They aren't lying, just not giving all the information that one would need to make an honest decision about the game.

The "over 75 perfect scores" is seen as a positive statement. The quote by itself isn't false, but it's ambiguous. The first statement sets your thoughts in a positive frame of reference. If someone knew that most of the fan reaction was NEGATIVE it would negate the first statement about the perfect scores.

They have to be hurting from our reaction to do something like this.

Not sure if serious.  No it isn't ethically wrong because they aren't outright lying, but they are telling a mistruth which makes it morally wrong.  Businesses do this all the time, albeit not to this extent.  I don't like it any more than you do, I'm just telling you what the reality is.

Isn't not telling the truth outright also ethically wrong?
Since ethic is  systematizing, defending and recommending concepts of right and wrong behavior, it is kinda ethically wrong to not tell the truth. I think.

Anyways, since when do big businesses need to have ethic in their work??:pinched:

I wonder if Bioware realizes that contextomy is illegal in the EU.... Since this product is sold all over Europe, they would have to abide by the EU's laws as well.

While I still <3 Bioware as people, human beings  - we all make mistakes afterall.

I agree with the OP's sentiment, this situation is haemorraging fans, the only reason so many people are still pointing out problems on the forums is because they hope someone will listen and there will be a fix and they won't have to stop being fans.

Peace and love to you Bioware, may the gods be kind.

TOS's hold up about as well as tissue paper does to stones when up against real laws. It doesn't matter what they put in their policy, if it breaks the law it breaks the law.

They are telling the truth.  They just aren't telling ALL of the truth.  Get what I'm saying?  It's a lie by omission like when Obi Wan failed to mention to Luke that Vader was his father (spoilers ^_^).  He WAS telling the truth "from a certain point of view".  EA is telling the truth from a certain point of view but it is not the whole truth and is disgustingly misleading.

I don't think the majority of RetakeME3ers want Bioware to go bankrupt. They want some proofs that people think the end to the game suck, so Bioware can get the ending right.

Heh, I don't want them to go bankrupt. I want them to return to the greatness that was... well, at least 90 percent of Mass Effect 3. Instead of, "Hey, watch me pull this rabbit out of my butt!" aka Deus Ex Machina.

But, this? This isn't an example of heading in the right direction. Any quote from any of those "75 perfect scores" extolling the virtues of Mass Effect 3 would have done the job nicely. This was a jab, plain and simple. We noticed. Point made.

I dunno... As I said elsewhere, why do I get the feeling the song "Somebody that I Used to Know" may just become the [previous] bioware fan base theme...

No, she is not. BioWare going broke is far from what Retake wants. What LSG posted is her own opinion.
Just because someone is a Retake member, does not mean they speak for Retake. Please, keep that in mind :)

Edit- To post something on topic. From a moral standpoint, BioWare has been doing the wrong thing for a while (pre-release promises stating we'd get something that we most certainly wouldn't, vieled insults and putting people who don't like the endind down, as well as advertisement like the one shown here). So BioWare's morals are questionable, but from a legal standpoint, they are in the clear (it is all just underhanded legal marketing).

Not much any of us can do, accept complain (which we all get abused for...you know...for asking for the product we were promised), or take out money elsewhere. For the latter, I'd like to point out an ironic situation- CD Projekt Red (creators of the Witcher series) have been making money off unhappy BioWare fans...and their games use BioWare's proprietary Aurora Engine.

Also, as to the idiology of "You don't like the ending? Too bad, shut up and take it"...the bigger picture of attitudes like that is that really, they are telling us to accept whatever companies sell...no matter how poor the quality may be. So we can't get what we were promised, what we'd expect, nor have the right to complain...lose-lose for people here.

I don't think anyone honestly wants the people who work at BioWare to lose their jobs. It is easy to hate an 'evil corporation' or its 'whipped' subsidiary, but we have to remember there are real people with families that work there. I just wish that they would remember that we are real people too.

What I've changed about myself from all this is that I will no longer automatically pre-order BioWare games in the future. I will only purchase their products if and when the player reaction (not the "OMG it was AMAZING!!" gaming websites) leads me to believe it might be something I'd be interested in purchasing.

The question is actually rhetorical. Just my way of saying that she's probably alone in that opinion.  I do realise many Retakers are not like that.

All of this reminds me of a quote uttered by one of the greatest Jedis who ever lived...

"So what I told you was true... from a certain point of view."
