1. Fully voiced PC characters.

2. Qunari as a fourth race

3. More dragons to conquer (those fights were the best)

4. More kills animations

5. Variety in gear- why do mages always have to have furry shoulders or rogues wear skirts all the time?

6. Ability to enchant armor as well as weapons

7. A storyline that incorporates multilevel tiered threats (as DA:O did to a certain degree). Having a villian who was more ruthless/evil/malicious would also be imperative.

8. I do not mind compromising graphics for better role playing dialogues within my party.

9. Less blight horde and more focus on the demons (who were much more interesting).

10. The opportunity for an epic mid game quest. I think that a climax-like "Save Lothering" quest would have been epic, instead of just suddenly seeing a skull and crossbones instead of the city icon. This would have fit in great after completing one or two of the allies quests...

1) same PC if possible, after all we are only approx 1 year post joining, so have approx 29 more years left

2)consequences from DAO, not just main quest lines but also Blackstone, Mages quests, ect.

3) at least some of the same companions if same PC (or find out what happens to them if new PC)

4)Longer or more NPC side quests- these are our friends, we need to help them if we can (or want to)

5)Enchantable bows and poisonable arrows

6)NPC banter, the gems of the game- loved it and want more.

7)more NPC initiated dialog- there is some in DAO and it is well done- more please

8)having the abitilty to develop your relationship further with love interest (if you chose to do so). Not sex, but more conversation.

9)Would love to be able to explore more of Thedas.

10) different enemy than darkspawn. Perhaps need to find new heir to Fereldan throne, after all chances for childbearing with any of the current options are slim to none. Could have intriuging political enemies (within and outside of Fereldan) with this plot line.

11) more of everything that is in DAO- great game

My only wish is that a Dragonslayer class becomes available that is specificially powerful against dragons, and deals normal damage against other enemies. The Dragonslayer class should have a set that is equally powerful with powerful armor that could have dragon fangs hanging of the shoulder pads and a dragonhead helmet.

1. Although Tyrone Shepard didn't have a fitting voice: Voiced PC like in Mass Effect

2. More Companion conversations as in not just two of them talking. (Imagine Zevran / Morrigan harassing Sten.)

3. More Varied companions ie: A Werewolf companion, a spirit from the fade, or even a demon that's been enslaved / you made a deal with. (Demon companion could work like lohgain where you lose someone if they join.)

4. More Items especially mid-tier items. I found too often i'd find something that gives to stats that's say tier 2-3 and it just being plain better then anything till tier 6-7 items that gives stats as well. There wasn't much gear progression my character went from starting gear to one other set till finally setting on his final stuff.

5. More Dragons not just more elder dragons but different varities maybe even make them replace the blight as the main threat. Could also include Wyverns as well.

6. More fights like broodmother, it sort of stuck out as it required you to pretty much micro all 4 of your companions properly to beat it rather then being able to say just kite an elder dragon around while your tactics cover the other 3.

7. Less knock downs / holds or more counters for it. Seems everything knocks you down if it's bigger then a dwarf and you simply don't have enough way if any to stop them. ie: The first ogre if he used hold that person is dead unless you have a stun and even then ogres seem to get a lot of successful physcial resists. Overwhelm is just as bad espcially when both your stunners get it on them at the same time. Elder dragons and the spider matriarch in the deeps roads being examples of where a hold ability is just plain cheap that forces you to bring a healer or keep everyone topped off as you have no other counter for it.

8. Either let kiting work or not. You can kite creatures that attack slow like orgres and dragons but if it's a 2 hand user you can be 20 feet from them and the attack will still connect as long as it started near you. Few ways to fix that:

Either make it so the enemy will switch targets if they haven't been able to attack their target after X seconds.
Have the current system where the enemy speeds up, occur faster so kiting only slows the damage you take.
Make it easier to attack while running. (My preference)
Or simply lock the two attack in place while the attack is in motion ((Not prefered)

9. Same main character with you now seeing the consquences of your choices. Even some of the minor ones ie: If you let you took the 25 gold from the Pride demon in deep roads there's now a village that gets attack cause of it and he gloats about it being a grey warden that allowed it.

As for your end choice from the first game simply have it where you start alone at the start allowing it to cover people that survived the end of the first game and it still work with new players.

10. More of the first game stuff - There's very little wrong with the game so a simple game that continues the story would be great to have. I realize sequels aren't always wanted but for this genre it really works.

