I approve of this thread. Don't change Hunter Mode, I've had no issues with it at all. Honestly, normally people ignore that old adage of not sitting too close to their tv because they think it really doesn't cause a huge amount of strain. But when there is a high end graphic such as the Hunter Mode you really should just move away from your tv/monitor. I sit about 8 feet from my tv and I have no problems sitting in Hunter Mode all day, also I can see all the objective indicators fine.
TL;DR - Stop blaming BioWare for issues with Hunter Mode, use some common sense and back away from your tv/monitor and adjust your settings.
So...PC uses that are limited in their available distance to move away from the monitor are out of luck? Think bigger than your XBOX (HUEG) next time you decide to pass fate for everyone that has physical issues with this.
If your PC's monitor doesn't have a brightness/contrast setting I have to question if your PC is even new enough to run pong.

My monitor is very nice, large and has more options for enhancement than I can shake a stick at. The point of this matter is I shouldn't have to do any of that for two characters in a game. Period.
Just for clarity's sake - the people asking for a change want it to be a toggled option. This wouldn't affect any of the naysayers proudly standing on their soapboxes saying it would ruin the game and calling everyone with the painful issues a whiner. So classy, that. There could be an option to have it both ways.

I read his/her posts. I still see the complaints as pointless. Problem? The majority of people don't have a problem with hunter mode. That doesn't make me a troll.LordVolrath1 wrote...
I'm guessing TexasToast712 hasn't been. Quite frankly I believe people like this are just trolling, as what most people are asking for is a "toggle" option etc. which won't affect people who like the effect as is. Why is it such a big deal for some people for us to have the option?
Well if you're having a go at people because they are suffering physical discomfort from the effect, and that what is being asked (not demanded) to be put in place to deal with it, which mind you if they do, won't affect you one little bit. Then yes that does make you a troll.
I also can't see how not being in the majority (Not that you could possibly know who's in the majority) has anything to do with it.
Sure Bioware may not do anything about if there aren't enough people having issues with it, but that doesn't mean it hurts to ask.

Says me. I am not going to readjust my monitor after it has been nicely calibrated for all others things I use this for. Furthermore, why don't you address the second paragraph that outlines this could be an option and wouldn't ruin a thing for your gaming experience. Your trite remarks are boorish now and colors you poorly.

Rather than the team waste time adjusting something that annoys a very slight minority, I rather they work to fix actual problems with the game.justgimmedudedammit wrote...

Show me your proof this is slight. This is, to some extent, more game breaking than a glitchy VG since people actually suffer physically from the view when engaged.

IMO, hunter mode is not meant to be always on, you just light it up for 30 seconds, to wipe out nearest enemies, then turn it off again. This should be timed feature, to use it when really needed

To all hunter mode complainers. When you play you have huntermode engaged the whole time, so why not turn your brightness lower than usual before entering the game?? problem solved with minimal effort. Its not that difficult stop looking for something to complain about please so we can actually have threads that are productive
You just don't get it, do you? Problem solved is not having to change anything with your hardware.

I hardly consider physical discomfort (causing pain and/or nausea) as an annoyance. So if I understand correctly from your comment, you basically you have a problem with them doing anything which doesn't directly benefit you. I'm begining to think you're just bitter about the issues you have with the game not being address yet, hmm, and feel the need to take it out on other people.

Because being able to see things is supposed to be the point of the mode - so why should I make things darker?
I love the "solutions". Make things darker, harder to see. Or turn things off completely. Problem solved!!
For everybody who is whining about how much work and effort this would be on Bioware's part - let's have a reality check here.
It's probably a single asset, and maybe one line of code to adjust the blur (if that's even necessary - probably not).
The real problem will be the unleashing of all the threads about how it doesn't look "cool" anymore. Remember that when you think these forums are productive.

Yeah you're right - everyone knows that 30 different threads about a topic is so much more desirable by the moderators than one longer one.
And speaking of bumping threads, you might look into a mirror.

Well my problem with it is not with the brightness, it's with the "double image" (in fact it's actually more than double). So unless there is some kind of magical setting on my monitor that I can switch to fix it, then there is nothing I can do on my end.
I get the impression that people just assume that the only problem people have with Hunter Mode is the brightness, which isn't true. From what I've read it seems that out of those having issues with Hunter Mode, brightness is in the minority. More people have a problem with the double image and blur.

I agree that brightness isn't really the whole issue, and for a person with my eyesight situation, actually lowering the in-game brightness from what I have it set at diminishes my capacity to play the game well in general. For those of us who do have health problems that Hunter Mode interferes with or may exacerbate, "changing the brightness" and "sitting farther back" from the monitor are ridiculous suggestions.
