A batarian squadmate with the net cannon, arm blades, blade armor, and biotic charge would be AMAZING (charges into a group of enemies, stings them all when they try to melee him/her)

it would be awesome  :)

of coarse i also wished jack had gotten biotic charge in me2 and thane got cloak and dual pistols but what can you do :(

I'd rather have Randall Ezno from the Infiltrator game for iPhone/iPad. The guy is practically made for DLC.

- Has a unique fully automatic Mattock rifle.
- Wants revenge against Cerberus for *SPOILERS* brutally experimenting on his handler, Inali. (could be like a loyalty mission for him)
- Is a human, so will balance out the 5:2 alien-human ratio we currently have.
- Has Tactical Cloak, so could be like a replacement for Kasumi
- Also has biotics for all those people who like to set up combo detonations

YES! YES! YES!

They deserve to be shown in a good light like Geth were with Legion or Krogans with Wrex.

No. They wouldn't add much, if you listen to in game dialogue etc and read the codex..a lot of the battarian hate for humans etc..came only from the hegemony. Once the hegemony was destroyed the survivors were no longer under surveilance from their government etc.. so individual battarians themselves are liable to just be like a human except with funny heads.

Would love to have a Batarian squatmate and see what he claims on mission such as Sanctuary, Thessia, Eden Prime, etc. Would be a really interesting perspective, especially if he has attitude for the events of Arrival.

Exactly, it will make the most possible interesting squad member, we never have a Batarian on our crew, we already have Asari, Krogan etc, from those we will only see a new individual to learn about, not a species or culture.

With a Batarian is all fresh aspects.

And for those who say Batarians are only this/that, Garrus had one on his anti-criminal squad.

Depends on their personal history. Anything tied to terrorism or the slave trade, and my Colonist/Ruthless Shepard would be more inclined to shoot them than slap a gun in their hand and turn his back to them.

Both Zaeed and Kasumi had some hooks on disk. Has anyone found any hooks for a Baterian squadmate in the game data?

Hell no.....They've been a race that HATES humans. Why would I want one as part of my squad now?

Read your codex entries from the 3 games.....you'd learn a thing or 2 about them and why they don't 'fit' as part of your squad.

I can 'live with', how BioWare addressed the "Down with the Sky" carry over from ME1 to ME3....what I hated about it was how easily convinced someone was. (If you did Paragon on ME1 & 3).

Lots of Humans and Baterians work together in the Blue Suns so Im not sure why you think they all hate Humans.

I want Aria as a permanent squaddie and LI. Same goes for Parasini. I want some ME2 squaddies and as I've stated before: a human from our time, who uses "ancient" firearms and is shocked at the new tech and terrified of Krogan and Turians.
Heck, it'd be awesome to somehow have Anderson on your squad.

Apart from Aria, none of them are possible.

Really?
What's holding let's say Zaed back? Samara hasn't got much to do either.

Mercenary groups and hitmen that work together to gain an advantage by illegal means, doesn't equate to an alien race of beings now suddenly joining you to save your home world.  ESPECIALLY after what happened in 'Arrival'...Though unavoidable.

Batarian's hate humans.....Why do Sci-Fi stories ALWAYS have to 'turn' the Villanous race, 'good', at some point.  Star Trek with the Borg and Klingons...and even to an extent, the Romulans.  Every Sci-Fi story out there does not always have to have that, 'can't we all just get along' storyline.  Batarians were Human's enemies in ME1 and ME2....One FINAL chapter of Shepards story would not have killed the series keeping Batarians as Humankinds enemy.  Bioware can turn them 'good' towards Humans AFTER the Reapers are dealt with....A certain someone from ME1, per your decisions, shouldn't have agreed.....For all intensive purposes, ME3 began with the Batarians being wiped out from the get go....so if Shepard at the end of ME3 saves the rest of them that potentially survived, THEN let Human's and Batarian's play peace.  But after Arrival, and how quickly the Reapers wiped out the Batarian's at the start of ME3??  Batarian's should have been P*SSED, with humanity.

Well for once, they can't be just added into the game without making them DLC. Now if they do make them DLC, then some people won't have them because they'e dead and Bioware wouldn't waste all the effort on a DLC that has potentially dead squadmates.

A merc group yes, but it does show that Baterians are willing to work with Humans and even devlope friendly relationships with them. Tarak is very happy to see Zaeed and Sgt Cathka does not seem to care at all when a Human just walks up to talk to him. Tarak's second in command is also a Human.

One of the biggest points of MEs plot was that aliens are just like Humans and that we should not judge everyone based on the actions of a few. In ME1 the only time we fight Baterians is in the Bring Down the Sky DLC. In ME2 we see that a huge number of Humans and Baterians fight on the same side if they have something to gain.

What are the Baterians suposed to do when the Reapers hit in ME3? Thorw logic to the wind and wage war with the Alliance while the Reapers wipe out all their people?

After I finished ME2, my feeling was absolutely yes, I was hoping for a Batarian squad mate in ME3. As OP says, I wanted to learn more about their culture and history. And they've always been portrayed as the bad guys, so it would have been nice to meet a friendly Batarian. I also just think their visual design looks really cool.

However, after the events of Arrival DLC, I kinda changed my mind. I think it would be hard (although not impossible) for a Batarian to work with Shepard.

And after playing ME3, I strongly favour adding more depth to all our existing companions (including the ME2 crew) instead of adding new ones.

Your logic is sound...I don't disagree with that at all.

However Tarak led the Blue Suns...Humans were commanded by him.
In 'Bring down the Sky', Batarian's were out to destroy Terra Nova.

Batarian's want to be in charge....They're not a race that is willing to be led....Especially by Humans. And wasn't part of their reasoning for leaving Council space due in part from rules and regulations? Having to follow what others had established as 'guidelines'?

So yeah, they wouldn't wage war against the Alliance....but it certainly turns into a sham when they agree so easily for use of their fleet.....Their fleet being commanded by a Human.

No 'flame'.....IMO you're thinking like a Human. (Ironic...LOL!) That logic of, "Why doesn't this person like me?" or "Why can't this group like us?"

When humanity discovered their first mass relay, then started expanding rather quickly....Who got irritated? Batarian's. It's been their biggest gripe towards us since day 1. Why change that now? Batarian's WANT to lead. NOT be lead.

Dude there world is doomed and life as we know it is about to end. Their not going to argue about who leads when there all about to die. Plus Balak already gave Shepard all Batarian resource so they don't hate being lead and there is never any indication that they want to lead anyway. And beside Krogan look like someone you can't lead and yet, thanks to Wrex and Grunt, we know thats not true.

The leader of the whole Blue Suns is Vido Santiago a Human. Tarak only leads Omega so he still takes orders from Vido.

And reaon they left the Citadel was because the Council did not stop Humanity from aggresivly colonizing territory they claimed.

I assumed we would get one, it was the obvious move, to have a highly critical character always at odds with the rest of the crew but united because of the dire circumstances. Would love it, but I'd prefer a DLC with Jack missions and recruitment <3
