If this so-called "clarification" DLC sweetens ME3's endings, are you going to change your feelings about BioWare, or are you still going to look at them with distrust or suspicion?

I'll still look at them with suspicion, and I might not even follow the next Mass Effect trilogy at all. I am not going to buy a game from a developer who burns their own fans.

This has taught me a lot about my future purchases from ANY video game company.

1. Don't just trust reviews, ask fans as well.

2. Never trust what the developer says pre release.

3. Never buy a game day one, or pre order, give fans time to finish the game, then make your choice to buy or not.

4. Just because the first 2 games were good all the way through, doesn't mean the 3rd will be.

I never buy a game blind, but I had faith in Mass Effect. So I pre ordered. Never again will I make this mistake, with any game.

Do your research, don't buy too soon, and your wallet will thank you.

I'm more pissed about their PR campaign bs than the game at this point.

I have to agree, the way they've handled things is much worse then the ending.  That said creating the kind of ending Mass Effect deserves would go a long way towards regaining my trust, but it's going to take time to get it back to where it was before all this.

they burned the trust bridge with me so I will look at them with suspicion until they have proven they weren't rEAped. Each new title and DLC will be thoroughly researched through non-IGNorant cheerleader sites. I will never pre-order another BioWare title again.

Well as far as I'm concerned BioWare are going to be sleeping on the sofa for a while. With the extended cut, they may be able to sweet talk their way out of it with their smooth Canadian charm. They did wrong but I almost always fall for those slick character driven RPGs.

If they somehow hide repairing the damage Star-Jar did to the lore under the mantle of "clarification" and give us an ending that at least makes sense I'll give them another chance. But at this point it's too late to make ME3 the ending the series deserves and keep all the promises they made, too much would have to be redone and added. So no more preorders regardless, but if they pull this off I'll at least give them another chance.

If only we could get every game buyer to live by this code then games would improve.

If they actually fix it, it means they still know how to do things right. It would show they understand the story they tell. Sure I won't forget how the things went down, since memory doesn't work that way. Sure I'll keep it in mind when their next game hits the shelves. But it would prove they care about doing right by their audience. That's the key thing. So no preorder on the next ttle, obviously, but I'll buy it as soon as the word of mouth confirms it's worth getting.

Otherwise, bargain bin prices at best. If it performs anything like DA2 I won't even have to wait long.

No. Their response has really made me lose whatever trust or loyalty I had in the company. The ending DLC will be my last anything I play from Bioware from this point on.

If it actually fixes it than yes, I would forgive and forget. The terrible endings would be counter balanced by the fact that they actually listened.

I don't think you can improve trash so I'm fairly sure it won't be restoring faith for me

I still have a ton of faith in Bioware. I just think they either ran out of time or money with the endings. I am going to wait faithfully for the extended cut DLC, and if it doesn't satisfy, then I have learned my "buyer beware" lesson and will buy all my games from now on only after I have read fan reviews online.

Depending on the DLC, and the next game they put out actually. All the teams in Bioware would have never predicted the angry response, heck Casey and Mac pretty much stated in other words that they themselves love the ending and they all thought we all most likely would love the Space Brat. Now they know the fanbase is furious with their mismanagement, I would hope they go all-out with the next game (most likely DA 3) and pour 100% of their Story Magic like they used to. This whole debacle opened my eyes to Bioware (obviously some of you had that with DA 2 and Deception, but I don't play DA but might soon, and I'm relatively new here) and if Bioware do a repeat of this next time, then I might stop purchasing from them.

However I have faith in Bioware so I hope this DLC is stellar, regardless of their past mistakes, and they truly make it up to their fans :D!

For me, the Extended Cut is Bioware's one big chance to say "Well, okay, we screwed up." and fix it.
Two possibilities:
1. They add to the existing ending and lose me as a declared Bioware-Fan.
2. They rework the entire ending and give us something with some sense in it - and it's all "yay Bioware" to me again.

Seriously, people, everyone makes mistakes every now and then. I'm willing to forgive them if they realize that the ending is crap and fix it; but if they simply focus on the variation-part... well, Bioware games will lose all their magic for me.

Trust is difficult to earn. It takes years to earn it, and approximately 24 minutes plus a message to buy their DLC to break it.

It'll take another Mass Effect 1 and 2 to earn any semblance of loyalty or trust again.

I'll forgive them and i'll probably continue to buy their stuff.

But I won't forget any time soon, they got some trust to earn back.

while i don't think the dlc extended cut will change much, i think it should matter more how Bioware chose to handle the situation, particularly their false statements about the game then somewhat ignoring the fact they were false, choosing to address fans in blog statements i.e. listening but artistic integrity, also we got X number of perfect scores.

on a semi side note: Personally i have a feeling that what John ricotello was talking about with battlefield has been applied to the ME3 MP in that to get a spectre pack it takes roughly 1 hour 20 mins of play on bronze i played a good bit of MP but i couldn't unlock any krogan or asari, i got a quarian and a drell but mostly my rare cards are for guns i don't use and for characters i already have. The randomness of acquiring the characters coupled with the excessive time needed to gain the credits to unlock packs seems to me that they want players to lean more towards paying cash for packs. not word for word but essentially its having the player hooked and then charging them for ammo packs, personally i stopped playing for the characters maybe others wont.

Bioware giving free extended cut is pretty cool but it doesn't change how they addressed their fans, how they lead their fans on pre release.

People talk like speaking with their wallets is one of the most vile things you can do but companies that don't remember who they are making their games for should pay the price for it Zipper did, Bioware is far from where Zipper was, but they are still leaning, imo less to do with the actual ending and more to do with their handling of the situation.

The damage is done.

Hoping this DLC will make it better so that I can pick up this feeling again.

Bioware dropped the ball with Dragon Age 2. They picked it back up for ME3, then proceeded to drop-kick it off a cliff. It's going to take quite a bit of effort to restore my trust in them.

This whole deal has also shown me that game reviewers can't be trusted for anything. I'm done preordering as well, much less getting collector's editions. It doesn't matter how much I trust a company, if Bioware can screw up this badly, who's next?

If they actually put effort in it, well everyone screws over onetime or the other, even the best.
The ending will still be f**ked up, but they can proove that it wasnt because of laziness, but just because a stupid decission.

If its poor in quality, and maybe only adds a few Textboxes and scenes that were cut halfway through development, they better dont expect me do buy their next game full price :)

I bought ME3 fully expecting that it was going to be the swan song of my relationship with the developers for any number of reasons. The ending of ME3 makes that parting surprisingly painless for me. I don't expect the DLC to "clarify" the ending to change that, but I will wait and see.

It will improve the way I view BW again, definitely, but there will still be some damage there. I will still be suspicious enough that I won't pre-order the next few games but look up reviews and information on them first before purchasing - basically the same I do with other games.

But, if things improve and DA2/ME3 were just blips then over some time it'd go back to normal proceedings.

It's odd that Bioware doesn't defend the ending unless they didn't like it either and somethings preventing them from doing anything about it.

So far the last mission was a let down unless they make some curscenes to make the final mission more epic and something that show one of the ending options to be more satisfying. I'm likely going to not get anything from EA games.
