Not very often... although I usually stop playing for 30-40 minutes every couple of hours to do other things. Very rarely have my loading times been more than a minute long though, but I have 4gb of RAM. (the long load times only affected me maybe 3 times total in about 140 hours of playing)

Very rarely. Only after about 3 hours does it start to get really noticable, but i rarely play for that long in a setting.

This is the same for me.  It takes about 3 hours before I start seeing anything related to memory leak, but I rarely play for that long in one setting.

I usually get to about the 10th or 11th transition before I start to see noticeable increases in load times. For certains areas of the game, you can play for quite a while with 10 transitions, but when you do Orzammar, well 10 transitions can be had in about 30mins easily making it probably one of the worst places to travel thru.

How often? I suppose... twice a month?

Yeah, I've only really had slowdown issues twice since I got the game.

Starting out it was about every hour, but later in the campaign i have to do it every 20-30 minutes. I usually do it before I zone so I dont have to wait for 5 minutes loading

Very rarely, sometimes I have to restart the game once but that's because the game either crashed or another program in the background is making my game very lagged.

I get it after about 3 hours of game play. The game slows down and my weapons wont change when moving between ranged and melee. So it looks like I am shooting arrows with two daggers or a sword and shield.

I'm running a 64bit 4gb system and the only time i've had this affect me is during the last battle. Otherwise load times are pretty consistant up to that point.

Never, honestly. Even after running the game for 3 hours and more, the game runs fine. 64bit system with 4gb of memory.

When it crashes, loading area(s) takes minutes or dialogs start to crawl...

Someone mentioned earlier a potential fix being making sure that your HD cache wasn't on the same HD as the game itself. Since I had caches on both my HDs, this meant disabling the one on my C drive.

I just tried this out now and... wow. The area-resource decaching issue is still present, but it's far less severe.

It was about every twenty minutes to an hour depending on areas at first. I have one of the phenoms that had the tlb bug though. I applied that fix and now it's every hour to two hours.

I don't think this is actually a memory leak though. It seems more like everything that has loaded before is being loaded through the processor again and this is what is causing the problem. I have 8gbs of ram and have never seen usage go above 2.5gbs. The pagefile being turned off seems to help a bit as well but most users shouldn't do this as their systems need it.

It was every 30 to 60 minutes depending on how many area transitions I went through and how willing I was to sit there while an area took a while to load. But I also applied that fix for the AMD Phenom and haven't had to restart since then.

Huh? Some people do that?

Heh, no, never found myself needing to restart, though I don't often play more than 2 hrs.

1st could play 1hour+ before it went really over the hill, then went down to 30 min. And now after 10 min playing already loading times 1 min+.

I've only had to do it once and I was traversing the entire map to be sure I didn't miss anything. I also have 4 gigs of ram though and I make sure my comp isn't doing anything else when I'm playing. I wonder if some of the people with this issue are around 1 or 2 gigs of ram?

I have 6 GB of ram but still this problem. Its very odd, because I cant se a pattern on the computers with problems. All kinds of CPU and videocard, and they are all far beyond the requirements.

Hope they find a solution with the patch next week.

However; I play the PS3 version now. Its about as good as the PC version in my opinion.

I have never experience the memory leak issue. I play for about 4-6 hours straight and than take a break. No crashes, no freeze ups, no stuttering. No problems, just enjoying the game!

I personally never seen this memory leak, and have had the game running 6-8 hrs at a time.
Thats not saying it doesn't exist,  just hasn't affected me as of yet.

I'm also running 8GB RAm so that may be why it doesnt seem to show. I dunno.

What is this fix you speak of? I have an AMD Phenom and I'd like to be able to play without restarting every 15 minutes

About an half an hour in I start noticing the slowdown, tolerate it until the loads hit more than 3 minutes or the framerate makes it unplayable.

It's the TLB patch. You are disabling it beause it cuts down the performance of the Phenom 9500 and 9600. There is a sticky for it in these forums with links to the programs you need to download as well as pictures showing you what to do.

Oh and also if you haven't turned off persistent gore already do that and you'll see a big improvement.

I play a few hours at a time maximum. I've never had to restart this game for such a reason.
