture and environmental designs and pacing of
story. Much better pacing of story and combat. Ideally, the story sequences should carry more weight because of the
intense combat sequences that precedes them – and the gameplay should
feel more compelling because the story gives you powerful reasons to
care about the mission.

4) Fresh, original and interesting party characters who might banter, fight with you or each other, leave the party, etc.

5) Definitely more classes, and unique classes. Allow the option to combine
classes or multi-class, having a much deeper and
expansive character progression system that enables the player to
create a truly unique character that no one else has. Much more race/class specific skills and talents.

6) More armor, mages' robes (in particular) models cloaks and capes.
They're distinctly different from each other and reflects the various
cultures and lifestyles of each bands/races in Thedas.

7) Much more unique and awesome legendary items. They should feel like
they were handcrafted with care. Much more possible forging of items. Non-computer-generated loot system. They are each placed with care.

8) Revamped mana/spell system. Tons of more spells. Powerful spells are only accessed late in the game.

9) Fresh, mesmerising, diverse, non-repetitive and quality quests and dungeons.

10) Much more variety of interesting monsters.

I don't have much tips to improve on in-game material, but rather game mechanics.

- Dynamic weather/day&night.

- Fight anybody, anywhere.

- More party members (5-6), always the bettter.

That's about it. Coincidence or not, these are also what Baldur's Gate had but were missing in Dragon Age.
