I think that has something to do with Hackett being an 010 Fleet Admiral and Shepard being some random 04 Commander..

I loved Hackett, the only thing that made me mad at him was when he stole my speech to the fleets before the battle at Earth. Still, I forgave him since he sounded so god damn badass.

I can't see why anyone would have a problem with Hackett... What did he ever do to anyone that he wasn't supposed to do?

He's currently aggravating me in ME1, as it's my first replay, and I forgot that he calls you like every freaking time you open the galaxy map.

BUT, overall, I think he's awesome. A fantastic Admiral character - good judgment, good speeches and leadership, and not afraid to work outside his own chain of command if it'll benefit things (like in Arrival).

Yeah, I was very very upset by this too.

Come on, Shepard's speech before the final Collector battle was truly epic !

He did all the work, only for Hackett to come and steal his 15 minutes of glory.

This, I really liked all these debriefings after the mission with him and Anderson, much better than just a screen like ME2.

Admiral Hackett is great and Lance Henrikson really brings him to life and makes him a believable character. I never felt as if he was bossing me around in the game, but even so, he's Shepards CO and has that right. The only thing that peeved me about Hackett was that after sending Shepard alone to Aratot, a mission that went spectacularly wrong and resulted in Shepard being arrested and grounded, he never came forward and stood up for the commander with the truth behind why the Bahak system ended up being destroyed. Hackett should have come clean as to why Shepard went in there and in the game we never ever saw reference to that. Besides that though, Hackett is cool but I actually prefer Anderson...

I found Hackett to be a quest-hook for the most part, but that doesn't deserve my hate or annoyance. As a quest-hook, he was better than some of the alternatives.

Admiral Hacket is great. And he is voiced by Lance Henriksen. Very good choice...imo.

I honestly think some people just hate anyone who gives them orders or hits or doubts shepard
