Heellllll NO! Nevermind the ending, it still has some major problems with the mission system and the crappy ambient dialogue.

GotY needs to have a story that works. Narratively, Mass Effect 3 fell flat on its face. There are bugs that actually limit how much of the story players get to experience. So no. ME3 won't be GotY.
To be perfectly honest, I had a feeling once Halo 4 was announced that ME would never get GtoY. As good as the game would have been if the ending was perfect, it's really hard to compete with the Halo machine. Halo 3 sold more in 12 days than ME3 sold in it's entire first month. It more than doubled that figure by year's end. As much as I (used to) like Mass Effect, it's not even a remotely fair comparison.

A GOTY? For what, a bugged game, 1 payment DLC and 1 free DLC?
Look at the Fallout 3 GOTY, that has a LOT more stuff. ME3 is miles away from a GOTY.
Also, they have to consider how many copies they will sell , like they did for DA2.

Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2: HotS would have given it a run for its money, even if it didn't have such a terrible ending.

No, it does not deserve Game of the Year. Not by any stretch. Once, I would have felt it unthinkable to say such of a Bioware game. But not anymore.

No. Even if it did have a better ending, too many flaws.
Now Max Payne 3? Going to **** all over everything.

Prior to 9th March I was like "Hmmm -.- Diablo 3 vs Mass Effect 3, who gets the GOTY?". Then I saw the ending.

Best shooter? I can't tell if this is a joke or not.

I think it's a great game but I don't think it deserves Game of the Year until we get a proper ending.

If they fix the ending with a proper conclusion and not just a bunch of cinematic cutscenes with text epilogues (I'm talking proper, acting + maybe a little gameplay here) which fixes all the problems and gives us closure then I would give it my vote. That said bioware is going to have to really pull it out the bag here, tough competition with max Payne, AC3 and halo 4 coming up.

For ME1 and ME2 I'd say yes.
For everything apart from the ending for ME3 I'd say yes.
For all of ME3 then no it doesn't deserve it in anyway shape or form.

It's a great game for me, but objectively...
- Combat is glitchy. The cover system is frigging aweful
- Graphics are getting very old.
- The story becomes mediocre thanks to the ending
- Journal
- Boring MP you are forced to play and replay. (How some people can claim it's great is beyond me. It's frigging horde mode, it's bound to become boring and repetitive)
I would give an 8 maybe, 9 max with a better ending.

For me, probably does, just becuase I don't see any real story driven games coming out this year I'm interested in. My only problem is with ME3 is how it ended. But if there isn't a real contender this year the trophy doesn't mean anything, like when a picture wins an oscar becuase it was the only oscar quaility move out there. No competions, no bragging rights.

all I can think of is Vizzini laughing in The Princess Bride... right after he drinks his choice chalice and dies... "Hahahaha Hahahah HA Ha HA...urk... <dead>"
bout sums up my opinion on GOTY for ME3 ... would have had it easily I think if the ending didn't suck the life out of the entire series.
