She annoyed me.

The whole mirror business... The welsh accent couldn't save my impression of her since hear that accent every day here.

I prefer Isabella.

Really haha? She was my all time favorite (aside from the Arishok). Merrill was so clueless to so many things which only added to her cuteness and appeal, but I can see how someone could find her annoying.

She is an interesting character, well designed. I don't hate her per se, she just got on my nerves after a while.

I can deffinatly understand why so many like her though.

I had a hard time disliking any characters in the game, I loved them all, I just happen to like Merrill the most. She's like a Valley Girl (literally) version of Liara.

I only hated two characters in the entire game. First was Anders because in Awakening I really liked him being the stand in humor wise for Alistair and he always made me laugh. In DA2 they butchered this I felt. Regardless of whether lore or plot wise is possible it took a character I really liked and turned him into one I could not stand. The only other one hated was Fenris, he was just too emo, I use that word because mind gone blank and cannot think of better one right now. Merrill was slightly annoying but I never hated her at all. The rest were quite good, especially the Arishok (imho).

I didn't play Awakening so I can understand why a lot of people were upset over the Anders deal (or at least I remember there being a number of people who felt his character completely changed from my understanding). Fenris on the other hand, yeah he was really angry and introverted at first, but when I befriended him he opened up and the more party banter I listened to, he was changing, Fenris wasn't that angry Mage hating slave that he turned out to be at first. I loved doing his mission and I brought Varric along and Varric told him to listen to Hawke because you'll never be able to live with killing a sibling. I thought Bioware handled Fenris VERY well.

I was a mage and I ended up having a rivalry with Merrill, but I romaned her. It felt more like we appreciated each others views despite a different opinion on demons and blood magic. That being said I still helped her with the mirror, at the lose of her entire tribe.

Eh about the mirror... I felt I did something bad on my playthrought. Is there any quest or something happening when the mirror is finished ? I don't know, it felt like I helped her and stuff but she just left it there when it was completed.

It's been a long time since I've played, I think the mirror stays there, granted it's broken.

She didn't do much for me personally, but she was a nice enough character I suppose.

Btw is there any way to stop her from making that mirror other than romancing her?

Meh. There are people who hate puppies. You just can't please everyone. haha. I think DA team is doing a great job staying focus on crafting better game. In the end, that's all that matters. The developer who do their absolute best to make the game is going to be remembered in history (and lead kickstarter movements) regardless of forum QQ or sales numbers.

Put that to a jingle and you've got yourself an advert.
