3 things I miss from ME1 that never returned....

1)Exploring planetside on foot. This really gave me the sense that this was a huge galaxy, even if I was only given a small portion of the planet to explore. If anything, just giving us a comparbly small portion of the planet reinforced the the idea that this world is huge and even added a bit of an open world feel to it. But I really miss killing trasher maws on foot, I miss the wide open expanses that allowed me to snipe from mountain top perch. A sniper's paraside. No it wasn't fair, but it was fun. Doesn't that count for anything anymore?
2) explosive round: make any gun into a grenade launcher. Sure we have the falcon and scorpion (and multiplayer has the striker) but how cool was it to put this on a pistol or shotgun? It was amazing! Why did you take that away from me? Even the falcon got nerfed for the sake of "balance" rahter than kept for the sake of fun.
3) Instantly changing gear: Why can't I change my equipment on the fly anymore? Why do I have to find a locker or work bench to do what I feel I should be able to do at will? I know BW was trying to "streamline" inventory management but that doesn't mean you should limit its utility. I liked knowing me and my squad had the armor, mods, and guns to deal with anything on the fly. I don't like planning my missions around where the locker/bench is.
That's my main list. Don't get me wrong I love how combat got upgraded in the sequels and certein things need to be sacrificed for the new things to ftt in, but I'm not sure what I listed here really HAD to go.

Also, add on the apartment you end up winning from the DLC, I know you room on the ship is awesome, but it just was fun and added to the whole immersion experience.

I also want my apartment on Intai'sei. I earned it. I want to retire there with my LI after I destroy the Reapers.
I got none of those things in ME3 ... ah, well.

You were doing good until the part about classes being watered down. I think it's only partially true. The changes made to the classes since ME1 helped differentiate them more, which is a good thing.Jestina wrote...
Actual side quests, being able modify just about every piece of equipment, classes that were not as watered down as they are now.

It's not good when every class feels like a soldier now and with the rapid cooldowns certain class such as adept and sentinel are the same thing.

Its the same in ME1; no, tis worse actually. Just double Medical Exoskeleton X on armor for 46% power cooldown bonus + Savant X + their own talents, it is even worst than ME3 because of multiple power spam due to independant cooldown. Enemies cannot even move due to my power spams, returning fire is totally out of the question.Jestina wrote...

ME1 combat is the worst! You can literally walk all over enemies like a god on insanity. On lower difficulty, they simply drop dead.

How did I miss this? Thank you.darthnick427 wrote...
You missed the most important thing that hasn't returned from ME1. Wrex as a squadmate....
Remember all the great conversations I had with Wrex? God those were the days.
Wrex: Sheppard
Sheppard: Wrex
Those were bonding moments.

Agree with everything except this. You may be right, but I hope that this had nothing to do with "Streamlining" the series. Changing gear abruptly makes no frickin sense. Frankly, running around with a bunch of mods, weapons, and sets of armor is impossible. No matter how good you are, or how space efficient you may be, the idea that you can carry it all is silly. It's not a traditional rpg, and you don' have "bags" to carry your "Armor or weapons" You a soldier who carries their weapons on their backs.
Or they streamlined the series because they're sellouts. I hope it was the former though.
Also, I really wanted Wrex as a potential squadmate, or at least a Temp squaddie for his mission. Woulda preferred him over Vega or Edi. Most random characters ever.
Edit: Funny typo. Sexcept.

I think i would like to see a Mako return DLC for ME3. we got that firewalker vehicle thing for 2 and it was ****e in comparison... really
FWIW the Coal.bin file has section for "vehicle". So the MAKO may yet make a return.

Seriously, we should totally make our own ME game. Maybe if I spend time learning programing instead of web design, and if I was sober.
Nah, Shepard can be Sean Connery, drunk the entire game.
