or you can just get the ultimate edition, or steam edition, which come all patched up.

the pre-menu that pops up when you start the game, before launching the game, has buttons for play, toolset, patch.

It starts updating to the 1.17 version...
I need the 1.23

after is updates to 1.17, it will update to the next etc, until you are up to date. There is no "rollup" patch to bring you all the way directly to 1.23

To be clear. It doesn't matter if you have it downloaded.

You can't patch directly to 1.23, (unless you happen to be on the prior patch 1.22, which you are not). 1.23 is not a "rollup" patch. Just click update and wait for the process.

Yes - it is not really complicated updating that way - but it can take a while

Hitting one button and waiting a while is a lot less complicated than downloading ten patches and installing them one by one.

Installing SOZ will patch the rest to 1.20. At any rate, many modules and PWs require SOZ.