1) Longer names, 10 letters is not enough, I want at least 11!

2) Storage place (at camp) and permanent residence site. Bagpack holding more stuff or small stuff count for less (and big for more). (specially before finding all companions carrying gifts around take loads of space and sell buyback sounds awkward.)

3) More enchantable itemtypes.

4) Many want more characters, I dont see it fit, except if the 5th is forced like the Dog. I really didnt use dog as it lacks something. You really need mage and rogue.  And dog doesnt have slots for equipment to make it better.  Other possible pets (for the 5th slot) if I dont want Dog.

5) Choices you make will carry longer (you can pick both awards easily by just reloading and choosing differently in last dialog).

6) Headgear that won't spoil face. Useless to make face when you hide it under helmet. Crowns, tiaras, headbands you name it.

7) Day-night cycles. Now dudes just stand in their position until the end of the world. Hey it was already in ultima 4 in the eighties when this was invented... (or at least first time I heard of it)

8) More slots for items or something. For example gloves could be separated, you shoulda be able to get uberglove in one hand and basic on the other. And why armor holds everything except feet, make it more partial: torso, arms, hands, feet, legs. Finding improving item is always fun and then it can be splitted to multiple locations instead of when you find one armor your done with it. More different weapons and make them make difference. Polearms are great when someone charges.

9) Way to go without a class, but not that effectively. Force chests open with magic or brute force, find traps without rogue but unable to disarm them.

10) More specializations, double specializations. Like if I want to be blood mage I can stick to it and dont have to meddle with other styles (yeah dont pick talents from them, but you still are spirit healer/shapechanger/arcane warrior).

Extra: Effects affect world too. Like fireball throwing things around and setting them into fire. Now you just can burn every character and it wont matter or even be seen on the room.

Anyway great game already Image IPB

A lot of people seem to be wishing more origin stories or longer ones, but I don't understand why they would do it again. Who would want to go through another "unique" Dalish or Dwarf commoner origin? We already had it in DA:O. They only had to use it in this first game because we weren't familiar with the game world. Now that we're through it, they can actually concentrate on a neutral background (or backgrounds) that will suit all races. More time to spend on the actual bulk of the game.

The player character's background didn't stop Baldur's Gate from being one of the best RPG series in the world.

Tin Pots and Garbage Can Lids

TIN POTS for Helmets and GARBAGE CAN LIDS for Shields, on my first play through as a warrior right out of the box that was all I could afford. Why play a game where I have to scrimp and save just to scrape two coins together, I have real-life for that. By the end of my first time through I could not afford even one of the premium items on sale throughout the game.

Enter Bodahn’s Tweaks http://social.biowar...m/project/1316/

Now the story line made more sense and did what it said it was going to do. Bodahn is appreciative of you saving him and with the recommended settings (SellMarkUp=0, BuyMarkDown=500) he will actually sell to you at cost (not that he has one) and buy from you at the same profit margin he was originally going to use on you.

You can now make a nice profit by supplying him and still buy things elsewhere that you could previously never have afforded. You can still get screwed by every other merchant in Ferelden, but now you have one working with you as he said he would.

Thinking about it, unless Bioware intended for Bodahn to be the lowest snake of a merchant in all of Ferelden, here’s the guy you saved telling you about your terrific discount and he’s bending you over every bit as bad as everyone else at least the merchant in Orzammar tells you all your good for is your gold. Hey Bodahn I’ll take that cheese knife now and run it through your gut, get out of my camp you weasel… your kid has to stay he’s the only game in town! This change/tweak is a must have.

1) More ways to interact with the world, aka disguising yourself and gathering information from characters you otherwise wouldn't be privy to.

- Buying/Founding a merchant consortium and spreading your influence throughout towns and cities; want to hike the price of weapons in a crisis? Now the people will be barracking at your door

2) More ways to interact with your companions, for instance getting dog to perform search and rescue type operations aka using his nose;

- or getting dog to create a distraction so you can sneak past enemies; then recalling him with a whistle

- having companions interject and talk to you about personal problems when you reach the friendship level with them;

3) Yeah you definitely need more weapons and armour sets WITHIN the game. DLC is NOT, NOT, NOT the way to deliver this content.

4) Should be able to take pack animals with you to lug your useless but profitable stuff to sell. In addition having these animals slows your progress on the world map and makes you a target for raiders.

