In a way, that pipe is the final boss of the game. Even though Marauder Shields was more difficult. Slight fall in game difficulty there.

Look .. you people have obviously never fired a gun before. It is well known that the extra velocity you gain by running directly at something while shooting is well worth the loss of accuracy you get.

And the other stuff .. I'm an engineer tasked with installing, repairing and maintaining complex industrial electronics. And I'll tell you here and now, shooting the crap out of electronics is exactly how we start most processes in the plant. ESPECIALLY if the wires are 8" thick and look like they could carry the full capacity generated by the Hoover Dam. How could you -not- shoot that?

Yeah, as MrBtongue pointed out most of the time if you shoot a machine with your pistol, it breaks the machine.

But whoever designed the crucible most have controlled all their devices/weapons/starships with explosions.

He/She is right! Have you ever watched a Blade movie before? If you swing at someone while you shoot your bullet goes that much faster and does that much more damage.

If they knew pipes were such a big deal at the end of ME3 they should of let you recruit Mess Sgt. Gardner,.....HVAC, Plumbing and he catches what falls through the cracks might of caught the ending......
