I think there should be an icecream dispenser on the Normandy. And cookies!

They could have easily put in an option to tell her to get lost, or something. You can do it Kaidan or Ashley. If she still has to show up for the plot have her use the QEC or something. She's the freaking Shadowbroker.

Yes, Wrex, Tali, Garrus, Ashley, Kaidan can all die. Everyone in ME2 can die as well. Isnt it odd that she is the only one who cant die?

I like her character, I just think she should have been mortal like every other member of my squad through the 1st 2 games is all.

Again I liked Liara very much, I just think there should have been a scenario where she didnt survive.

I guess I'm just struggling to understand your perspective so please bear with me.  The way I saw it, party members can only actually die at very, very specific plot points in the trilogy.  Some might have alternate ways (ignore Tali's quest in ME2 it seems), but it seems to me that you're upset that Liara wasn't an active party member in ME2 and hence avoided the potential meat grinder that was the Suicide Mission.

It seems this situation also applies to fans that dislike both Ashley and Kaiden, correct?

No, the Virmire Survivor can be killed off during the Citadel invasion.  Otherwise, you CAN decline their offer to join the Normandy.   Liara is being forced on to you, whether you want her or not.  You cannot kick her off the ship.

So is Vega, and EDI as far as I'm aware.

I have no problems with her being mandatory on the squad to fill the engineer/soldier/adept trinity, but I do agree that she had too many scenes. Fine for those who romance her (like me), not so much for those who hate her.

Other than that, got to agree in general with the OP, especially concerning Kai Leng and the kid.

Since I love Liara, I don't mind her being a writer's pet. If anyone had to be, I'm glad it was her. The rest? Totally agree. HATED Kai Leng. Never read the books. When he stood up on the hood of the air car, I rolled my eyes because this paper-thin character was put into the game for one reason only: to LOOK bad@ss.

What am I? 12? The first thing I said while playing when he stood up was "Pull up and scrape him of the underside of an overpass."

I agree with the OP. Especially with Liara. EVEN in the final scenes of the game. I see joker (for some reason) Anderson (for some reason) and my love interest... oh wait nope I romanced TALI why is LIARA there???? Its dumb.

ME3 Is contrived in too many ways. The plot and characters arnt introduced into the story. They are forced more often than not. I love Mass Effect - I really do - but ME3 imo is just broken. The writers did a terrible job putting it all together.

ME3 is overhyped and those ratings of 1-3/5 stars and the like are deserved.

I liked how Liara was written in ME3. They've been at war for several years so she has a close relationship with Shepard, much like Garrus. I don't think it's a matter of her having too many scenes but the others not having enough. She went out of her way to rescue Shepard before ME2 and became the shadow broker with his help so they do have a deep bond.Well that's how I perceived it since she wasn't my LI.

Yeah that's some seriously lazy programming from BW to ignore any ME2 romances in the final cut scene.
But that's not Liara's fault for being a writer's pet, that's just the idiots who made the ending's fault.

You should have had the option to ground her permanently around the Catalyst. All things considered, she is the Shadow Broker, we need her alive in that capacity, and she'll probably be safer there. She can email you, holovid you, and return with you to Thessia (ala Kasumi in the hanar quest). No harm, no foul, the waifu is alive and those of us who don't want her around don't have to deal with her.

I'm still mad about the dying flashback scene. Anderson? Yeah he supported you a lot. Joker? The two of you have been through this entire crazy trip together. Liara? ...I called her a lot of names, refused her gift and used her for her shadowbroker skills. I wanted one last glimpse of Thane... got a bunch of unwanted blue instead.

If you can't kill her, they should have let us ground her away from us. The same as you can do with the VS or Chakwas.

I love these people that are mad because Liara got the most screen time. It's obvious that Liara is the canon romance and if you picked someone else you picked wrong and should be punished.

But if Liara is your LI (I only ever romanced her and Kelly chambers) it is really nice to have her by your side and stuff

Agree about Kai Lang. He's certainly no Loghain. The game basically "told" me that Kai Lang was the bad guy and I should hate him. But he felt like <random bad guy>. Loghain on the other hand, I passionately hated him. And that did a lot for immersion.

On Liara, I didn't like the sudden personality changes. In ME1 she seemed innocent, compassionate, caring. In ME2/LotSB she seemed cold and detached. I liked that in ME3 she at least beared some resemblence again to the way she'd been in ME1.

I liked that she was brought forward through all 3 games. When ME3 was coming to a conclusion, Garrus and Liara are the only 2 that felt like they'd been there with me through thick-and-thin from the start. Ash/Kaiden were quick to mistrust over Cerberus, Wrex/Tali both had their attention occupied by their people.

Thus, I was fine with Liara bringing the "heartfelt" moments. For the blackbox, I don't know who else could really be doing it anyway. Maybe Javek (since his raced acknowledged/cared about continuity & crucible plans), though at best that would probably be a humorous moment instead of a heartfelt one.

The joining consciousness thing might have been better reserved for a LI, but even when she wasn't my LI, I simply thought "this is some Asari thing that's important to her, so why not?". I equate that more to the moment shared with Garrus on the Citadel rooftop shooting stuff - the companions are different people and they share/express their friendships in different ways.

Finally, as to Liara not dying (or having the same opportunities as others), I tend to keep all my companions alive when possible, but I can understand where people who don't like Liara might be irked that they're forced to endure scenes with her. I had the same thing in DA:Awakening where Oghren, my least favorite DA:O companion (loved his hilarity at the tents - did not like carrying him with me), was the only real carry-over and I had to simply endure him. I think this boils down to a logistics issue for BioWare though. At some point they have to pick-and-choose for us.

You can call me a Troll as much as you want but that won't change the fact that I got the best, deepest and most fleshed out romance in the game while your romance got sidelined.

And "my cannon" romanced Liara, but the Garrus one was just as good at least in my eyes...

the Garrus one was good but that's because he's The Garrus. He's also the best bromance in the game, much better than Kaidan, Cortez and Vega. Liara is still the only right romance and you should be punished if you picked wrong

Exactly! From my perspective Kai Lang popped up out of nowehere, with Anderson going "oooooo, he is a bad a****".

Meh.

I should not be "punished" because I chose to have a relationship with the wrong fictional character. Either give them all equal content, or none at all.
