F*** no. This game was supposed to be the chosen one, free of controversy and etched in history, winning game of the year carried on the shoulders of its proud and satisfied fanbase which should have increased greatly since the last 2 games. The damage is done

I believe that any game that can make me cry deserves GOTY. Mass effect 3 accomplished this three time. However... the ending destroys the whole experience, so... no.

No. Even without considering the ending it's a 7/10 game. (imo)

I honestly mean no offense by this, but why are you here then? Were Mass Effect 1/2 radically better for you? I can't imagine you posting in the forums for a 7/10 game otherwise.

EDIT: Also, hell no. People talk about setting a terrible precedent for games by changing the ending. Well rewarding the game in this state sets a pretty bad precedent too.

By that logic, the precedent is already set. Bethesda changed the ending to fallout 3 drastically. Is your name colin moriarty?

depends on how good other games released in 2012 are.

but unless the crop of 2012 games is mediocre or worse? no. its a good game. its a fun game. if you only play it once, its close to fantastic even with crappy endings. but if you replay it? the more you explore it, the more the cracks and shortcuts and cut corners you find and realize just how little it changes despite making different choices, how incredibly railroaded and linear it is....

Bioware used to be much better then that.

Not after this ending debacle, no.

If it had even a half decent ending? maybe.

Far too many good games being released this year I would think. Assasins Creed 3 is a pretty big contender, as is XCOM, which if done right will have cult status within a week, Borderlands 2 has a small chance, but if CoD comes out with yet another "huge" game then I guess they would get the nod, because that is how it works.

The year isn't over, but I certainly hope not. It's a good game, but has a lot of deficiencies. It's not up to ME standard.

There are other games I'll play this year, and I'll be very disappointed if they aren't better, overall, than ME3.

This a million times, if it is finished properly it will be a fantastic game that deserves that title.

I second this. So many..Dragon 2-esque shortcuts I've noticed.

No. Besides the ending, as a game is not bad, but it's the worst of the saga. There's games over there with better gameplay, length and overall better pulished than ME3.

No, the whole thing felt rushed, not just the ending. Example, the DA2 style retrieve "quests."

Nope. So far this year, the title that deserves it most is Journey.

Ofc, this is before Diablo 3 comes out. If the beta is any indication, D3 would have swept away even ME3: Good Version.

If only there was a different ending.
