How Alpha Protocol got a worse score on metacritic than Dragon Age 2 I have no idea.

AP has awful controls, AI, graphics and bugs and less than interesting characters and story. Dragon Age 2 doesn't have those failings.

Dragon Age 2 has awful writing, graphics, bugs, less interesting characters, the world I've ever played in a rpg, terrible combat and bad dialogue system.

Child of Eden. Both underrated (there's some reviews full of praise) and criminally overlooked. It's the best game to play while drunk.

Did some digging and found my Arcanum discs.

Also found my Battlefield 1942 pack, C&C Red Alert 1 & 2 complete, Total Anihalation, A lot of my old Sierra adventure games (King's Quest, Space Quest, Quest For Glory, Gabriel Knight)  I held on to a lot of PC games.

You're confusing you liking it more with universally better.

What this person said. She knows the truth. Hell if it weren't for the banter between four characters, there would be no need to play DA2, since everything else is so lackluster. AP on the other hand is a diamond in the rough.

This whole thread is all opinion, so no, I'm not confusing anything. Alpha Protocol is a far better game than DA2 in my opinion. Obviously, in yours, it's not.

Brutal Legend and Vanquish.
I think Vanquish sold almost a million, but that game is amazing and I'll keep plugging the Battlesuit clip as much as I need to to get people to play it.

Get hype

Shadowman was crazy...

I still remember that part where you go to the Asylum and you see the rooms for each of the serial killers. It was like shrines for the greater evil. You had to go in their world and kill them...man that was some freaky stuff...

I remember that...super fun. Youre right though, it was scary. I had a blast with that game...it was big and Zelda-esque and pretty mature. Lots of content and some very scary stuff. Definitely underrated.

I liked Jaunty...remember him?

Yea lol. He was a crazy character. I remember the second Shadowman was a bit disappointing.

Metro 2033.

Great atmoshpere, nice graphics, yeah the stealth sucked but eh. One neat thing is the contrast in it. Half the game consists of balls to the walls shooting against tunnel monsters, flying demon freaks and human bandits while the other half is struggling to survive against psychic, demon monsters. 9/10

Dark Corners of the Earth.

Dat atmoshphere. Scares the **** out of me when it really gets going. Also knows the meaning of pacing and does not hand you a machine gun on the very first level. It does take a while to show us the monsters. While pacing and self-restraint is important, there is a thin line between atmospheric and just making ****-all happen, to quote Yathzee. 8.5/10, at the very least

I forgot to mention No One Lives Forever. One of the very best games ever, imho. Really long SP campaign, ton of funny dialogue, smart enemy AI, gadgets, ton of weapons and incredible level design. No One Lives Forever 2 is almost as good as the original.

. Also the 1997 version of Blade Runner for PC was a decently made RPG that has gone unnoticed because it has nothing to do with the film, but it links back to it in a lot of places.

Yeah, it's not. The story's nothing like DA:O and the world isn't designed like Skyrim. Have you even looked into it?

One game that was always underrated was IO's Freedom Fighters
Image IPB
Think Red Dawn taking place in Manhattan with a big conspiracy woven into the main characters. It's a squad based third person shooter with one of the best soundtracks ever produced for a game. If you like shows like Jericho and books like Tomorrow When The War Began, then you'll love this game.
