I've gotten in the habit of shutting it down and reloading every thirty minutes (which is how often I take a small break).
How often do YOU restart the client to prevent long load times/frame loss/other issues from the memory leak Bioware has yet to plug?
PC Users: How often do you find yourself restarting DA:O due to the memory leak?

I've never done this (or had any leak problem), but, then again, I don't think I ever play for even two hours at a time without some sort of break.

Same as you do, about every 30 minutes.
I can tell when it's time to restart when I ask to see a shopkeepers wares and it takes 10 seconds for the buy/sell screen to show up.

hour or two. I see the issue much sooner then that, but I can usually live with it for awhile.

Every hour, roughly.

I really have never experienced this memory leak issue that seems to plague a hell of a lot of players. After 77 hours and the final credits roll i have experienced only one (1) crash and that was because my steam intervened for its update and made DAO to exhaust all memory sources.

About every hour or so. Depends if I'm changing zones alot.

Every 60 to 90 minutes ish. That about coincides with my gaming breaks anyway.

About every 4-6 hours. It's actually a good point to remind me to stop playing, get some food, walk around, get a drink, go do some errand I forgot, then I come back again. In Orzammar and the Deep Roads though it was about every 2-3 hours.

About every hour, sometimes less in the Orzammar areas.

I never do. I think the game has only crashed about 3 times so far, which is a pretty good score compared to a few other games I've played.

I never restart.
Well, I mean, I stop playing and sometimes shut the game off until I come back to it - though sometimes I leave it on the start screen.
I've also not had any bugs or glitches that I've noticed. I accept that I probably have the dagger issue and the shape shifting issue and such, but without the forums I would never have checked for such problems let alone noticed them.

It hasn't been a big problem. It strikes every 3 to 4 hours and reminds me I've played too long. It was about 2 and a half or so hours in Orzammar and the Deep Roads.

Very rarely. Only after about 3 hours does it start to get really noticable, but i rarely play for that long in a setting.

Depends on the area I'm in, sometimes I don't seem to run into it at all, other times I have to restart every hour.
And to some of the previous posters: a memory leak doesn't necessarily crash your game, most people notice them because the game's loading times start going up, and up, and up. Another way to see it is to look at the program's memory consumption in Task Manager.

I'm not sure about an hour I think. It's pretty annoying, but if I don't do it then the load times will become extremely long.

Although this is a tiny bit annoying, it doesn't take long to restart DA.
- Press F5.
- Press Alt + F4.
- Relaunch Dragon Age.
- Click "Resume".
I have a question though, if someone knows, is there a way to make the "Resume" work faster. I always have to wait 10 seconds or so, or I'll get an error about certain DLCs not being authorized.

About an hour. it's not the reload times that irritate me as much as that the triggers start taking a long time to happen, and you can even miss them if you're not careful.
#1 thing I want fixed in a patch.

Never.
I've never seen any evidence of the alleged leak, either. But then, every game that's come out for the last decade has immediately been met with complaints of "memory leak!" and I can't remember more than a single instance where there actually was one.

Can't. You gotta wait because it's logging you in - this is basically the DRM of DA:O.

I've only had to do it once and I was traversing the entire map to be sure I didn't miss anything. I also have 4 gigs of ram though and I make sure my comp isn't doing anything else when I'm playing. I wonder if some of the people with this issue are around 1 or 2 gigs of ram?