5) Should be an equivalent spot and listen check skill in dragon age so that you can discover hidden areas; In addition this skill would be nice to discover secret doors; there should definitely be more secret doors; and more interesting ones at that. (with interesting loot)

6) Have better trees within the game; seriously have seen better from older games. Forests should look like forests, you know with undergrowth not a few weeds here and there.

7) Set pieces with bosses should not re-organise your meticulously placed troop positioning so you can get slammed with a fireball. This is telling you "their story" is more important then the story the player is trying to tell for him/herself.

8) You should be engaging with armies in full scale combat like the pre-game chatter indicated aka "large number of actors on screen at once".

- In addition the number of monsters/creatures is way too low and you come across the same mobs again and again in a dungeon, this = boring as it means the player just spam repeats the same strategy again and again all through a dungeon.

9) Use the colour palette seriously. Everything is like muted, where are the wildflowers of many hues, and the ambient greens of the outdoors.

10) Lower tier spells should still be useful even to higher level characters in combat situations; this was the beauty of d&d as a second level spell could be the key to victory against high end opponents in a long battle.

Well, I've seen a lot of these throughout the thread, but I will throw in my two cents as well. :)

1. Definitely able to continue with the main PC. I am playing a human mage again on my second playthrough, but I am doing a different spec and am going to make sure everything turns out how I would like it to. I have also invested a lot of time in thinking about my character and why and how she reacts to certain things the way she does, so being able to continue with her would be nice.

2. A lot of characters from the main game still around. I love it when a story continues, so if you remained friends or lovers with a character, they should still be there to continue the story, but with new friends too. :)

3. More character customization options. It would have been nice to be able to control height, weight, and other things. I'm sort of surprised that basically every woman and man in Ferelden looked exactly the same in terms of body type. That being said... please let Alistair keep those amazing abs. ;)

4. A fully voiced PC. The rest of the voice acting was so great! It would have been nice to have the PC have a voice so it felt more authentic.

5. I know that games enforce party sizes because of difficulty, but it would be nice to see all the characters travel with you and have their conversations and reactions. A great way to get around disapproving characters in the game is just to leave them in camp, which seems unrealistic.

6. I would like it if the characters talked to the PC more, like in KOTOR, when the game would tell you something was bothering them and to talk to them. I ended up just talking to my characters every time I was in camp, and it would have been nice if it were a bit more natural.

7. More of a visual variety in terms of armor. I would like for my arcane warrior to be able to wear a cloth skirt (like the Templar armor) and a breastplate, and I think capes would have been a lovely idea too. I was surprised that there wasn't more variety in the way things looked. It got sort of boring after a while.

8. More dialogue options in terms of romance. I know, I know, I'm a total hopeless game romantic, but hear me out. ;) I felt like there were points when my character wanted to talk to Alistair about something (like being able to have a relationship if he is put up for king, for instance), and there was never any dialogue regarding it. Towards the end, some of the conversations seemed a little rushed... I wanted more of that adorable Alistair awkwardness.

9. An expanded epilogue. While it was fun to talk to the characters at the end of the game in my ending, it all felt a little dry. It would have been nice to be able to play through an epilogue and to have something that wasn't just text to tell me what happened in the end, especially with the romance. Really? I don't get one final romantic kiss before we ride off into the sunset?

10. Of course, I want to find out what really happened when you completed the dark ritual with Morrigan. She doesn't ever tell you exactly what will become of the child, and I'm curious, even though I trusted her at the end because she was my friend and I had seen her change.

1. Qunari as possible main character

2. Able to use PC from DA:O

3. Unarmed combat options. Sometimes I just want to beat a hurlock to death with my bare hands.

4. Non-rogue options for opening locks. Like bashing them, an unlock spell, something.

5. Reorganized skills/talents to make more sense. I still don't see why pickpocketing is a skill for everyone but lockpicking is a rogue-specific talent.

6. NPC targeting. Sometimes it's fun to go on a killing spree in town. Even if the guards tend to disagree.

7. Consequences for theft/murder/etc... Really, I do think that killing people in the tavern should get one at least a little trouble from the guard even if the other person started it. And don't get me started on the RPG practice of taking everything that isn't nailed down even if it's in someone's private residence.

8. Continuation of plots/circumstances from DA:O. If I'm deep in a romance with Leliana when I port my save, it'd be nice to continue that. Also if I put Bhelen on the Dwarven throne, it'd be nice if he was still there, likewise if I chose Harrowmont.

