Exactly! They should all be replaced by mage pants. Join us! (The mage pants group).

Nah, what I want to see is a pitch black robe with hood on my necromancer/blood mage with silver runes/enbroidings on sleeves. And a staff with skull on it.

For a group of people trying to lay low between their staves and robes they do a pretty awful job of it.

Thats true Sidney but in DA2 the were like 2 armor+pants for mages sadly there were blood mages only.. not everyone is a blood mage bioware!! and no i have no problem with others being blood-mages just give different enchant with the same model in the cloth armors.
Here are some very nice armors and of course hawke armor RULES.

I'm not sure what the o.p. posted, as it is currently blank, though I like Aldenon's Vestments and the Champion mage robes. The above post has some nice mage pics too.

Hawke armor looks like a hobo outfit. Only trolley is missing.

The one you get when you play the dlc awakening (forgot the name) looked awesome. Doesn't always have to be a dress for the mage. The dresses all looked pretty simular to me in DA2.

And the staves for mages could need an update. I really liked Orsino's. Would have wanted that one.......................

The stave for Hawke in Legacy looked like party drink mixer. Annoying as h*ll.

i want a really cool mix of everything. Trousers, robes and some actual armor. Honestly the robes especially for men in DA2 all looked stupid i didnt like any of them and the ones where you got trousers they were just so plain and boring.

There were a lot of mage robes to download from modders in DA:Origins, and even in Awakening, but since there is no toolset for DA2, there's not very many choices.

I want more non-robe "robes" like the Champion set. Why do mages, especially apostates, even wear robes at all? Why not just wear a big neon sign? They serve the same purpose.

lol, I assume even then the templars wouldn't notice. You can cast spells right in front of cullen in enemies amoung us and he doesn't do anything

Honestly I do not mind robes for mages, I never really saw the big deal against them but I have no problems having variety in armours for companions, the more the better. Whether robes, non robes, just more armours can choose from equals happier me.

The robes are so hideous, they actually made me hesitant to play a mage in DA:O.

There is a saying; "variety is the taste of live" and I agree.

Everyone shouldn't walk around with the same brown dress if you ask me or after finishing the witch hunt and get a green ugly armor as a reward...:pinched:

I thought it would have been awesome if you did have to be careful where and around who you casted spells, or else there'd be consequences like bystanders panicking or templars/guards trying to capture you, but that would have required a completely different kind of game I think. Would have definitely helped the player feel like a mage hiding from templars in a city full of them.

I think mages in robes would be a lot less noticeable if non-mages wore robes and carried staves too.

I think they originally created a plot that had to do with hiding from the templars but they ended up taking it out for some reason. Ah well,

Variety is the spice of life. But close enough. I agree with the sentiment here in regards to amount of armours.

Blue one on right is creepy. I like the one on top left and top right. Customisation is a key element that the genre is based upon. Any game can play a role but genre is defined by such elements as this.
