Congrats to Bioware for another raving success

can you feel the bitter and twisted hatred coming from the forums hate squad ?
for Bioware that must just be the icing on the cake

ROFLMAO

Must be sarcasm.

-Despite being british, I dont think AJ has that gift.

I actually pity those in charge of the economics of the venture if they sit and see sales being no where near desired projections, and then have people actually congratulate them on getting that much...

Must be horrible for them...

I would at least hope, given the games history, they didn't expect CoD sales though ya know?

Most of biowares games while popular and having huge fan love, dont exactly have mario or CoD numbers. So I would at least hope they were conservative in their estimates.

Still the numbers are by no means bad. Especially compared to the rest of the series at the same time period.

That's never been true and is the most hypothetical and illogically contrived thing I've seen from you this week.

how much is ME3 going for at retail in the US? even for the UK market, ME3 has seen some major discounting; much more than is typical so soon after release for a game being touted as one of the years biggest.

you can get the pc version right now from ASDA for £17 (it's been as low as £15), and you can easily pick up either console version for under £25.

while the pre-orders and first week sales were impressive, retailers don't discount this much and this fast for no reason.

on another note, i bought all the game-DLC for ME2, but have zero interest in buying any for ME3. did bioware ever release any info on how much revenue it got from ME2 DLC? be interesting to see if ME3 does better or worse, and if the ending controversy stopped people from further DLC purchases.

hmm...i wonder if MP booster packs will be enough to tilt it one way or the other.

That depends.  The cofounder thinks that 10 million is needed to be a major hit.   He regarded Dragon Age and Mass Effect as minor hits.  I guess ME is still a minor hit in his eyes.

Agreed. In the US for Xbox, ME3 sales have been trailing ME2 for the last three weeks. And that is after all the discounting.

And what about future sales? After this sh!tstorm I wouldn't expect people to line up for ME3 DLC. I'm not, you're not.

And we know nothing about production costs or sales projections except that they are both higher for ME3. That's not good for profit - especially with all the discounting.

No I corrected myself and found those statements to make sure. Your statements are just as terrible, you never have any facts and lie about everything else or ignore what you can't lie about.

Does look like ME3's sales dropped off so sharply that the game would no longer fit the formula VGC use.

I was looking at US Xbox sales on VGC because Xbox has the highest percentage of total sales and doesn't have any digital download unknowns and I was looking in the US because the data can be verified by other sources like NPD.

Sales for ME3 have dropped below sales for ME2:

Sales of ME3 are lower than ME2 for week 3, week 4 , and week 5.

True but you have to look at the sheer volume it sold in the first week. That is so much higher than ME2 that the smaller sales in the 3rd, 4th and 5th week are much less an issue.

ME2 3+4+5: 162,829
ME3 3+4+5: 148,563

Assuming the above relative sales rate holds for the future (might not, especially if Bioware re-releases the game with the "extended" endings included on the disk and it's met with positive reviews/fan reaction), then ME3 will pick up about 700k sales over an equivalent period of time as the one between ME2's 6th week of sales and the present. That'd give ME3 sales of 1.86 million compared to 1.64 million for ME2 over the same time period (+13.4%), which is much smaller than its current lead (+33.4%).

If, instead, the current lead held true over the long term, ME3 would have about 328k additional sales on top of that. In other words, the reduced long-term sales rate probably cost EA/Bioware $8.2 million in sales (for the XBOX 360 version in the United States alone). Assuming XBOX sales are ~60% of the total, US sales are ~92% of NA sales and NA sales are ~60% of global sales, that would put losses attributed to bad word of mouth in the ballpark of $24.7 million.

(And before anyone says it, a ~33% rise in sales from title-to-title isn't completely unreasonable. It's actually almost identical to the rise in sales between ME1 and ME2. And yes, a lot of that can be attributed to bringing the PS3 crowd in for ME2, but don't forget that they attempted to bring the multiplayer crowd (affects all 3 platforms) in for ME3)

NPD states 1.3 million (estimated) for North America during March which exlcludes all other regions and all digital sales as is an estimation much like VGC.

VGC estimates 2.14 million sold in North America in March. Why is VGC 65% higher? Digital sales for PC and PS3? Hmm...

Ac tually you're wrong, 2.14 is 360 sales only. Are you being a PI now for game sales just to try and knock a video game? dude, seriously, re-evaluate your life for your sake. Life goes on, companies will continue making money, you will still be dwelling on ME3. it's over.

We get it, your dreams, wishes, and promises were shattered. you didn't get an ending you wanted to a video game.. life is more than a video game.. I hope to you. its been 6 weeks... does a video game ending mean this much to you? I feel sad on the inside people like this exist

Says the guy disseminating thread after thread that points out sales are dropping...try again
