 I found him really ignorant,boring and as though my shepard would be a bit more bad ass towards him instead of dropping what ever i was doing and saving some **** ass scientists.

Hackett always got your back, though, and he never questioned your choices. He asks Shepard to do all this insane stuff because he's confident Shep can deliver. One of my favourite characters in the trilogy, really. Doesn't hurt he's voiced by true sci-fi legend.

I've always really liked Hackett.  Might have something to do with the VA.  Always loved Lance Henriksen

I thought he was an awesome character. I wish there was some backstory on him but other than that small issue, he was a likable character that never judged you

Not true though, there were plenty of examples in one of the other threads when he preferred to stay away when Shepard could really use his help.

Hackett's cool. He's the only member of the Alliance that didn't manage to ****** me off at some point. Looking at you, Anderson, VS, Udina, random defense committee retards.

In ME1 Hackett was borderline closet badguy. There was the business on Luna with the rogue AI he claims doesn't exist and there was the bit where Hackett tries to manipulate a renegade Shepard into killing a red sand dealer that Hackett may have wanted to get rid of for reasons of personal implication.

Then in ME2 Arrival Hackett sends Shepard on a special mission straight into a trap set specifically to lure in and capture Shepard. Hackett could have sent any number of N7 operatives or a whole team to effect a rescue. There just is no logical reason to contact and send Shepard while Shepard is both affiliated with a terrorist organisation and known to have been previously KIA.

I don't have anything to say against Hackett as far as ME3 goes unless it turns out that the Crucible is a trap, but at present that's..... SPECULATION!!!!

I know, it's weird.  Everyone was upset that you never spoke to Hackett in ME2, so they made him part of Arrival, and most people think he was the best part of that DLC story-wise.  Maybe these new haters never played the first two games and don't realize how awesome he is?

I agree it does get boring being bossed around by him though.
