Don't space out. It's not too good on the eyes.

I don't have too much of a problem with hunter mode either, but it does go to borderline uncomfortable. Perhaps if they simply contrasted the colors a little better and sharpen the image a bit, it would help.

It doesn't hurt my eyes, but I think it's selfish to ask other people to be uncomfortable because it looks cool. A gameplay feature shouldn't cause any player physical discomfort.

Hunter mode looks awesome and I don't want it changed either. Neither does it hurt my eyes. People are complaining about minor things again just like with the krogan rage and the adrenaline rush power.

Lol.

A person's health is being affected.

"Minor issue"

Yeah, no. They can fix the issue and still make it cool. To think otherwise means you have no faith in bioware creativity, which created the damn mode in the first place.

They better not change it. It's the best damned thing they ever added to the game. I no longer care about all those annoying smoke grenades. And I can blow enemies away right through the wall.

How the hell does altering the mode to reduce eyestrain in any way means the mode itself will lose functionality?

Logic! Use common sense people!

I feel no strain on my eyes when using this, and actually find normal game play vision unpleasant in comparison to HM.

I guess everyone is different.

Been playing for 6 hours now with brightness on -2.
No eye strain at all compared to when I didn't lower the brightness.

Or like, ya know guys... Bioware COULD just add an option to turn off that light-up-the-screen special effect. That way ppl who get eyesore from it win.
Cuze some ppl really DO like the thing and they don't get headaches and such, just sain' -.-
( I actualy like it but understand that some have health problems from it :P )

sure you can, just don't focus, let your eyes kinda space out and then no more problems.

I don't have a problem with hunter mode, but I do have a lifelong problem with both photophobia (not a literal fear of light, but that light is painful to the eyes) and headaches, and I don't find spacing out helps with anything except not paying attention.

You don't really need to focus and pay too much attention when your peripheral vision can see every enemy on the map.

I actually use Gunnars, and it doesn't bother me much while I'm wearing them. However, when I don't wear them.... well, that's another thing.

Sorry, I want to keep my eyes healthy. I'd rather have a game that didn't look as cool, than a game that causes strain on my eyes.

It's more of a TV problem than anything. If you have a high end TV and play on good, crisp color options, it won't bother you at all. I love it. All it does is make it look bright.

I do this, brighteness turned down about halfway, and it's still very difficult to use. My eyes actually feel genuine relief when I disengae the mode.

It needs changing because it affects people in a horrid way.

It could look cool without causing people actual pain.

I don't have my brightness turned down, I actually use a mode called "Dynamic" on my TV. It makes everything crisp and colorful. I could see the problem on lower end TVs or standards though. That must be horrible.

Didn't know anything about gunnars until you mentioned it.  Just looked it up.  Awesome.

And that should tell you that the Hunter Mode is at least too bright. What is your normal brightness? If you have to bring the overall brightness down for one ability then it is the ability that needs changing.

Sounds like you need more points in eye fitness... level 6 upgrade works wonders.

Don't change the excessive brightness of Hunter Mode! It's really artistic and people who hate it just aren't smart enough to understand it.

If Bioware changes Hunter Mode, artistic integrity will have lost, and videogames will never be art.

... though I guess it would be okay if they release some free DLC to clarify and provide closure on the meaning of Hunter Mode.

Hunter mode is not designed for human eyes, but for Geth! Stop whining and live with it.

This ^^^^^

I find it strange because I don't find it any problem at all with Hunter Mode and I have a 43" Pioneer plasma TV that is 10 years old.  I was expecting it to be eye searing awful but it isn't at all. I have my brightness set on -1. I wonder if the ones having problems have their contrast turned up too high (and yes, that WOULD make it really bad). Colour saturation is another possibility.

If you want a game that hurts your eyes then play Syndicate single player. That game will give you eye cancer I'm sure...

Oh yeah and the fire from Pyros and the fury effects are both worse than Geth Hunter...<_<

It's weird that some people are so sensitive to this.

I get an eye strain headache once a week on average because of all the time I spend on the computer at work, gaming or doing other stuff. Mostly from work.

And yet, hunter mode doesn't bother me. It's a bit disorienting at first, but after 5 minutes I don't even notice it. It actually becomes comfortable.

I get migraines when the brightness goes too high in some games... my eyes stream too... COD games are the worst for this (might be the update rate but I dunno). ME3 is not one of the games that strains my eyes though.

If you think Hunter Mode is bad then NEVER touch Syndicate... Just look at this...

That's only single player though... The multiplayer is awesome.

An option to reduce the effects would be nice. As it is now I can't really use the hunter mode, I just get really nauseous after 10-15 minutes.

My monitor is pretty good, so dont really think that's the cause of it.

Oh well, i'll just stick to the other classes an hope some kind of fix comes along :-)

The only part that irritates me is the needless flickering, like the overlay in Kane & Lynch 2 - it's bleedin' awful!

The hunter mode looks so freakiin cool so please don't change it.  For those who complain about it hurting your eyes just man it up and play through it or turn the brightness lower.  When I have hunter mode on it doesn't effect my eyes at all because i dont have super bright settings which you guys most likely do.  Don't ruin the fun for others not effected by this.

I don't care if you think it "looks cool" its way to bright and diustracting. It hurts many people's eyes and needs to be changed. They can tone it down and still have it "look cool".

Accessiblity is more important.
