DA:O it's Morrigan or Leliana.
For DA2 it's Merrill for FemHawke and Anders for MaleHawke

In DA:O my human mage romanced Alistair and then he was killed slaying the Archdemon.  I always imagined she ended up the Nathaniel though.

In DA2 I can't seem to romance anybody but Fenris. Everytime I load this game I think okay this time I'm going to romance Anders or Isabela or Merrill, and then I do Bait and Switch and I end up romancing Fenris again... *sigh*

^^ I have the same problem, but in reverse. I can't seem to resist romancing Anders. I tried and tried, but the first time he flirted, I melted. I have found that the only was I could successfully romance Fenris was to create a character that I found interesting and entertaining, but did not actually like. Aggressive pro-mage Hawke. He's fun to play and his politics don't make me want to hang myself, but his bluntness keeps him from being a sympathetic protagonist. This aggressive Hawke is supportive, but he finds Anders a little too sentimental for his tastes. This Hawke was able to appreciate the trouble Fenris has expressing emotion.

So, I guess the secret is to create a protagonist who would find another character appealing. Repeat as necessary. It probably took 30 tries before I found one that would work.

Edit: Also, I was able to get through it by running a OTP game concurrently with the "for science" game. I played them in parallel, doing one quest at a time on my "for science" run and then immediately doing the same quest on my OTP run. If you're really determined to try the other romances despite having a clear favorite, it really does help.

In DA: O Elissa Cousland romances Leliana and then dumps her for Alistair and then goes on to kill the Archdemon . While in DA2 my Fem Hawke succumbed to the charms of Isabela. Every time i have gone back to it i keeping thinking that i will try someone else this time and find i am still thinking about it as my Fem Hawke starts the flirting with Isabela once again.

Anders for mage Hawke. And for every Hawke. I can´t stand female LIs in the second game so, my Hawke is forever bonded to Anders. Tried Fenris too, but something was irking me about his romance.

Well Morrigan was great too, but I didn´t import her.

Dao leliana da2 Isabella, I usually want to go for Merrill but Isabella's like a tractor beam also pirates are hott...Plus Merrill's neck looks funky I saw that once and was Iike i dont want to be with you if i have to see that everytime we're in our underwear

I can totally understand this. I'm an Anders girl and have difficulty romancing anybody else, but I still adore Isabela. Romanced or not, she's a lot of fun, and a good friend when it matters. And when I do manage to avoid flirting with Anders, Isabela is definitely my go-to girl. She's just that good.

Short story I tend to pick a romance that "seems" like it would be BW's canon (in my mind) and if they're in the CGI trailer that tends to give them a...boost? I just like to go with the flow and what's fun

DA: O: Aedan Cousland (Warrior) - Morrigan: I just loved the romance as it progressed throughout Origins as well as Witch Hunt and it made me have the most feels

DA II: Garrett Hawke (Mage) - Isabela: I actually had a pretty good relationship with Carver throughout the game so I never felt right romancing Merrill and overall Isabela seemed to fit thematically with my Hawke.

As for DA III it again depends on the CGI trailer (if there is one) plus story importance and just how I feel about the character in the end. I don't dislike many characters so I don't have SUPER hard choices, but it is always tough. I think it might be Cassandra this time though if she is in the game but again it depends.

I have 2 favorites DAO playthrough and DA2 playthrough that I will definitly import first once DA3 is out.
1/DAO : F!Aeducan with Leliana, Alistair is king-> DA2 Rogue F!Hawke with Merrill, sided with mage but killed Anders
2/ DAO : M!Amell with Morrigan, Alistair is king, the Warden went with Morrigan in Witch Hunt ->DA2 Mage M!Hawke with Isabella, sided with mages, send Anders away.

Same here, I just can't resist Anders. I will try the parallel games though.. "for science"

I tried to give Anders a go this time, especially playing a mage and all, but I couldn't resist Fenris. As soon as I heard his voice, it was game over for Anders.

I hate the word canon, but I do have three save files that I consider my main files.

1) F!Amell romancing Leliana, pro-reformed-circle mage who went all Wynne-like on all the big decitions except the last. Alistair rules with Anora and Loghain is a Warden. All recruited in Awakening except Velanna who were killed in the Wending Wood. The Architect was killed.
F!Hawke romancing Merrill, Berhany is a circle mage and Petrice is dead, sided with the mages in the end and killed Anders.

2)M!Cousland who romanced Leliana too. Harsh and direct, but mostly fair-minded, though he did stay... "Renegade.." to some of the decitions. The Anvil was recovered and the Werewolves were recruited to make an unstopable vanguard up for his army. He ended up marrying Anora and Alistair is a Grey Warden. The same result in Awakening.
M!Hawke, mage. He romanced Isabela and was a goofy guy. Managed to settle a solid friendship with Carver who became a Grey Warden. Same side, but Anders joined him as fellow leader of the mage rebellion.

3) F!Mahariel romancing Alistair. She annulled the circle without killing Wynne(I don't remember why) and kept Zathrian alive. I guess she was kind of paranoid towards things she didn't understand after her experience with the Eluvian, and so dealt with anything from Abominations to Werewolves the "easy" way. Anora rules alone. My only Awakening save where Velanna and the Architect lives. But the latter; only because of Velanna and Seranni's urging.
F!Hawke romancing Sebastian, Petrice lives and Bethany is a Grey Warden. Sided with the Templars and killed Anders.
