Xenophobic jackass Prothean who completely ruins the mystery of their race, steroid user from Jersey Shore, ridiculous robosexual fembot and an incredibly boring and unwanted Virmire survivor... I personally found it massively disappointing after ME2 had such a perfect lineup.

Bad. It was dumb to cut the squadmate pool in half in the name of "more personal interactions". If they wanted to emphasize the importance of individual relationships they wouldn't have sidelined 3/4 of the LI's and filled the missing holes with a placeholder (EDI) and 2 new characters nobody gives much of a **** about beyond how much they dislike them (Javik/Vega).

In short: boo. Boo Bioware, bad.

Liked all the characters honestly... even Javik. That isn't to say that I agreed with his views, but judging the quality of a character based on their opinions differing from yours? Not something I do.  I mean, most of the ME2 chars I thought had good reason for not joining up again...  some not so much.  Samara and Jacob especially didn't seem to have good cause.

Bad,

Sure we get the VS but not much anyway. How many dialogues we get with Ashley? Edi and Vega are ok, but not even near some of the ME2 squadmates tough. Javik is crap. Liara, Garrus ant Tali seem to be the only ones that are good.

They should have given more ME2 squad members, I mean you've built an impressive team. I don't see a reason why Miranda, Zaeed or Grunt couldn't be part of the team in ME3.

Pretty poor. The people in the squad are great (Minus tin ******) but, without Kaidan, you have no Senintel and there is no Vanguard!

It was OK. I don't hate any character. I just wish Bioware would have allowed squad mates to be interchangeable.

It would be awesome if we could substitute Ash/Kaidan for Jack, Miranda etc.

As long as I get Tali and Garrus I'm happy.

They should've kept the dirty dozen from ME2. The dialogue between the 6 ME3 squad mates isn't any better than it was with the 12 in ME2.

To be fair, they had the squad interact with eachother more...  I mean, I had fun listening to Javik talk to the other squadmates on the ship, as well as some of the convos between Tali and Garrus.  That was something I really felt was missing in ME2.  ME1 I just wish it wasn't on those damn elevators.

Really bad compared to the lineup from ME2. Its all subjective of course, but to me EDI, Virmire survivor, Liara, Garrus and Tali were good, but they should have included the best staples from ME2 like Miranda, Legion, Grunt etc the "famous" ones, instead of having them pop up around the galaxy at "just the right place and time" that you were going to...

The new squad-members were forgettable. They came not near to the quality and detail of the predecessors. EDI was particular "seen that, done that" type.

They chose Tali and Garrus and thought that was enough. I prefer more squad mates than more banter it holds up better on multiple replays. The banter gets old.

This, a thousand times.

Although I honestly don't mind James Vega, I would have prefered to have a krogan squaddie. Wrex would have been fitting, as the rest of the ME1 crew are already squadmates...but of course, he has to look after the krogan :/

My least favourite would probably have to be EDI. I mean, I have nothing against her or anything...its just I prefer her as the "ship's computer". The only time I ever took her out was on TIM's base, and that was forced.

I like my xenophobic jackass prothean and ridiculous robosexual robot.

My VS was Kaidan and I play as either a Sentinel or Biotic so I thought there was a good range of classes (for my tastes) but if I'm honest, I tend to bring the same two squadmates along most of the time (Garrus and Liara/Tali).

I missed having a Krogan this time around.

It was disappointing. I expected more out of Liara and the VS. I could also go without Vega and EDI. Tali and Garrus were there just there because of fans. And Javik was...not what I expected really.

I didn’t mind the lineup we got at all, character wise.

Ashley or Kaiden are a welcome return to the crew with their MIA status from ME2. They are like Garrus and Tali for me and should have been included to finish the fight.

The only problem I see was that we didn’t get enough squad mates. If you did not fork out the $10 to get Javik, Tali and Garrus died in ME2 and you make a deicion for the Virmire survivor that makes them a “war asset” you are left with only Liara, EDI and Vega. Not much of a selection left there is it?

I was hoping to get a Krogan back again like Grunt maybe since we have had a Krogan in the team in each game before or maybe another species like a Batarian but I guess they felt it was more important to develop Allers instead.

it was good but Vega is like you said "steroid user from Jersey Shore" and with EDI i can't help but think that they couldn't think of another squadmate, hell Javik could have been on the disk and just kept her/it as the ships AI

I was happy with my squad; I liked all 7 of them. Besides, the best characters that didn't make the squad got temporary stays aboard the Normandy anyway.

Loved all of them. But as much as I love EDI she didn't need to be a squad mate. She could have still gotten a body and stayed on the Ship to make room for ME2 squadmates. Wrex or Grunt and Legion should have been squadmates.

I liked it. The character interations really paid off, and I felt more connected to most of them. That being said ME1 I think still has the best squad, while ME3 has the best overall experience. ME2 was...uh... lackluster.

That is completely wrong. Go play ME2 again and notice how they almost never talk to each other. How they never coment on things during missions or talk to characters other than Shepard. Notice how they only stand on one spot all the time waiting for the personal talk with Shepard.
The only two characters who atleast had enough interactions to simulate "life" were Joker and EDI.

In ME2 Mordin should have been all over Grunt for example, instead they acted invisible to each other. Tali should have had more to say to EDI and Legion. I had no idea how Garrus and Tali thought about each other after all they have been through.

ME3 made a big jump forward and has not only more, but also more character specific interactions of these characters on different levels.

I miss a Krogan, other than that, the squad is fine and I had a hard time enough switching them arround to not leave anyone out.

How did ME1 have the best squad? It was basically the same squad as ME3, but with all the characters being less than half as interesting as they turned out to be in the later games. You must have really loved Wrex.

Better than ME1, but worse than ME2's. ME1's cast was as bland as it gets. On the other hand, I liked the handling of Vega and EDI.

I liked the squad for the most part. I was disappointed with Ashley. She didn't do anything on the ship except sit in her room, and not much dialog either. Would loved to have seen Diana Allers walking around the ship pestering everyone for interviews. That would have made for some great 'support' dialog between Shepard and squad mates.
