I'm playing on the PS3 and encountering a specialization bug.  I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has a workaround.

When I get the message that I've unlocked a spec, it sometimes unlocks properly and sometimes does not.  For example, I got the message that I've unlocked the duelist spec as a mage but neither Zevran nor Leliana can choose duelist at level up and neither can new characters I make.

My PC is an arcane warrior yet at level up neither wynne nor morigan can be one as it still shows locked for them.  I'm planning to take one  of my other characters and unlock it again on a different character and see if that works.  Other than that, I'm at a loss as to a remedy.

Any thoughts?

Just for clarification: Zevran, Wynne, and Morrigan all have a specialization already when you get them into your party. You can only learn two specs, and the second can only be chosen at or above level 14. So, to sum up: are your characters level 14 or higher?

Actually, every permanent party member Except Sten (who gets no levl 7 spec) and Dog and Shale (who are not traditional classes) have specializations when you get them.   So you need to wait until level 14 before assigning any spc ponts to your companions.

Yeah, I was trying to deal with only the characters the OP mentioned (forgot Leliana).

I'M at level 17 and only have redcliffe and board quests left at this point