9. More 'unusual' party members. The dog and Shale are nice, I'd like to see more unique characters able to join.

10. A Moral Event Horizon. An option a character can take that is vile enough that nobody wants to consider them a hero anymore, citizens run in fear when he comes to town, the guards try to keep him out and the darkspawn wonder why he isn't working with them already. I mean really, I've killed people on a whim, allowed demons to possess innocents, did everything but pee in Andraste's ashes and while my party has issues, the people of Ferelden don't seem to care.

hmm I've only played for about 20 hours so I have yet to make a full opinion on what can be improved.

-when one of my characters does the cut off the head animation, i think the head should land somewhere or fall off, not just disappear

-more puzzles like in the gauntlet

-higher level cap (im sure they will implement this)

-co-op via network (this would be AMAZING), sharing an adventure with a friend, nothing better
-i realize though this would be extremely difficult to implement due to the cutscenes

so far this is all i could come up with. I'm very satisfied with the game right now, we'll see if this changes after I give it a couple of play throughs.

1.) A single pre-made PC, with a speakable name and dialogue.

2.) Five-person party.

3.) More environmental detail. (Weather, day-night cycle, "Bethesda grass", etc.)

4.) The ability to initiate combat with any NPC whenever, wherever.

5.) Combat tactics that include Xs-and-Os battle planning, providing party members with movement assignments.

6.) Specialization-specific non-combat options. (Assassins assassinate, duelists duel, rangers...range?)

7.) Better variation of armor sets, with distinct and distinguishable appearances.

8.) More traps, ambushes, random occurrences--more surprises, in general.

9.) More role-play choices--outside of dialogue trees--that have a palpable effect on the game world. (Build/destroy, save/kill, good/evil, etc.)

10.) More damned dragons. It is called DRAGON Age, after all. (Perhaps a prequel?)

1. Hide Helmets option: I want this to be included, please! Some helmets just...they're just...blah! And I want to be able to do this for each character individually (some helmets are awesome, usually the full helmets)

2. Cloaks: I know these are difficult to do in any game, let alone one with such massive amounts of content like Dragon Age: Origins, but I would love love love to see cloaks (and consequently, hoods) somehow make it into the game.

3. More: More everything, I know, I know, but this is specifically concerning variations in robes, light armor, and medium armor. There just aren't enough variations, and aren't enough 'super' item/item sets, unlike Heavy/Massive. That's my opinion anyhow.

4. And even more: I'd like to see more permutations for faces and hair somehow. It's unfortunate, since Dragon Age likely didn't have enough room left, nor the developers enough time, to add more permutations for NPC faces and hairstyles, but I would love to see more of this.

5. More Origins: Of course! There has to be more of these. Human commoner, Human foreigner (Orlesian? Antivan? Ander? etc.), even an option for Mages to either be from the Circle or to be from the Collective (or simply be not associated). Of course, the origins already in game are all sooo good, too. I wouldn't want to sacrifice quality for quantity.

6. More Characters: The characters in Dragon Age are awesome! But if the writers had more time, I'd love to see situations where taking a particular origin path will result in you getting origin-specific characters in place of, or in addition to, the main side characters in the sequel.

7. More paths: This is likely my most absurd wish-list item, but I wouldn't mind seeing situations where we don't *have* to be a Grey Warden. Like, instead, we could be the leader of the Circle of Magi, as an example. Perhaps we could become a high ranking noble taking the fight to Loghain while supporting the Grey Wardens, rather than being a Grey Warden itself. Anyway, this idea is a little crazier, and taken from A Song of Ice and Fire series (one of the inspirations for Dragon Age!)

8. More indepth tactics: I wouldn't mind to have more options for tactics. More "if" "and" "or" "else" "then" options, rather than the "if" "then" options we have now.

9. Romance outside the party, and more romance options: I love the romance inside the party, it's awesome, and the effects the romance has on banter, priceless. But I'd love to one day see an option to have a romance with someone that doesn't fight. Kinda like having someone "Waiting for you" in some village, or city, or estate. Also, I wouldn't mind having 2 more options to give more depth of character: polyamory for particularly open people, and the ability to 'cheat' on your partner. I think one or both of these options in addition to the options we have now could add more depth and interaction and paths.

10. Simply more Dragon Age. Even without the 9 suggestions I made, Dragon Age is awesome. I want more! :D Thanks, BioWare :)

John Wayne in Ferelden?

