I agree with everyone saying Alpha Protocol: great story, interesting characters and choices that matters packaged with clumsy gameplay and average graphics. I love it.

I also think that Enslaved was overlooked by too many, but it's not really underrated: it got some nice review scores.

Call of Cthulu: Dark Corners of the Earth

One of the scariest games I've ever played and for good reasons.

Anybody ever play the obscure original Clock Tower on PS1? The other games in the franchise are nothing like it. You have to run from a serial killer and completely helpless. Scariest game I've ever played. I almost pee my pants when I played that...

Haha, I remember this game. It actually annoyed the crap out of me when I first played it. Enemies would stand behind structures and you couldn't see them. The controls were pretty bad in that game too.

I went through all those pages but couldn't find

Vampire:The Masquerade - Bloodlines

Mentioned anyware. Image IPB  ...really, strange...

Originally sold like 70,000, much thanks to pirates Image IPB who spread the word that it was buggy. IMO one of the best action'ish RPGs ever made for the PC.
(I believe it's available from Steam, and there's a big patch somewhere that put all original content - which wasn't in the published version, forced early release - back into the game. Patch is compatible with the retail version. Don't know how it handles Steam.)

Ah yes! That game was awesome. Also had some great community patching/mods!

I played it on release. The bugs weren't so bad. Really. The game was quite playable. You just had to save often, kinda like DA:O early on. Patches were released almost on a day by day basis, and constantly improved the game as well. But the pirates didn't have access to those I suppose.

I believe it was the fired developers themselves who put the content back in, on their own time, in those later patches.

Sacrifice. A truly original game both in art direction and gameplay. For those who don't know its a RTS where you play as a wizard in a crazy world, doing tasks for competing gods. You gather souls to create an army of bizarre, insane creatures and capture mana towers to power your wizard's spells. Its not like a traditional RTS though, because you play from a 3rd person perspective as your wizard. It can be tough to keep track of everything but its a blast, especially once you start unlocking spells like volcano or hurricane.

The game is chock full of zany, almost disturbing humor, great VA for the gods, and awesome art design. It still looks fantastic today. Check it out if you get a shot, i think its on GOG for like 5 bucks.
