they will regain my trust. Absolutely. But the DLC must be real step backwards, it must really change the endig.
No space magic, no godly being of light, no plotholes.

it's always hard to admit you were wrong, and it's harder to do something to fix your mistake. Especially with 2 millions copies sold and 9,3 on metacritic.
I can understand that.

But IF they really change the endig... big respect.

If the new stuff is good enough enough I'll be happy and buy dlc for me3 going forward. I already like what is happening in DA3 as the developers are asking about certain things very early in development. This is where both da2 and me3 lost it's way, too many assumptions and not enough feedback until too late.

As for being a discerning consumer...no i will not change. There are chinks in the bioware armor but i still like their style of games the best over games like the witcher or skyrim types. Money is not the issue it was when i was younger.

Bioware's rep doesn't need saving with me. The endings we got, while not perfect, I found to be pretty decent, and Bioware is still modifying them through DLC at fan request, even though much of that requesting was actually angry demanding. They've been far more accomadating with us than they needed to be, so good on 'em.

No. Will not pre-order anything Bioware/EA again. Will wait for player reviews and youtube videos on their games before I might purchase. Most likely will wait until they drop in price or buy used.

I have been playing their games since Baldur's Gate... WAS a loyal fan... yep was :(

Now? No. I have zero faith in their ability to provide what they repeatedly claimed they would release. If they do this to a game that was super hyped, what do you think they will do to all future titles?

I look at Bioware with suspicion.
After being a little disappointed with DAII and the ending of ME3, I will not be pre-ordering any Bioware games.

Up until now, I've usually avoided the forums before a game was released so I didn't spoil it for myself. But, now it seems I'm going to have to thoroughly read reviews before I make my next purchase.
If I decide to buy a Bioware game, I'm going to either wait a few months after release when the price drops or I will buy it pre-owned.

If this Extended Cut manages to pull off the impossible, Bioware will again be worthy of respect.

I'm not expecting much out of the Extended Cut. The very best scenario is that it will at least make the ending mediocre, a step up from where it is now.

BioWare has taught me the risk of buying blindly from developers I trust. Needless to say, they're not getting any more pre-orders from me and I'm only going to give them sales after I read positive user reviews.

Imo Bioware sould read to this thread carefully. And use this to see what type of costumer they DONT have to satisfywith the EC, since they are already lost no matter what they do you might as well disregard their feedback.

If you only knew the promises they gave us before the game's release... If I had the pull, I'd sue BioWare for false advertising, but even if I could sue them, I'd give them one more chance not to screw up before I do. And the "Clarification" DLC is their final chance.

Probably because they've told those people to **** off by going with the extending ending instead of a fixed ending. They can change their mind and fix their problem, but they're not going to. But don't say that they can't.

If Bioware releases a good game in the future I will certainly buy it. They've produced a lot of good games in the past. But I'll wait to see the fan reaction before purchasing (so no pre-ordering from now on). And to be fair, I'm taking that approach with all games from now on, not just ones from Bioware.

Going to give them a chance with the ending DLC, but they are going to have to do one hell of a bang up job. If there was one company in the world I was confident could pull it off before the whole ME3 thing, I would have said Bioware was the one. The people who created all the great aspects of the game are still there, lets hope they have one more miracle left in them.

If it greatly improves the endings then I will be content.

They're only human so they make mistakes. Now they are trying to make up for it with free DLC. Unless you're incredibly childish and melodramatic, there's no reason to stay mad.

regardles, it makes financial sense to do free work (EC) to those who MIGHT buy their products in the future. If you are already in the mindset to boycot their future products, its best (for them) that they disregard your preferences completely because you are a lost sale already.

I believe atghunter said something like this in the PR thread: if you promise to boycot all their future products, they wont lose money, they will simply stop making product with you as a target audience, and make money from someone else...

Even if the DLC is brilliant, and allows us the closure we need from the seriers, I will always be wary about Bioware from now on. Why? Two reasons:

1 - If the people making a game are so rammed up their own backsides that it takes this level of noise for them to realise they might have made a mistake, and even then spent most of their time being so disgustingly patronising to THEIR TARGET AUDIENCE, then I'm concerned about what kind of brain-dead chimpanzee is running the business.

2- They did it before, they might do it again. If the ending is brilliant, this still begs the question of how it got off the drawing board as is. That there is someone at Bioware dumb enough to think that was a good ending, and others equally dumb enough to give it a pass.

Now, granted, this isn't the end. If the ending DLC is decent, then at least we know Bioware can at least fix their own problems, and I'm willing to hope this hoo-ha will have made them think twice about smashing together three balls of solid stupid and calling it an ending. I'll keep an eye on their coming products, and judge based on reviews.

If the DLC sucks, on the other hand, well. Bioware, kiss goodbye to all the £££ you would have had. Bethesda's stories at least make sense, and they can admit when they messed up. Ciao.

Depends whether they surprise us with something really good or if they come out and say 'aahhh, got you guys! you thought that was the ending?! oh you sweet fool you!nah we were just messing with you.' I don't hate Bioware, they're a good developer but I wasn't completely satisfied with the rest of ME3 (ending aside) and Dragon Age 2. They both seemed to take some bizarre and silly steps back so I will be checking the bargain bin for future titles unless they knock it out the park. I'm always willing to give a game a chance, but some sooner than others. I hope they prove me wrong. I do dislike their PR campaign though. I will certainly not listen to what thay say about a game. I'll look out for Angry Joe haha. He's the only guy i trust

DA2 was one.

Yep.
I pre-ordered DAII blindly because the preceeding title was good. And then I was a little disappointed with it.Usually I try to give people the benefit of the doubt.I thought "Oh.Well, just because DAII was a bit of a disappointment, it
doesn't mean ME3 will be."
Then, I pre-ordered ME3 and almost the same thing happened.

And now I'm cautious.

Mass Effect 3's ending sucked hard.

But all of DAII sucked hard, compared to DA:O.

So to be honest... I haven't really "trusted" BioWare for a while.

Considering what we have been told about the DLC, unless they've got something spectacular planned, I probably won't even bother with it. I'm not going to sit around while they try to convince me that their Totally Utterly Ridiculous Deus ex machina actually smells like roses.

I won't say that I'm done with them. I'm done with preordering their games. I'm done buying their CE's. I'm done standing in line at midnight to pick it up. I'm done buying 360 and PC versions. If I hear good reviews from real people, not just game reviewers, I may pick up future BioWare games. The only EA game I've ever played is SSX series, and I don't mind skipping those.

Now, if they do manage to turn this mess around and provide an ending that actually works, I might be a bit more lenient. But it will take a lot to convince me, and I don't have much hope at this point.

If the ending DLC truly fixes the game for me (and by that I mean it's effectively a complete rewrite of the last 10 minutes), it'll go a long way towards me trusting Bioware again.

If this so-called "clarification" DLC sweetens ME3's endings, are you going to change your feelings about BioWare, or are you still going to look at them with distrust or suspicion?

I'll still look at them with suspicion, and I might not even follow the next Mass Effect trilogy at all. I am not going to buy a game from a developer who burns their own fans.

what do you mean by sweaten the ending it what way?