Why carry around all that Blood Armor (taking up precious inventory slots) just waiting to level up enough to use it?
Because you don’t have anyplace it can be stored.
You can’t pawn it off to a merchant and it’s not economically feasible to sell it just to buy it back later.

Enter campsite storage mods:

http://social.biowar...m/project/1021/

http://social.bioware.com/project/463/

http://social.biowar...m/project/1072/

I personally used 1021, but one developer is actually making plans for a foundation and a cabin, a development, http://social.bioware.com/project/483/ which got me to thinking… its only human to have the need for storage, nesting, being a pack rat whatever you want to call it.
I may not be inclined to build a cabin while Ferelden is burning down around me, but I did on numerous occasions, as I explored, find myself thinking “You know this would be great country if it wasn’t for the war”.

The same #$%$ line John Wayne used in a lot of his movies; I found myself wondering about after the war; what would Leliana and I like? A small homestead on a hill outside of Lothering, maybe a cabin in Haven (ah!.. the mountain air) I wonder if the Dwarves would sell me some property outside the gates of Orzammar? Why not a little fishing place in Redcliffe and a cabin in the mountains both? If I’m successful enough and earn enough coin (see ‘Bodahn’s Tweaks’ this page) throughout the game why not indeed?

Games are about:
Story Line (Bioware you’re the best)
Combat
Exploring (the first few times thru)
and
Tinkering

Tinkering with equipment, upgrading weapons, creating potions, etc. why not give us the biggest tinkering devise ever dropped on mankind (besides a boat) …a home. A homestead, a cabin, a place to call our own, a place to raise a family and a place to defend against darkspawn …an in game investment. Obsidian explored this to a degree in the original campaign of NWN2 by giving us a keep to upgrade and defend. I don’t need to become a Land Baron, but some simple storage would be nice.

Bioware, you are warned!!!

Considering the smart, thoughtful and fun ideas listed here, you guys have no excuse for a DA2 that is anything but brilliant!

Now, get to it. Please.

I want an Origins story that has The Pearl as home. Be great to get to know the guy behind the "Well, aren't you the hardened warrior" line. And I'm sure if Duncan had ever dropped in, he would have recruited the proprietor (can't remember her name) on the spot. You just know she could kick some serious butt.

better tactics for the recruitable party members would be nice too.. i've said it somewhere once already, but why make one of the characters a shapeshifter and not give her a proper set of tactics to take advantage of it.. it made the shapeshifting specilization kinda pointless

Mr. Enchantment meets Ms. Enthusiasm

He was the only game in town as far as Runes were concerned, but wow! he has generated support for a return in Dragon Age 2 amongst the fan base.
My wish for the next installment is for Sandal not only to meet and fall in love with, but to also find a way of enchanting Dagna.
Dagna gets her wish of being able to perform magic, only the Bioware writers can figure out a good (plausible) way of making this happen, but my vote is for Dagna coming back.
The reality of the matter is I’d prefer Dagna as a party member to that witch-**** Morrigan any day, provided of course I knew where Dagna’s “off switch” was.

A Date with a Demon

Okay I agree it’s a pain to have to unlock skill sets.
One person didn’t want to have to play 18 hours just to unlock a skill set they intended to use with an NPC. Another player felt “dirty” after making the Blood Mage deal and reverted to a previous save before continuing on (at this point Blood Mage had been unlocked). These are mostly threads that can be found under a search for ‘Blood Mage’. Myself, I totally missed both Blood Mage and Arcane Warrior on my first time through.

[SPOILER ALERT] Fast Forward >, now I’m a Blood Mage (but still a good person) and an Arcane Warrior. I’m not going to un-do the Blood Mage part, but I need Bioware to do me a favor. The whole deal with the Desire Demon coming back for Connor in 18-20 years… in Dragon Age 2 I’m going to need to get back to the circle, find Connor (now in his late teens) and tell him of the deal I had to make on his behalf over a dozen years ago.

My intention is a re-run of the ‘Kitty Deal’ I said she could come back I didn’t say I wouldn’t slay her upon her return. So I’m still a good person, besides how bad is Blood Magic compared to what I had to do to become a Grey Warden? A different sort of Blood ritual/magic; needless to say my “fixing this” also necessitates my PC from Dragon Age: Origins coming back in the next game…and why not if Cmdr Sheperd can do it in Mass Effect 2? I would love to have a PC carry-over into the next Dragon Age, that will probably be no.1 on my Top Ten Wish List when completed.
