I don't think BioWare does the family thing well. Best to just let it go.

Bioware's legacy system in SWTOR has more emotion than the family story they had in DA2...
That's my biggest complaint about DA2. It had no emotion at all. The conversations you had with the family are just absolutely awkward. Mom's death, Carver's death and then Bethany come out of the circle after years?
You'd think we weren't even related after my Hawke saw Bethany again...geez. That or they had a seriously pissed off rivalry nobody knew about. Where is the family affection in this game lol? Mass Effect 3 did it wonderful...except it wasn't blood family.
