Does anybody know if shooting that pipe is harder on 'Hardcore' or 'Insanity'? Can it dodge the bullets or can it take more bullets?

I'm just poking fun about the ridiculousness of the ending. I was actually starting out a thread with a completely honest, dry and non-comical tone with questions like "What would happen if one of the ships fighting the reapers would shoots at the pipes? Does the pipe only work with Shepard's pistol?" etc., then I included some short dialogue addressing the fact that the Catalyst never actually tells Shepard to shoot the pipe, poking fun at how ridiculous that dialogue would be, then realized it was a lot funnier than what I had originally written and expanded upon that.
Also, some people have already pointed out more logical ways to activate a device than firing at pipes

thats whats needed in this scene Shepard holding a thanix cannon ! and shooting it !
We all know how strong he/she  is after all and then i would have understood it

B*tching b*tching b*tching.  You play a sci-fi game and you don't even pay attention to the lore & themes, when you have entire dialogues to read and investigations to perform.  Stop simplifying every game to dumb it down to CoD status, I feel sorry for you.  What do you want?  Shepard with quickscoping skills and AC-130 killstreaks?

No, I didn't like the ending but I'm not whinig about it 24/7 as you do. And stop pretending like you know how I play the game, I never rush through a story driven game. I have translated the codex into my native language, that's how much I like this franchise. I know this game has flaws, but it's still a good game.

And I have never played games like CoD or BF, I don't like FPS without a story. So stop pretending like you know me, the games I play or how I play them.

But since you seem to be like a child, so I guess you like to play My Little Pony games. And you are that kind of person who cries until you get want you want. Whiner..

You do realize that Shepard wasn't inside the Crucible where the Pipe and control panel were, right?

That was the core of the Citadel, which was inaccessible beforehand. Read the codex on the Keepers.

I honestly appreciate your effort to translate the codex. Some 'official' translations of video games are downright terrible.
Now, could we please stop hating each other in a thread that was just supposed to poke fun at a pointless detail that just happens to be ridiculous?

I'm not sure what you mean by core. I was under the impression Shepard was on the top of the Citadel Tower... If that makes sense.

Yes, I'm sorry but I'm tired of all the whiners. I understand that people are disappointed, but it has gone too far. I understand why people can't enjoy the game when they start to overanalyze every single aspect of the game. The OP told this thread was a joke, but look at other threads and you'll see.

Are you being sarcastic or are you really suggesting that a synthetic with a lamp as a face is as illogical as activating a machine by damaging it? And why does Shepard have to shoot a pipe with anything?

I was not aware of that, however, what I was implying with the 'crucible will be destroyed' line was the literal 'The Crucible has been destroyed.' message that you get when you wait too long on the Catalyst.
