You end up with the guy who was with you since the beggining. He was Shepard's mentor, he gave you Normandy, helped you become a spectre, standed on your side when Alliance and Council were all agianst you in ME2, helped you escape from Earth and etc...
He always believed Shepard and helped him/her no matter what.
Say what you want to say about endings but Bioware nailed that scene perfectly.

Agreed. Another brilliantly handled moment that makes me wonder how it could all go so wrong.Blooddrunk1004 wrote...

Mordin's death and the sad thing is....there is no choice, the Krogan are just not ready to be cured, Wrex and Eve are just two Krogan and most are just too violent. Even without the genophage to avenge they'd start wars because that is what they do, that is what started the Krogan rebellions that forced the Turians and the Salarians to create the genophage in the first place, even Eve admits that most would now want revenge....I simply do NOT see enough improvement in them to believe they would be peaceful. Every playthrough I regret having to shoot Mordin and Wrex but trillions of lives are at stake and as a Spectre I have an absolute duty to ensure the universe gets the peace it deserves once the reapers are gone.
From a tactical perspective it also makes the most sense....the real threat are the reapers in the sky far more than the puppets on the ground and the Krogan bring nothing to that. I need the scientists to better build the crucible so it can be aimed only at the reapers and I need the salarian ships to help fight in the sky. Nonetheless at the end of the day I only lose Wrex and Clan Urdnot while I keep all the rest of the Krogan clans and the Turians are on board so at the end of the day that is the best result I can get....rest in peace my friends, you will be missed and honored but trillions of lives hang in the balance, I wish things went differently.
Wrex and Eve have the backing of pretty much all the females of the krogan, and seeing how they want to rebuild their culture and stop the pointless fighting, curing the genophage is a pretty good idea. Not curing it is a way bigger problem, because once the krogan find out they've been tricked there will be massive bloodshed, that will most likely only end once the last krogan is dead. By not curing the genophage you are essentially wiping out an entire species, one way or another.
If cured I view the Krogan as a time bomb at best except they'll have the numbers. Wrex was ok and I really don't think ALL the females would support Wrex.....my understanding is that of all involved in Maelon's experiment Eve is the last surviving one so we really have no idea where the females stand. Even Eve's own statement that many will want revenge but that they'll settle and rebuild isn't very telling of where she stands.....to rebuild is a neccessity without which any war attempt would be pointless. And what happens when everyone doesn't just step out of the way to they can colonize whatever world they may want? As for curing them out of fear of retaliation.....that is not very well thought out. They can be managed in fewer numbers if they try something and they should be quite substantially reduced in numbers after fighting the reapers for so long.....whereas there's no telling how many millions or billions of Krogan there might be when the inevitable conflict does break out if they are cured. Your argument really changes nothing.

Or is just wrong.
It's probably the best scene in any game I've ever played.

Having gone though my second playthough
(renegade), shooting Mordin and killing the Quarians were also heartbreakingly sad.

I would've said the same thing, but then realized that the quarians kinda brought it on themselves. They went out in a blaze of glory, though.

How dare you:crying:
No way could I ever bring myself to do this. Tali killing herself? I can't even watch it on youtube.
For me, saddest probably loosing Legion. Another (wasn't really sad but brought a tear to my eye) Seeing David Archer again. The square root of 906.01 is....
Another that's sad with a sense of happiness, not in game (should have been) but described here.
