I don't like this in SP - don't want to "waste" a slot for this.

It's great for MP, thanks for that. The only problem I've had so far are instant revives When you die at the moment you're trying to cancel the reload (or shoot) you'll end up back on your feet in no time at all, lol. Wasted a couple medigel packs this way.

This combined with Squad Cryo with higher Freeze on a Chakram X with Squad Falcon Xs is devastating.

For added lulz my Hornet has Singular Explosive Incendiary Rounds.

Late to this thread, but man, the vids made me relive the glory days of the ME2 Claymore Vanguard.

Amazing how one build can completely change my perceptions about a class. I really enjoyed it and found my Vanguard extremely powerful on Insanity.  I'm getting great results with the Scimitar and Explosive Burst.

I know this is a necro and I fear the ban lords, but I this topic is still of use to me. And I am sure to others. Does this build create a more tank like Vanguard. I am replaying the single player and I really am starting to hate the thin paper of the novagaurd. Many times in the Atrium at Grissom Academy, I died from not charging, even when they were right in front of me. I kind of want a more tank vanguard and use pull as a cc. Reave does get the job done, but I feel like if I go to reave heavy, I am playing a adept.

Yes it does. As Kronner states: 

Biotic Charge has a hidden perk - 50% damage resistance that lasts 4 seconds. Combined with Barrier, it nets you a whopping 80% damage resistance for the duration of 4 seconds. As long as you keep your Charge cooldown at (or slighlty under) 4 seconds, you are good to go.

As long as you charge smartly (do not get too cocky) you should not take that much health damage.

I like this, but the full-Novaguard Shepard completes Priority Mission in less than 5 minutes on Insanity... it can get boring but it makes you feel absolutely almighty.

How about with the Reegar? How should one spec out incendiary ammo?

I prefer the Hurricane to the Crusader. Hurricane melts things with Incendiary Ammo 6.
