Nice list.. tho I doubt the reapers would classify themselves CE.

Edit:

Actually I'd flip the entire last row around.  TIM neutral, Reapers Lawful and Saren Chaotic

Did you read up on alignments before you made that?
Some of those don't feel right.

...for those wanting to play along or follow along at home. This is one of the best references for the 3x3 D&D alignment grid out there IMHO.

Garrus "Screw the regulations, let's just shoot the bad guy" Vakarian is Lawful now? And Samara is the incarnation of Lawful Neutral. Not saying your choice doesn't fit, but Samara might have worked better.
Also, Reapers "We impose order on the chaos of organic evolution" might not fit chaotic all that well.

There's no way that Garrus is lawful good. Garrus - who went vigilante on Omega and became "Archangel", the Batman of the Terminus Systems? Nah. I think in some playthroughs you can sway him to being a little more law-abiding, but remember that he leaves C-Sec because he's sick of all the red tape. That's why he and my Shep get along so well - they do the right thing, no matter what. And if the right thing means beating the crap out of a prisoner for some information, or jacking someone's car to chase a bad guy, so be it.

Even the quote you've given him is misleading "I don't know what to do with grey" doesn't mean he refuses to acknowledge moral grey areas - just that he, like everyone else, sometimes feels conflicted or confused as to which path to take.

And I'd say that the reapers were lawful evil. They're very regimented. They're not destruction for the sake of destruction - they have a strict purpose and they stick to that to the exclusion of all else. I'm not sure there are any "chaotic evil" characters in the game, except maybe the Blood Pack or some of the krogan mercenaries who just want bloodshed for bloodshed's sake. Kai Leng was pretty batsh*t crazy; maybe he's the closest you get?

As someone pointed out above me, Morinth is actually the perfect chaotic evil character. I'd forgotten all about her because she never survives my playthroughs!

Nice chart.  As people have said, Garrus is NOT LG.  I'd put Samara in that slot (maybe it's interpretation, but I'd view her as more good than neutral--she's like a paladin or templar, IMO).

I think TIM is perfect for LE, though there's a good argument for all the reapers being lawful as well.  It's just that TIM perfectly fits the LE archetype.

I'm also not sure Garrus fits into lawful good. I see him as more Neutral good. After all he was a terrible fit for C-Sec.

I'm also of the mind that Reapers=Lawful Evil, TIM is Neutral and Sarren is Chaotic.

(I'll hold my own comments on whether neutrality or chaotic alignments even exits in philosophy and just go with the examples I commonly see for the D&D alignments.)

Garrus is more "Neutral Good" like Liara IMO.

I'm not sure which main character would fit "Lawful Good"... Samara, maybe, but I agree with others that she is more "Lawful Neutral". Not even Anderson is Lawful Good, he breaks the law in ME1 to get the Normandy out of it's impound.

I felt like such a get that first thing that came into my mind is that is not batman that is D and D . And I am going to make myself feel like a bigger one by complaining about the alignments .

Garrus would not be Lawful good since many times he is playing outside the law when it comes to doing the right thing. I would give that to Anderson Pun(ching Udina does not count as unlawful lol. )

I am also not sure if you can call Saren evil, . He was doing what help save everyone. Remember ruthless calculus. That is what he was using .

I'd see Garrus as chaotic good. And Reapers are rather lawfull, more than anyone in fact since they are cimpletely mechanical.

Garrus is more Chaotic Good. He's a cowboy cop/vigilante type. Lawful good guys play by the rules, Garrus doesn't.

I can't think of anyone who fits Lawful Good particularly well. Anderson, maybe?

Its hard to apply this chart to ME characters, because they have very complex motivations.

I would switch TIM and the Reapers. Reapers are all about Order, not chaotic at all.

And Garrus isn't very Lawful either. Gets fed up with C-Sec and washes out of Spectre training. He's a vigilante.

Anderson breaks the law hard at the end of ME1 to free the Normandy.

I don't know who to put here. I guess Samara.

Garrus most definitely isn't lawful good.

And I can't think of anyone from the ME series that fits chaotic evil.

Ah, my bad. Had no idea. I was born in the 90s. I just remember the Batman alignment being a popular picture, so I based it on that.

Bah, you kids and your internet.

I dread the day when people just assume that "Inception" means "a thing with in a thing."

Mordin's more Neutral Good - same with Garrus.

Lawful Good would be someone like Kaidan.

Lawful Neutral would likely be the Council.

Don't know if I agree with Legion being True Neutral. He's very clearly 'good'.

As for Lawful Evil - definitely not TIM. He's very clearly one of the Neutrals. Depending on what perspective you look at him (his own, the Alliance's, or possibly Shepard's) you can classify him Neutral Good, Evil, or True Neutral. But he has no moral doctrine that dictates his actions - he actively lies and deceives in ME2, for the 'greater good'.

Don't think the Reapers should be on the list, either. Maybe Wreav would work better in that slot.

Just my 2 cents.

Samara: Lawful Evil
Jack: Chaotic Neutral (ME2) > Chaotic Good (ME3)
Hackett: Lawful Stupid (built the Crucible)
Catalyst: Chaotic Stupid
Harbinger: Chaotic Evil
Javik: True Neutral

Anyone wanna help?

And again, I apologize for my apparently bad judgment :

Seriously, read that link I provided. It has text descriptions for each of the alignments as they were originaly presented back when us older geezers were table-top role playing. That might give you some background for reslotting people.

For having no background except the original Batman meme, you did a pretty decent job. B)
