Well at least it's easy to avoid.

I normally don't switch characters that many times and I rarely host matches.

I got this and the only solution I got is to restart the PS3 :-(

i will try the steps above to avoid this bug. It does seem to occur if I change characters. Zambayoshi is right, only solution so far is to restart the PS3. Will post if I still have this problem (without changing characters).

Does it corrupt your hard drive?

I hope not, it would be a disaster. But it is unlikely since the PS3 is still responsive when this bug occurs (HDD indicator constantly flashing), thus I could still safely quit the game and turn off the PS3, unlike the freeze bug where the only option is the hard reset. One thing to note is that prior to patch 1.03, I have not encountered this problem.

I've had this issue dozens of times and I can say no.
You can even go afk and wait until the game is finished but as I said, it's practically unplayable.

I think this glitch can be reproduced in other ways. Playing several consecutive matches will often result in performance loss, hosting or no. I've noticed there are usually warning signs that your objective waves are going to glitch, like frequent sound errors or framerate drops or graphical problems.

yes it basically reminds me of the 90s when you didn't have enough RAM and your computer would start writing a huge page file to your HDD during gameplay

confirming that this bug is encountered by playing consecutive matches in MP. Usually is triggered after 2 to 3 hours of play.

Also having this problem. Occures very frequently and is extremely annoying, to only be able to play like 3 matches and then have to reset... The freezing problems have seemed to stop for me but now this framerate lag happens three times as often as it used to.

I was wondering if I was the only one that this was happening to, at least now I know I'm not alone. Hope Bioware sees this.

I had this happen to me a few times, one I think because a vanguard glitched.

I've had this a lot of times before 1.03. Dunno if it's because I'm playing less, but after 1.03 I didn't get it once. Anyone experienced this bug after the patch?

A few a hours ago, I played a game where the host had the bug. So scratch part of what I said.

We played 2 bronze matches, one against Geth and the other against Reapers. Then the host switched to Silver for two games. We beat Cerberus once with no issues, but on the second game, after a hacking mission on the third wave, his game started to lag.

i do noticed thought that I encounter this bug after playing for more than two hours. ave match is 30 minutes, so I think around match five. As a workaround, to avoid this bug, is to quit the game after four matches, shut down the PS3, and start the game fresh.

It is frustrating especially when this occur on wave 9 to 11.

this has been my experience. i restart ps3 as soon as it starts to get real bad and this fixes it for the most part.

happened to me a few times this week now as well. usually after 3-4 matches. i feel bad cause i had to leave my team of only 3 on silver during wave 9. even after the matches, the lag will still be there, and the only solution is to restart my ps3.
