This quest bugged out on me. I completed it successfully on my first playthrough, but on this one, after killing the ambassador I did not get credit for the deed. Ignacio remains ignorant of the ambassador's death. I completed too many other quests afterwards before noticing the error which makes the closest autosave 6 gameplay hours before the deed, far too much progress to merit a simple reload.

I'm wondering if anyone knows a trick to sovle this, like a console command to reset a quest or enter a command to complete it or whatnot.

Summary:
-No credit given for completing quest. Ignacio behaves as if the deed goes undone.
-The ambassador is confirmed dead, I can't kill him again.
-No savegame before killing ambassador is available.
-Anything else I can do?
