and especially for people complaining about the mako, why are you plaing this game then? why would you buy a sci fi rpg game and then complain about getting to explore planets?

also, the me1 geth troops as other mentionned: stalkers, snipers, armature and colossi.... why did they go away ? Krogan battle masters where also very nice, not like me3 where they are a joke
You mean Mass Effect2,because 3 didnt have them as enemies.
Thats also a thing i miss. Biotic and tech enemies. The banshee is not really one.(easy to avoid nova and warp projectile, but more then warp spam in Mass Effect 2)

1)Exploring planetside on foot.
3) Instantly changing gear: Why can't I change my equipment on the fly anymore?
1. Vast empty nothingness in vehicle poorly designed for exploration. Only wish MAKO was back so I could blow it up myself.
3. Yeah, planning sucks. Having to think about what to take and all that. Much easier to carry every gun and suit of armor into the field and swap on the fly. Another feature that makes the tedium of inventory management at least require some small iota of thought and improves on 1 so much.,

miss all those things and more, thats why ME 1 is still the best it was a true RPG made well. Whereas ME3 is a shooter more than anything else.

Exploration is only interesting if what you explore is. The UCW's were a joke - a downed probe, Salarian Jerky and the exact same structure...plus a rock!

It could have done with more content, true. That wasn't actually a fault of the planetside exploration, though. Coming across an Arthur C Clarke-esque alien ruin out on some frost planet, or investigating an apparently abandoned research station and following clues to a nearby mine, or accidentally driving into a Thresher nest and having to frantically drive off while firing were just a few of the more intriguing moments of the game. You don't fix a lack of content by simply removing the feature altogether.
Besides, I've yet to hear a clear explanation as to why the Mako was allegedly so difficult to control - it didn't handle any differently to any other similar vehicle in a TPS/FPS. Perhaps it was a console thing?

No, it is the fault of exploration because exploration is 90% looking at nothing - otherwise you aren't epxloring. I can do with out the unadvanced driving simulator.
The MAKO sucked because whatever weight it actually had it handled like a beach ball whenever you hit anything of a sort at any sort of speed. Plus, the thing had almost zero role play elements. It was a pure fob to twtich gaming - which is why I'm always shocked to see the RPG luddites defending the dumb thing.

Actual side quests, being able modify just about every piece of equipment, classes that were not as watered down as they are now.
classes in ME1 were super generic compared to 2 or 3. Infiltrator and Engineer were basically the same class.

same with vanguard and adept, me1 soldier being the most horrible attempt at a class Ive seen plus all weapons in a class being the exact same thing. I just cant see how people can think of me1 as having varied gameplay.

In this case I've no idea what you actually mean by 'exploration' - lack of content is one thing and I'd agree with that, but you sound like you're trying to claim the very concept of exploration is flawed... in which case I'd point out that it sounds like you simply don't like it, as oppose to it being flawed.

1. It had some odd suspension, true, but unless you were trying to move full speed over giant rocks then you're hardly bouncing around like a beach ball. I mean, seriously, if you're driving off cliffs and mounting boulders, exactly how do you expect a gound vehicle to handle? Would you prefer to simply crash?
2. Let's not start trying to claim that anyone who doesn't scream to the heavens about RPG purist stuff and how they can't do something makes someone a 'luddite'. You're the one who's complaining, after all - some of us clearly didn't have an issue with it.

I do miss exploring, but I agree the driving of the Mako and Hammerhead were awful! Exploring a planet made it feel more real and like you were more in the game rather than flying around the universe like an idiot. Also finding stuff like that radiostation on the asteroid was fun little things to flesh it out.
I miss exploding rounds yes, but I also miss the radioactive rounds, who didnt' LOVE watching guys die from that, lol. Also I like having ammo types not be a power, but something I could choose or change for each squadmate as the situation demanded.
Changing gear on the fly was nice, but slogging through that inventory was a mess on a good day. Customization though was a great part of ME1.
And a final thing I miss as someone else said I WANT WREX PLAYABLE!!
