Bioware is letting disappear the little humanity it had left:(

“Even Laurence Fishburne’s incendiary performance can’t ignite Hoodlum, a would-be gangster epic that generates less heat than a nickel cigar. Fishburne’s ‘Bumpy’ is fierce, magnetic, irresistible even… But even this actor can only do so much.” - Hoodlum review
"irresistible" - Hoodlum advertisment, citing the same review

Not sure if serious. No it isn't ethically wrong because they aren't outright lying, but they are telling a mistruth which makes it morally wrong. Businesses do this all the time, albeit not to this extent. I don't like it any more than you do, I'm just telling you what the reality is.

When quoting, be sure to quote word for word, down to the punctuation. Any omissions, additions, or modifications to the quote must be signaled to the reader with ellipses and square brackets, as explained in Advanced Quoting Skills.
While minor modifications are permissible, you must never present the quote in a manner that changes the author's original meaning. Especially if done with the purpose of distorting the author's intention and/or manufacturing support for an entirely different argument, intentionally changing the meaning of a quote is academically dishonest and risks severe penalty.
To intentionally misquote or use an unrelated quote to support your position is dishonest and thus ethically wrong.

As the_geo_law said, empires fall. DA2 foreshadowed it. This is the beginning of the end.

Really it's a base misunderstanding on both our parts. You where implying the whole use and context of the ad if your post and I thought you were just referencing the quote itself. And I said claiming not blaming. I don't know where you got blaming from.DJBare wrote...
Err, I'm not blaming anyone, it's an advertising tactic, "turn a disadvantage into an advantage"; it's still a lie by ommision, they ommited the reason for the fan reaction.Opsrbest wrote...Ya ya semantical use towards the actual comment because there is no factual statement in the content as to it's identification. Subjective interpretation is not grounds for claiming something is factually or morally wrong. Quoting someone else is not morally or factually wrong. You take issue with the qoute, blame Entertainment Weekly for making it.
You might want to take a look at the first quote used above. (it's made by you)
The bolded/underlined part will show where the blaming part comes from.

I suppose I should thank them for that? Save me some money in the future, and all.

But sweet weeping raptor Shepard that is as deceptive and out of context as you could possibly get. There are exactly three explanations for this that account for all observed phenomena:
1) Bioware/EA have the reading comprehension and english language skills of a wombat. The superb writing found throughout the rest of the franchise was a statistical fluke; the chimpanzees with typewriters finally did produce Hamlet.
2) Bioware/EA are shameless charlatans and liars who have no problem engaging in deceptive advertising verging on outright fraud in this case of this add.
3) The marketing department of Bioware/EA are shameless charlatans and liars who have no problem engaging in deceptive advertising verging on outright fraud, and the game's developers along with the rest of the company are either unwilling or unable to stop them.

And I had the email of whoever it was that used that quote as advertising.
I am just so shocked at how Bioware and EA just DONT GET IT!
What happened to the studio that brought us Baldur's Gate?
As I write this I'm looking at the cool cloth map I have from BG2. It just makes me sadder. - Like stumbling across an old photo of you and a girlfriend from a while back - one from before she spent all your life savings on blow, and slept with her corporate boss.
