Wrex isn't dead in my game but he's too busy making babies to run around with me.

When he was first annouced last year, I hated him. After playing the game, I actually liked him as a character and squadmate. Freddie Prince Jr really did some great VO. Wrex or Grunt would have been a better choice but he wasn't as bad as what I thought he was going to be.

The teammates you get were low in numbers.
And Jersey effect + wrex is a leader of nation, he needs to lead his people not flying on the normandy.

The real question should be why no Grunt?

Wrex is a Vanguard. Vega is a soldier. Without Ash, you don't have any soldier in the team. Guess who they added to compensate?

I wanted Wrex, it would have completed the ME1 squad all back together again.

Can be many reasons.

For example I played Prince of Persia in order  2-1-3. First part simply didn't look interested for me and I return to it after experience with Enemy within.

Or KOTOR. My comp was too old to manage first part and when I got new one, I was able to buy KOTOR II, but KOTOR was sold off everywhere.

And there is also new young generation of gamers, who looks on graphic first. Older game look too "boring"  for them and they rather start with newest and maybe then return to old ones (I saw this many times with Gothic series, where was big graphic jump between G2 and G3).

I don't know about this reasoning, if you look at the squadmates and who could die, soldier isn't the only job you could come up missing.

Wrex has only died for me once in all my playthroughs...and Ashley got a front row seat to the fireworks on Virmire.

Main problem should be that with Legion there are even two options when he didnť get it to ME3. He could die at suicide mission and he could never leave his tank. Some Renegate players would have a little problem  with manning Normandy. They just need another solid character to game, so newbie Vega.

Wrex has his entire species to lead. Sad to say, but he is too important to go on dangerous missions at this point. Grunt on the other hand SHOULD HAVE joined the squad after the Rachni missions. If you saved the Rachni queen (again), Arlakh Company is all but decimated. This would have been the perfect time to join his old krannt and Battlemaster.

Was I only the only one that found Vegas a annoying and I cringed every time he called me LOCO. I avoided using him at all times possible. Human Soilders are boring.

I think Vega is great, and has a lot of nice little convos. Just did the mission when you go to get the Turian group on Tuchanka with Garrus and Vega. Got some really good banter, Vega is irritated at all the politics, Garrus lectures him a bit and calls him lieutenant. Thought it was great, Garrus has completely different banter with Liara, because they are friends. Vega and Garrus, then you see the senior role of Garrus, training a younger soldier. I like it, shows how the characters have developed and the background info is good for new players.

Every character who could die was given the smallest role imaginable (including the VS), or a role that could be filled by some generic replacement, except for Garrus and Tali.
The real quetion is, why does this surprise you?

Because wrex decided to lose his minds and commit suicide half way through the game....very bad decision. Truly sad, I always thought him more reasonable than that but what could I expect from a Krogan?

The last chapter of a story driven RPG is where you should be tieing threads together and bringing everything to a satisfying conclusion, not limiting the inclusion of established characters so you can try and explain everything to people who can't be bothered to play the first two games.

Grunt can be dead as well but I would have preferred Grunt story wise because Wrex's attention is required elsewhere.

Plus they needed some squadmates that were new in case people felt the need to import their really bad saves where almost everyone is dead already.  

Yeah. I understand Wrex not being there, but I would have loved to get Grunt back... Vega isnt a bad character, not even nearly as bad as I expected, but Grunt is IMHO much better.

I totally agree.  I don't hate Vega so much as despise him for taking Grunt's spot on the squad.
