Is this spell bugged or just overpowered?

Storm of the Century is no mean combo. You need Blizzard, Tempest, and Spell Might to do it, and by the time you cast it, you've pretty much killed 2/3s your mana, plus maybe 5 seconds of casting.
Your mage will be incredibly weak against Undead (which will outright resist maybe half your offensive loadout), and you still have issues with Crushing Prison and Curse of Mortality (neither of which you will get if you get Storm of the Century).
Playing the second time through with a Warrior main is both faster and easier.

My 2 Mage play-throughs didn't get that. My Rogue play-through didn't get that. But my Dwarf Warrior got that. So I'll grant that I probably didn't pick the best spell choices for my Mage run-through's - that might have affected their survivability, but my Dwarf Warrior Is Kind Of A Big Deal.

Once the enemy wades in, Mages have limited CC options. Warriors can War Cry, then Two Handed Sweep, then Pommel Strike, then Mighty Blow. While that's going on, the other guys are saving THEIR CCs for when you're done, then they Taunt, War Cry and so on. Shield Bash, Overpower are cool for Shield guys, but mainly, they CC by Taunting and turtling up, which they can do remarkably well.

It doesn't (the paralyze effect) work on bosses, only the damage will.
Not sure if it counts as a boss, but it paralysed one of the mini-boss demons in the sloth demon section of the game.

I agree with Deflagratio - the classes are pretty balanced. I got "I'm Kind Of A Big Deal" while playing a Dwarf Commoner. He Tanked, took Shield Wall, watched his companions die, & survived EVERY FIGHT IN THE GAME. *ahem*
Can that achievement be gotten just by reloading? If not I'm wondering if you have to actually see the game-over screen to disqualify the achievement--I'd always hit "quick-reload" when any char falls, long before the game-over screen.

Why do people defend this failure of balance? Do you enjoy having multiple "kill all enemies and win fight" keybinds pre-set for you by the devs? If you really just want to ROFLSTOMP you could just spawn infinite gold for yourself and buy all the best gear on easy. Does it ruin your enjoyment of the game when lore and balance are seperated for the purposes of gameplay?
Wahhhhh! People are playing the game the way they want to and not the way I want them to play. Wahhhhh!

Whenever I play I find myself only having 1 mage tops and I am always avoiding spells like Mass Paralyze, Force Field, Cone of Cold etc cause I play for a challenge but I want to have 1 of each class at least when playing with a party. So I find myself limiting myself cause of how stupidly OP alot of the spells are even on nightmare. I was also VERY disappointed when i discovered in ths game on the first playthrough that bosses could be CC'd... that was just retarded to put it lightly.

ATM I am making a mod to change alot of the spells, like giving Cone of Cold a 40 sec CD etc, but I should not have to do that either.
