Sigh, every survey has shown that people dislike the ending. Reddit, BSN, etc. The Pro-Ending Modification Group dramatically exceeds the Pro-Keep the Ending the same group on FB. In order to believe, the majority of fans "liked" the ending you have to believe:
1. People who liked the ending are incredibly dispassionate and not willing to defend it.
2. The people who post on the internet are not in any way a representative sample of fans in general.
3. People who have not posted are pro or indifferent on the ending.
4. Space Magic.
Again, it's impossible to known conclusively what's the majority opinion without good accurate scientific polling. However, the more logical inference is "most people dislike the ending"
I had professors who worked as political consultants during the 1994 and 2010 who talked about those experts/campaign managers who didn't feel that emerging grass roots movements were representative of the national mood. They looked pretty foolish now. A lot of times the loudest voices are just saying exactly what everybody else wants to say.
no offence but this hole backlash is so out of controll to where if someone says they stand by liking the endings they are verbally insulted
i myself have been insulted as have other people
i dont give a crap if anyone hates the ending but it dosent give anyone a right to insult me with name calling
and i wont deny i have retaliated against those that have done nothing but provoke a situation with me
I agree that some posters have crossed the line. I'm not defending that post. I've tried to stay positive, articulate ideas that I think work, and defend Bioware's employees when people crossed the line. I hope you still feel comfortable posting your ideas and thoughts, and it sucks if you don't.
That being said, the fact that it's so overwhelming should indicate the pervasiveness of the beleif. All I'm saying is that the most realistic viewpoint of the data is the majority of people dislike the ending. It's not conclusive, obviously, because there are concerns about authenticity of the sample. But, there's a lot of evidence, though imperfect, on one side, and a lot of really, really bad analysis on the other. That's my major point.
