The starchild learned to swallow its pride and squash its ego, why don't you man up and do the same thing?

We know that a child trusts the parent. We know that followers of a god trust in their god and follow his orders. If you studied human culture you would know these basic principles.
The creator of the reapers did two simple things:
1. showed itself to you as a child.
2. gave you control
So you're saying that I should trust a child because it's a child and simply take whatever it says as granted?
Sorry, but if it had given me control, this child would be dead by now.
The reapers gave you control and showed itself to you as a child. If that isn't humility I don't know what is.

You trust that child because you have no choice. The reapers are still more powerful than humans. Even though it is still in control it chose to gave up its control. That is a beautiful thing, this is why the ending is so profound to me.
I know though. It's called deception.
Hmmm you think control, synthesis & destroy are all lies?
I can't prove that the starchilds homeworld was devastated by AI. But sometime in the starchilds life it must of been scarred by an AI somehow. This is a logical conclusion devoid of objective evidence. Bioware intended for us to speculate and this is a strong speculation. Legion states that the mind of the reapers were once organic. Given the fact that organics are destined to run into problems with an AI we can safely assume the starchild was harmed by AI at one point.
That's not actually true. The Reapers' minds are organic. Legion says that as well - the Reapers are very similar in their way of thinking to the way the Geth think and work; as thousands of programs forming one hive mind but unlike the Geth, these programs do not form a network. They are completely independent. To quote Sovereign on that:

Check this out, start at 1:00 minute. It's what legion talks about regarding uploaded organic minds and reapers. Maybe you can clarify on this.
"We are each a nation. Independent. Free of all weakness."
Legion has never said that their minds were once organic. All he said was that Nazara interacted with the Geth on the same level the Geth interact with each other - exchanging data FTL. That is a Synthetic ability, not an organic one. Reapers are simply made of organic genetic material but what the effect of this is has never been clarified.
Hmmmm... I hate meta gaming but the legion video was forced on me by the viewers and I can't forget what he said (from ME2). It's too important I think.
As for the Starchild, you're grasping for thin straws there, Luz. It really is strong speculation, but nothing more. There is no real indication that the Starchild was in any way organic at all. It talks with logic, with nothing but mere logic, which is why the child-thing doesn't work as well. If this Reaper master would really want you to accept it's truth easier by showing itself in the form of a child, then it did not do a very good impression of a child. This is the coldest child I have ever seen, my Shepard would not have believed one word it said (and btw my Shepard is an atheist).
You don't have to, that is why I used the "parent" argument as well. The concept of sloth can be translated into "lazy". If you were open minded you would interpret this with great ease.
I know what sloth means, don't worry. And again, the Reaper master did not do a very good job in imitating the form of a child to make Shepard more willing to accept it's logic. And it didn't give me any control either, other than me having to choose from 3 narrow-minded endings. Other than that it was the child exerting control on me.
As for the rest, does not belong here. Rest assured, I have nothing to feel bad about.
Like I said, Legion said the minds of the reapers were uploaded organic minds. Let me look again just to be sure.
Here is the exact phrase, maybe i interpreted it wrong.
Shep: "You know what they were didn't you?" (they as in reapers)
Legion: "Transcended flesh. Billions of organic minds, uploaded and conjoined within immortal machine bodies.
"each a nation"."

May be Luarius is right about this one! Did anybody check the codex of any of the first two ME games yet? Is there any entry regarding male homosexuality? Or at least lube?Luzarius wrote...
I try not to invent realities that aren't present in the game. Until male on male is introduced in the game the concept doesn't exist.
Goddamit now I cant stop hearing that codex narrator doing the lube entry.
"Due to the girth and flesh spikes of the average Krogan genitalia, a new blend of medi gel lubrication was required to allow Fornax......"
Best post in this thread.
If you ignore the bulk of what the OP says and just watch the responses, it's incredibly entertaining.

All I was saying is that out of respect for homosexuals male on male should of been introduced in ME1 not ME3. In dragon origins male on male was introduced right off the bat.

Such a tolerant Luzarius... and yet you wanted to sell FenFen into slavery for being a bisexual right off the bat xD
Quoted for truth. As I said before "Open minded" single most hilarious line coming from Luz. (And oh hai ior)
I suppose it's lucky for me though you wanted to sell Fen into slavery for being bi, it made me realize that you function on insane troll logic.
I give you props though Luz, while I see many self superior trolls telling people they're morons and that the ending was art none are quite so longwinded about it.

Second...while again, I'm a believer in Indoc and honestly believe that the Star-kid's intentions were bad, I actually HAVE been considering the possibility that Harby might be a puppet. Every time we ran into him in ME2, it was controlling something else. All throughout the game, we were lead to believe that the Collector General was the one doing the controlling; then right at the end we had the reveal to Harby. Each time we saw a being who was being controlled, it had bright yellow glowing eyes. What's the first thing we see when we see Harby? Bright yellow glowing eyes, something NO other Reaper has. Could be coincidence, could be that his victims are showing 'his' eyes, but it's still odd. *sigh* The big problem with this theory is the same one(s) attached to the Star-kid, that if the Reaper 'Brain', if you will, is housed on the Citadel, then why did Sovereign need to activate the Citadel? Aside from the Protheans messing up far more than they realized (they accidentally cut the spinal cord?), I still don't have an answer for that one, and if this was the direction Bioware was going, then some explanation would have been nice. >.<
I'm going to have to disagree with you on the Catalyst's intentions. There is too much other evidence for me to believe that the Reaper controller was actually waving a white flag at the end, particularly considering the choices it gives Shep. They tie in too well to what the Reapers have already been doing, and the one choice that doesn't is made to sound horribly unappealing.
One final thing. I don't know if you're aware of it, but you come off as arrogant. If you are trying to get people to consider new ideas, you'd have better luck if you didn't insult them from the very start. (Bioware made this mistake with that first blog post they published addressing the 'controversy'.) While as a pro-ender you're already starting with a handicap to your ability to convince people on the other side of the fence, being rude doesn't help. *points up at the thread title*
