 Like all of you I was disappointed once shepard went up high to talk to that "starchild" and indeed at first I choose "control".
it made me want more, want answers and explanations. it gave me more questions than a happy ending would, since a "happy ending" would bring closure.

now as much as the community did a lot into analysing the post harbinger part and did look into every detail looking for answers, after watching today this video from the prothean beacon in the asari home planet(forgot the name).
I realised that there lies the tru answer that the "indoctrination ending " was their true intention. the reason why you only get shepards cutscene if you choose destroy.

the point is, protheans were real, did exist and that what he said did happen so its not a theory.

then he went on to say that " a splinter group wanted to dominate the reapers".
that the patterns repeat
that they were indoctrinated

now this game was all about choices but no matter what choices you made we all had one goal which was to destroy the reapers.

and the ending we got was one way of giving us "different endings/choices" to one unique goal.
