Anyone use N7 weapons in SP (apart from Valiant)?

Ha ha, isn't that a line from Garrus in-game? Asked about whether it was true he managed to kill 3 mercs in one shot as Archangel and he says nah two, the third had a heart attack.Rudy Lis wrote...
It behaves like it not anti-materiel rifle, but like anti-tank rifle. You know, Lahti L-39, that sort of thing. I don't remember being able to do one shot-two kills with Widow/Javeling, but I did that regularly with Paladin. Unless someone died of heart attack or friendly (enemyly?) fire, of course - since teammates were "incapacitated".
I've managed to off 2 in one shot before a few times with both BW and Valiant (scored a double headshot last night on the Cerberus Scientists side mission).

Yeah, of course, that's from Garrus. One of few FTW moments from FTW character.

Well, irony is that in my case those two were guardians. With shields and apparently full health. And I even didn't aimed at slot, just in head area of the shield itself (I tested weapon performance).

Hmm in that case re: Paladin, to quote dear Garrus again 'Why don't I have one of those?'. I need to find moar monies in the remainder of my playthroughRudy Lis wrote...

AP rounds mod to squad/30% of ammo/penetration, plus AP mod and, IIRC clip on Paladin.

Garrus is full of win. I like Garrus, but seeing him shine makes rest of already dull game even more dull.

Heh. In my first playthrough I choose BW. For second, after I compared BW and Valiant, I decided to spent money on something else and choose Wraith. Wasn't that bad gun, but I sticked to Crusader. So I reloaded and choose Paladin. After very first shot I "get the message" - I felt like Tackleberry from Police Academy

Apart from the Valiant, which is awesome in MP as well as SP, do any of you use the N7 guns much in SP?
Ive tried using the Valkyrie,, Eagle, Hurricane and the Crusader but always replace them...are they just meant to be good starter weapons or what?
I use them all. they own once you get them to X

The Hurricane consumes two ammo per shot, so the effective magazine size is 20 to the Hornet's 24. The Hornet has a slight refire delay, but that's compensated for by the extremely high ROF for a burst (1000 RPM to the Hurricane's 600). All said and done the Hornet has an effective ROF (discounting reloads) of ~11.1 rounds per second to the Hurricane's 10.
I honestly wonder if this is a bug. I thought at first it was simply a two round burst, but as you say, there is only one impact event.

Ok,I just did a quick test. The Hurricane is definitely not doing double damage per shot. There's one impact effect, and the damage is consistent with the listed value. The ROF also appears to be identical to the Phaeston, which fires at the same 600 RPM.
So while the Hurricane does very high dps, I stand by my assessment of it vs the Hornet.
It still doesn't sound right. I can't imagine why it would:
Use 2 rounds per shot but act like it fired a single round
~and~
Be the third-slowest firing full auto weapon in ME without any clues in its damage or firing rate.
You say there was *one* impact event per round... would it be possible if it were 'firing' two shots at once that those hypothetical two shots would be represented as a single round in game, thus explaining its relatively high damage per shot for an SMG? According to the stats, what kind of weapons does it share damage per shot with?
Maybe I'm just banging on about nothing - I just can't shake the feeling that this is the GPS situation all over again, when people were adamantly telling me it had an rpm of 200+ (thus making it the fastest firing shotgun and giving it roughly the same rate of fire as the viper) despite this being patently impossible to acheive.

The Hurricane did get massively buffed in MP though, there it does ~100 damage per shot at level X making it the highest DPS weapon in the game outside of a charged particle rifle. But in SP the Hornet is just better AFAICT.

My infiltrator Shepard used the Eagle. I started with the Valiant and switched to and fully (level 5) upgraded the Raptor for sniping. I went back and forth between the Hurricane and Locust for SMGs.
The Locust is just a plain awful weapon. It's wonderfully accurate but, much like the Viper, they're battered its damage potential. I couldn't see the point behind using it as while the accuracy meant you could land all the shots you wanted, I often needed multiple clips to bring down basic troops. Just no point in that.
