Can't pick the best/saddest so I'll list my favourites.

Mordin, Thane and Legion made me break down. Their deaths was heartbreaking but they all went out as heroes, and the galaxy remember and honor them and their sacrifice. That made it worth it for me. Still cried like a baby though.

Grunt telling Shepard to go on without him with that music playing... Shepard hesitating and then nodding. Tears, so many tears! Then seeing him stumble out of the cave. Tears of joy!

Anderson talking with Shepard just before the ending... Was choking hard has he said his final words. Sadly this moment gets somewhat drowned out by the anger I felt over the actual ending of the game.

Something I found quite sad as well was talking with people about their families on attacked planets, like Bailey, Garrus and Udina. You know that most wont see their loved ones again even if you beat the reapers.

That pretty much summs up my thoughts.

As for Udina, if he wasn't indoctrinated then maybe he was just too desperate about saving earth that he lost all perspective and thought that maybe he could save earyh if he took over the council and pretened he survived through sheer luck? He made a lot of bad choices like grounding Shepard in ME1, it wouldn't be out of character for him to do anything to by any means to save earth... Even if it was doomed to fail. I don't think I've seen any Udina thread aroudn here... but I guess that's because people wern't surprised that he ended up causing another diplomatic incident Image IPB

Oh please. Udina's decision in ME3 makes no sense at all. And causing another diplomatic incident? I have yet to see the first one.

I also guess that there is no thread because so many people hate him simply for grounding Shepard in ME1.

The usual suspects - Mordin, Thane, Legion. I was also quite worried about Grunt, but was relieved when he made it out alive. I was prepared to bawl, and had already started, then he came out...massive quantities of relief.

Additionally, the Elcor in the Citadel, who when asked how many Elcor made it off their planet replies: "Not...enough".

In the non-import playthrough, I'd say just about every scene where a ME2 squaddie would have been, including the Jondum Bau quest, the Rachni (surrogate) quest, etc. I felt awful about Dagg in that one...which prompted me to abandon that playthrough. Then Eve dying, because of a pre-set determination that the genophage cure had been destroyed... Newcomers to the ME series really got more of a shaft than I ever expected. Of course, they probably don't realize that...

Resisting the urge to watch tali's death scene. no idea how much longer before i cave in and watch it on youtube. I watched the cerberus base scene that you get if you ignore grissom academy and hearing what they did to jack me me feel like a total dick for even watching it.

Any scene that involves the character assassination of TIM.

I actually felt really bad for TIM at the end. It was as if he slowly realised that all the horrile things that he had done were for nothing and he was simply a puppet.

Truly some incredible VA work by Mr Sheen.

Mordin's death was tragically sad, but for me, I'd actually have to say that Councillor Tevos's crestfallen and shocked reaction when she realized you failed to save Thessia hit me the hardest. And I never even liked her! :P

She was counting on me, and her world fell. And my Shep took it VERY hard.

That's when I really saw the strain of the impossibly heavy weight Shepard was bearing for so long, Tevos just crumbled in front of me, someone who had always had smooth and eloquent control over every crisis. It was very hard for me to watch.

And I thank BW from the bottom of my heart for heart-wrenching moments like these. Few games have such power, to make you hurt IRL. I have to salute them for that.

I didn't find anything but Tali's death all that sad. The Thane death was perfect I'm glad he didn't just slowly die. and the prayer was awesome. Mordin's death was cool I loved his growth up to that point. but the music and watching Tali as her people were killed...that was sad.

Thane's death. He wasn't even a character I cared for but that scene had me balling my eyes out.

Garrus' goodbye.

On my 2nd playthrough I had Eve die, and that tore me up because I had already seen the effect she has if she lived (on my first playthrough).

Having to shoot Legion 3 times was a little hard.

Tali's suicide, like a lot of others said, caught me by surprise. When I hit that paragon interrupt but.....

Thessia falling.

I was sitting next to my fiance during the part with Samara and I started crying and I yelled, "Why do they keep trying to kill all my former squadmates!"

