OK Ok......I'm getting frustrated as hell here......When I enter a system, the mouse comes in view and then tells you to press the right button to "Ping". Mine has never worked...I even called EA, and they had no idea why it did not work. So with that said, what in the HELL do I need to do?? Re assign a key button, go into the game files and correct something.........I need some BIG help here.....

Thank You...

Do a search in this forum, there are a number of posts stating that the scan is broken if you changed the default keybind for Right Mouse Button.

The only way to get the scan to work again save the game, go to options and use the "reset defaults" button in the key binding section. Then hit F9 (quickload). It'll load your most recent save and the scan will work again.

You have to redo your keybinds when you are done scanning, but currently this is the only work around. there is some hack that edits a text file, but thats a pain.

Bioware doesnt seem to be aware of this bug because there is no acknowledgement from them.

I did go to Options and set my key bindings back to default. But it still didn't work. Id rather take a look at that hack on the txt file and fix it from there.....Oh by the way, the Scan NEVER worked to began with....

you have to reset your keybindings AND reload a previous save (or use quickload) for it to work due to the keybind bug.

Yep, that did the trick...Thank you very Much...But now I'm going to need to get used to "WSAD" to move around. In all my other games I use my right mouse key to move forward, and the bottoms "Arrow" keys to move around.......Oh well.....

You dont have to use WASD, when you are done with a batch of scanning just set your controls back to what you want.
you only have to reset to default when you want to scan.
