Which wepaon is better for an all-out Beserking 2H warrior?

Empress point:
40 Physical Damage
+4 Strength
+13% critical chance
+11% attack speed
+24 damage vs. demons and undead
2 rune slots

hawke's key:
38 Physical Damage
+4 strength
100% Armor Penetration
25% change to reduce enemy attack and movement speed
+4 Electricity Damager

I'm guessing that the Empress Point is better because of the extra 2 rune slots.  thoughts?

Thanks

Empress's Point is the best all-around weapon in the game IMO. Surely, there are better 2 handers for individual fights such as various elemental weapons. However the high DPS, the massive +13% crit and 2 rune slots, make it a best choice, especially if you want to play the game, not fumble with different weapons every encounter.

The best 2H weapon will be the weapon which you use the primeval lyrium rune on.

The elemental 2H weapons are very viable contenders for the 'best 2H' weapon (and thus the best weapon to put the primeval lyrium rune in) due to their innate ignore armour properties and elemental weakness bonuses. On nightmare, immunities will become a bit of a pain though.

If you have the dogs of war that will probably be the best weapon to put the primeval lyrium rune in due to how it improves with level-up. Of course if you're not in act 3 yet, runes won't play such a big role.

Anyway, of those two it'll probably be better to go with the empresses point for everything besides maybe heavily armoured enemies, especially if you're using a crit-build. Unless you're planning to take a tanking approach, a high enough dps means that the chance to slow shouldn't be that relevant (they'll die before they can deal too much damage). With a higher base damage, attackspeed, and critical chance (especially with two runes of striking) the empress point should have a considerably higher dps than the key. The +24 damage to undead/demons isn't much of a factor in the grand scheme of things, but extra damage never hurts.

I'd go with Empress' Point for the speed boost.

Ideally, I'd put the primeval lyrium rune in Dogs of War, since that levels with Hawke and never needs replacing. That's only significant if you plan to max out around lv 30.

If you are using Empress' Point or any weapon with extra damage to demons and undead, it will come in handy against Arcane Horrors and Revenants, who are probably my two most hated enemies, along with blood mages and their "red cloud of death".

With right equipment Hawke will have very high crit chance (Twins ring, Wyvern belt from mota Puzzle ring, Eddie's talisman, Gelgenig's hauberk), so I find +13% on Point much less valuable in that case. Dogs give you a massive crit dmg boost. If we're talking physical dmg weapons, I'd go with Dogs-it's ugly as hell, but it'll dish out good dmg. Yeah, the Key ignores armor but has no runeslots. Point is better against demons/undead, but switching physical weps just seems pointless. If you're already willing to switch, then it's only logical to go with elemental weapons. Myself I'd put PLR in Celebrant and carry Bloom and Sundering in the backpack.

As for Arcane Horrors/Revenants (hate 'em too) Bloom and Celebrant, respectively, will make a quicker work of them than any other warrior weapon (save for Edge of Night against Revenants, of course - spirit dmg, levels up and built in speed boost make it the best 1hander in the game, imo).

But back on topic, dmg-wise I dunno which physical weapon is best - depends od how good this 'ignores armor' on Key really is. Cause if it boosts dmg by more than PLR adds speed, than in my mind it's better. But I think we all agree we like to see Hawke fly across the battlefield with a big-ass 2hander, so PLR beats all ;D

Anyways, Berserker with 250+ stamina (I feel Adrenaline is heavily underrated) is a beast with any weapon, so just use what you like - you'll beat'em up regardless lol
