Hey you guys want MegaMan in Marvel vs. Capcom 3?

Well... we will remove the alternate color Zero has that looks like X. And then make a MegaMan X a DLC costume. You like MegaMan soo much? Well give Frank West a MegaMan DLC outfit too.

Oh you're not happy with that? We'll add MegaMan to Street Fighter X Tekken. It's gonna be bad boxart MegaMan. Talkin about Street Fighter X Tekken, a third of the roster is DLC (Disk locked content).

Oh you're not happy with that?

At Capcom, we value our customers and make every effort to resolve customer complaints. We are sorry to hear that [censored] was so disappointed with the Street Fighter x Tekken game (”SFxT”), and would like to respond to his complaints.

SFxT has an enormous amount of content, fully developed and available for play and enjoyment immediately on-disc. Given the 38 characters available for full play, as well as multiple play modes, SFxT provides great value for all players from day one. While Capcom is sorry that some of its fans are not happy about the chosen method of delivery for the DLC, we believe that this method will provide more flexible and efficient gameplay throughout the game’s lifecycle. There is effectively no distinction between the DLC being ”locked” behind the disc and available for unlocking at a later date, or being available through a full download at a later date, other than delivery mechanism.

Asura's Wrath real endin is DLC.

Resident Evil 6? Retail exclusive pre-order Disk Locked Content Multiplayer Maps.

And let's not get into MegaMan Legends 3.

Capcom is Always the biggest Troll.

There's a Megaman Legends 3?

I remember Megaman Legends 1, and partly some of 2... for the PS1.

Yes, I'm sure the fans very much determined their budget.

Could the topic diverters find a thread in the off topic forum to go talk about capcom in instead?

Incidently, I find it funny to think about the turncoat that told how exactly that kind of thread diverting was used by paid trolls to try and deflect 'bad' publicity from the company.

I think a raise is out of the question.

I'm more wondering if he will have a job afterwards if the FTC decides to slam down on this kind of misrepresentation of facts.

The fun thing being Capcom heading towards bankrupcy but it's like they don't care. "Oh our game sold less than expected, ahh, who cares? Lets keep this up people!"

They'll become the ultimate troll when they start requiring an online pass to play multiplayer.  When that happens they'll be the worst game company in existance.

It's really sad that many 'pro-enders' here are supporting an ad that is obviously intentionally misleading. So you guys are essentially saying that you *want* deceptive advertising?

Uh.. *shakes head* the fandom reaction they are speaking of is both the positive and the negative. Which isn't misleading at all.

It implies the ending has had a positive reaction, not the entire game.

Thanks Gibb_Shepard, appreciate the clarification. @HenchxNarf, if you really believe that, can you provide some evidence to support it? In all seriousness I'd be willing to consider it.

Here's what the article says. That statement is exactly about the negative reaction.

EW:
So it makes sense that the ending of Mass Effect 3 has provoked a bigger fan reaction than any other videogame’s conclusion in the medium’s history. [snip mention of other franchises that outraged fans] … The outrage over Mass Effect has quickly reached a fever pitch

There's not a single ambigous thing about it.

No, I'm not.

They CANNOT change the ending. That's the endings we have. I don't like them that much, either, but that's the way it is. The extended cut thing they're going to do seems to be the best possible solution. It will give us some closure to the series that we can take away feeling like what we did during the three games made a difference.

Are they covering their ****es in using their negative press to make their game seem monumental? Yes.
Is it a great game 99.5% of the way? Yes.
But, at least they are actually DOING something about it, instead of just letting us rot. It's not what some of us want, but realistically, how much can they do at this point? What would YOU have them do?

What I wanted, was for them to have some real integrity about their product, and fix the game rather than sticking bandaids on the product.

It is a rushed and sloppy piece of software that should have had proper time given to its development phase. That didn't happen, but they should have fixed the sloppiness then when called out on it.

Instead we get a refusal to acknowledge their quality flaws and an ever increasing amount of DLCs.

Heck, ME3 can hardly be called a rpg, since they have more or less taken most stuff out that differentiated it from a random modern shooter.

Quality of the gameplay or quality of the writing?
The overall gameplay is, in my opinion, rather tight and well handled.
The writing could have been better, especially the ending. But, all in all, I think that is at least acceptable in it's standards.

Is there any way they can change the game now? Not that I can see. So what they are doing now seems like SOME sort of an olive branch to the fans dissatisfied with the ending.

It's not an RPG in the vein of FF or Skyrim, but it does have RPG elements.

Both, to be honest.

I get better shooter gameplay from games that are 4 years old, and the writing I've seen is poorer than the previous titles.

If you really want to be pedantic, I guess we could add graphics/animations too. The scenery looks nice, but that's about it I feel. Rest look too... out of place, for some reason. Especially animations. Urgh... At times I wondered if Female Shepard were a lego figure when she walked...:o

"So it makes sense that the ending of Mass Effect 3 has provoked a bigger fan reaction than any other videogame’s conclusion in the medium’s history." - Full quotation used from the EQ article.

Article in question

It's the first sentence in the fourth paragraph.

Just in case nobody has bothered to look for it.

Sorry... I don't see it that way.

In all honesty, I believe that the game mechanics are GOTY-worthy. The writing is impeccable until that last 10  minutes that everyone talks about. Even then, it is not bad, it is just so out of "left field," that we are all left scratching our heads and wondering where our comprehensive endings went.

Maybe I'm a "fanboy," but I think the game on a whole is a good product. Not the masterpiece that I and so many others were looking for, but still very good.