There were many little moment I choked up during this game:
Garrus’ goodbye (both friendship and romance, though the latter really got me. That “Never.” line. Gah) - actually, a lot of the goodbyes tugged at the heart, including Anderson. Oh Anderson.
The asari in the Hospital after I later realized who she was talking about (and Shepard choosing to stay silent about it, knowing that Joker was better off with the hope).
Charr’s poem to his wife (and, and, I hooked them up in the first place! :crying:).
Losing Thessia.
Having to tell Victus I let his son die after him thanking me for saving him just hours before.
Thane/Legion death. Grunt's almost death (followed by such an Awe YAH!)
Realizing that after that Quarian died on Rannoch, that his son, Jonah, was now an orphan, since I saw his mother's death on the Rayya in ME2. Poor kid - I felt so guilty, I'd failed to save either of his parents.

But the worst, was shooting Mordin to sabotage the cure. Really, the only time I cried during my first play through was when he died singing, but my god, it was a thousand times worse after I shot him. I haven’t played my Renegade since – I can’t knowing what I (my Shep) did. My heart broke watching him crawl across the floor. Hell, it hurts just to remember it.

Probably Anderson's death, I really wanted Anderson to survive ME3, after everything he sacrificed for his whole entire military career I wanted him to have a happy ending, go home to Kahlee sanders, maybe start a family. His death seemed so pointless and wasteful.

Thane's death was a very close second. I'm not really sure why I think Thane's death was meant more to me than Mordin's ( since I prefer Mordin as a character ) but for some reason it hit me harder. Maybe it is because I saw Mordin's death coming and it gave him closure since he has always been involved with the Genophage and it seemed like something he would do where as Thane got cut down in his prime without ever getting any closure, the full extent of his role in ME3 was 1 conversation and then death at Kai Leng's hands. Maybe it was the prayer that him and Koliyat said for Shepard before Thane died, the man was dieing but he was praying for Shepard's soul, I found that haunting.

Charr’s poem to his wife

:crying:

These are more bittersweet than sad, but...

LIARA: [sighs] It would be easy for a single ship to get lost up there, wouldn't it?
SHEPARD: Yeah, it would...
LIARA: To find someplace very far away, where you could spend the rest of your life... in peace... and happiness.
SHEPARD: Right now, there's no place I'd rather be.
LIARA: Neither would I. [gives Shepard a soft kiss] I love you, Shepard.

SHEPARD: Maybe they really just fixed me... or maybe I'm just a high-tech VI that thinks it's Commander Shepard. I don't know. I...
LIARA: I wish you'd told me, Shepard. I knew it was really you the first time I touched you again.

LIARA: I don't know what to say. All those little blue children will be disappointed I didn't have a speech.
SHEPARD: We'll make up a good story for them.

:crying:

Mordin Solus is possibly the saddest scene in ME3, I was almost in tears after this scene. But that said, Thane was very upsetting, Legion was very touching especially when he refers to himself as "I" just before he dies and Anderson dying was sad.

During the game, Mordin's death, full-stop. I hardly ever cry about anything, but that scene had me so choked up my wife had to ask if I was okay.

Also....this is just....I don't have words for it.

Definitely. It's a real shame that the game seemingly has bugged out on me and Mordin won't sing during that particular scene anymore.

Legion's Upload & Kaidan's (LI) Goodbye.

Mordin's Self Sacrifice and Thanes Prayer moved me greatly too - but felt uplifted by those - bittersweet.

Thanes death was pretty sad especially the prayer
Mordins death was sad but also it felt right
Talis death I accidentally screwed up and when she dies i close the game in 5 seconds and replayed 3 hours to achieve the quarian-geth peace
Garrus BRO goodbye i was on the verge of tears when the paragon option came up
And the saddest of all for me was.. Liaras goodbye(romance) so sad and beautiful i didn't want it to end especially in the ending when you see her face.... Everytime i think the ME3 ending i think of her goodbye and i get depressed
One of the reasons i chose the destroy option was because it was more likely that i will survive(shows what i knew)
